The Senate secured the 50 signatures needed to prevent the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) -- a document signed by State Secretary John Kerry that threatens Second Amendment rights of American citizens -- from taking effect. "The letter, with its 50 signatories, ends any prospect in the foreseeable future of Senate ratification of the ATT," The Heritage Foundation notes. Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL) was the lone Republican who rejected the pledge -- hardly surprising considering the state he resides in. We applaud the Senate for disavowing this legislation. Right Hook [Good, this was a foolish action by Kerry and thank goodness the Senate put a stop to it.]

  •  Only 50? Time to cut back support for the UN to the bare minimum. Or leave altogether.

  • Lynda Mortensen, Morton is totally correct in what he says about the blame game and our citizens being blind. You suggest YOU the people to Morton, but what he said is WE because in every aspect of the Liberal media, to them it is Obama the people! We are headed for a Communist State and those 122,000 pages of so-called health care are a main part in taking our rights using the IRS as a cracker!

  •   Liberals were made to punish normal people for not paying attention .

  • The people that's means you Tea Party better start walking the talk and take action.

    Or communist tyranny takes over.

The fact that 46 Senators voted for this unconstitutional treaty should cause the people to throw all these Senators out from office.

  • this is something the PEOPLE should vote on not these dickheads in washington just as obamacare should have been voted on by the people.for we the people have been left out of to many things that affect us yes we voted these people in but somethings as big as this. like the military being down graded should be voted on by the people

  • those suckers in the Senate maybe are getting the hint even THEY WILL NEED the 2A for themselves soon, ya think?  LOL!!

  • Wow, I'm impressed that the Senate actually did something correct for a change!

  • FOR ONCE THE SENATE DID SOMETHING RIGHT.

NOW  THE U.N. CAN NOT PUT DOWN OUR 2ND amendment.

  • @Clarence Daugherty, A well placed reminder. We need to win the White House also so they can " unsign" this attack on our Constitution. The President does have that authority. I would love to see us leave the UN and evict them. They are controlled by our enemies.
