Why is it everybody is saying this is a "freedom of religion" issue? It is not a question of freedom of religion! Nobody is saying they don't want Muslims to worship Allah; we are saying you cannot build a monument to a victory of Islamic extremism! That is all this is and to prove it, I point to the fact that the Governor of New York has said he looking for state property to trade with the current proposed site and you do not hear this cleric embracing the idea! That tells me and should be a warning to the nation that this cleric and the planners of this "mosque" want to uphold the time-honored Muslim tradition of building a mosque on the site of a Islamic "victory"!
I am no fan of Governor Patterson but I give him kudos for submitting a plan to defuse the issue!
