NRA - Congress must pass a law putting armed police officers in every school in America
The NRA came out with a bold plan for congress to provide armed guards in all schools across the nation as a response to the tragic elementary school murders in Newtown, Connecticut, according to Fox News. National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre made it clear in a Washington D. C. Press Conference, Friday, December 21st that the only way to confront the issue of protecting the lives of school children, teachers and administrators is to not give an inch of ground to the future gunmen and gun control hysteria. Arm all the schools and protect the children is the answer!
LaPierre vividly pointed out, "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun!" His point resonates with the tens of thousands of trained, unemployed combat veterans, retired law enforcement officials, and even military reservists across America who are potential resources. These Americans are more than willing and able to help insure the safety and security of the nation’s 132,656 schools.
According to the Center for Education Reform’s latest 2010 report, there are approximately 55,235,000 children in enrolled in K-12 schools in America. This represents millions of potential targets for an unbalanced gunman like Adam Lantz to harm or murder innocent children, teachers and administrators. This is not an option that America’s parents or society should be willing to accept.
The NRA’s new plan to provide training for all public school teachers and students to help deal with safety and security in the school is far more acceptable than waiting for President Obama and his gun-czar task force head Vice President Biden to find more punitive ways to erode gun rights in America.
The biggest barrier to preventing escalating gun violence in American schools by shooters determined to kill innocent people, is a refusal by the mainstream media to acknowledge these murderers are domestic terrorists.
When Adam Lantz cold bloodedly murdered his mother, Nancy Lantz in her bed and shot and killed 20 children and 6 adults, he was a domestic terrorist. When James Holmes walked into an Aurora, Colorado movie theater in July fully dressed in protective body armor and armed with a Glock handgun, shotgun and assault rifle, he was a domestic terrorist.
So would make perfect logic to monitor and proactively apprehend these gunmen, who appear to be suffering from some type of psychotic break, and have demonstrated previous potential for deadly violence behavior. A national database to monitor these individuals is a useful first step when they send up red flags for habitually engaging in violent threatening behavior.
America needs more than a simple as well as predictable knee-jerk reaction to attack legitimate gun owners. America needs a true counter-terrorism response to this growing threat. A national registry of high-risk individuals like the Adam Lantz’s and James Holmes of the nation should be part of a national database, just as sex-offenders as well as potential terrorist threats are monitored.

The answer is Concealed carry and no gun free zones anywhere! let teachers carry while in school!

vouchers and let parents pick the school they send their kids to , then public [government ] schools would dry up and blow away like a cow turd baked in sun and subject to a tornado !

Although I'm all for my second Amendment right to bear arms this will cause an awful lot of burden as usual on tax payers as none of our legislators divy in their portion to protect our children as it is. They all want jump on the totalitarian train of the "Bloomberg project" from NYC of taking away our rights as citizens to bear arms for protection instead of meeting the problem head on like normal thinking working Americans do. If they would look into the pto's, their current teaching curriculum and good teachers for the answers they would I'm sure find them. I'm sure glad I don't live in NYC because that egotistical,totalitarian fat cat Mayor hasn't a clue to what "We The People" want because he's suffering from mind dysfunction and selective hearing problems.
Veterans and retired police officers can be employed as security guards in schools and other places of public assembly. Teachers can be trained in the use of weapons, and how to deal with intruders. Whether the people invading the schools are mentally ill, or part of a scheme to confiscate weapons from the population we still need to protect ourselves and our children
Mr. Papp says, "They're schools, not prisons!" Uh, the schools have people breaking in to kill, not breaking out. Having security and CWP carrying staff does not make it a prison!
Get rid of the gun free zones and you automatically reduce crime.
There should be adequate personnel in our schools that can be trained to carry and protect the students. Just knowing that the school is not a gun free school should help. The shooters want easy targets. Not too many robberies at a gun show.
In a few cases yes it will stop violent. In all cases it will keep the body count lower. Sorry if that sounds cold and insenitive but it's true. No one wants to own the screwed up socity we live in today. We all know blacks have been killing blacks for along time. We accept it as life in the hood, even make movies about it, write songs to glorify it, the kids love it! The white kids are just doing what they have seen the black kids do for years and get away with it. You want to know who your shooters are, then think about the next time a kid is playing his music so loud he is rattleing the windows on your car 20 feet away, do you think he cares one bit what you think? he's betting you will say nothing or do nothing out of fear he'll shot you if you do. The difference in today and 40 years ago is 40 years ago a adult would ask them to turn down their music, one time. The kids feared the adults.
Armed security guards in every school was just one suggestion , I much prefer the suggestion that several administraters and or teachers in civilian clothing be trained and armed with a concealed weapon so that a shooter and or shooters don't know and can't tell who is armed . In spite of the fact that the idiot Piers Morgan seems to think a student might grab the gun ( even though he or she dosn't know who is armed ) is just drawing at straws to deny its viability .
