The Lesson in the Betrayal of Sarah Palin

4063654016?profile=originalRush Limbaugh on his radio show discussed an article which stated that there is no respected voice in the national arena articulating Conservatism. Such an advocate for Conservatism is crucial to reversing the direction of America as Obama drives us toward socialism while low-info voters gleefully sing Kumbaya in the backseat.

Well excuse me for pointing out the obvious, but we had an extraordinary advocate for Conservatism and look what happened to her. Judas on our side betrayed her – sold her reputation for 30 seconds of fame and favor with the media.

Even now, folks on our side are still beating up on Sarah Palin saying – Palin has lost her appeal – Palin is unelectable – Palin wasn't smart enough – Palin wasn't prepared and etc. So, this is how we treat our heroes.

Many Democrat Party politicians/advocates are immoral, liars and cheats. And yet, they are treated like super-stars by the media. Democrats have the backs of their associates, no matter what. For example: Democrats never rebuked Clinton for receiving oral sex from an intern in the Oval Office. They simply launched a campaign claiming that any man in Clinton’s position would have reacted like him. Think about that folks, Democrats and the media lowered the standard of national leadership behavior to cover their guy.

We Conservatives act as if our representatives must be the reincarnation of Jesus Christ – perfect in every way. At a Conservative's slightest misstep, Republicans/Conservatives trip over one another backing away from the individual in an effort to get out of the media and Democrat's line of fire.

Clearly, advocates of Conservatism are expected to walk on water by both political parties.

Word on the political street is we need a respected advocate for Conservatism to reach low-info voters. While I do believe a new voice will emerge, I wonder who could be better than Sarah Palin? Will we betray our new Conservative hero?

Inevitably, Palin's humanity was revealed; she was not perfect. But still, Palin is extraordinary and will be a tough act to follow.

Allow me to recap. Immediately following her amazing VP nomination acceptance speech, the media/the left went crazy consumed with hatred and a desperate desire to destroy her. Why? Palin was a beautiful, smart, articulate and strong woman who boldly touted traditional values and a love for God, family and country – all of which are anathemas to the left.

No tactic was too low to discredit Palin. Thus, the left even attacked Trig, Palin's Down Syndrome child.

Women in my family parroted the media talking point that Palin was bad for women. I thought, “You idiots, Palin is the epitome of everything the left/Democrats claim to desire for women – successful inside and outside of the home.”

While governor of Alaska, the left tried to drown Palin in lawsuits. Palin resigned to save her state from the cost and aggravation. The left's mantra was Palin is a quit-er and republicans/conservatives joined their chorus.

Another thing the left successfully did to discredit Palin was to brand her “stupid”. Who among us could survive every word out of our mouth being judged from a point of view that you are stupid? Meanwhile, Obama ran around saying America has 57 states and the media completely ignored this faux pas, along with several others by Obama.

Despite relentless attacks by hostel interviewers, in every TV interview, Palin always stood strong, boldly touting Conservatism. Man, you got to love this remarkable woman.

Also, completely ignored is Palin's tremendous charisma which I witnessed first hand on numerous occasions. We launched one of our Tea Party Express national bus tours in Searchlight Nevada - a huge dust bowl. Palin was our keynote speaker. Twenty-five thousand patriots attended with many camping out the night before to reserve their spot. Through the windows of our Tea Party Express bus as we arrived, I watched seniors who parked a mile away using walkers to make their way to the event.

The admiration for Palin felt a little like the scene in the Bible in which a woman said if I can just touch the hem of His garment, I will be made whole. In all of my 400 tea parties and 9 tours across America, no one, I repeat, no one affected audiences like Sarah Palin.

When this new conservative voice emerges on the scene, will we stand behind our hero no matter what, barring something immoral or criminal? Or, will we expect our guy or gal to be the second coming of Jesus. Have we learned something from the Republican/Conservative betrayal of Palin and their passivity and culpability in the media's viscous vile destruction of her image?

Sarah Palin, on behalf of We The People, I wish to thank you for your profile in courage, trumpeting Conservatism (God, family and country).

  • The elected officials in this country are totaly out of control, they have forgotten that they are there to SERVE not to dictate. Andrew Cuomo,Barack Obama, Charles Schummer,Nancy Polozi,Harry Reid,Joe Biden. And dozens of others have staged a takeover of the Government and usurped the power of congress and the people. We must Not let them succede. the time is growing short

  • From one Momma Grizzley to another...I love Sarah....McCain..well, he is a lousy RINO progressive and part of the problem.......I voted for Sarah too.

  • I agree with you Mr. Slater. We now have a imbalance government from all three branches. The Executive Branch is full of Communist and Socialist. The Legislative Branches have been corrupted with power and wealth. Plus they can not agree on anything concerning the welfare of the people. The Judicial Branch has become supportive of the Executive Branch with their dictatorship and their end around our Constitution with Executive Orders that are UnConstitutional. We the people need to unite under Task Force 1775 to do the business of the people and start over with a new bunch elected by the people and not the Electroral College.

  • Lloyd, thank you for this great article on Sarah and our principles and values.   When I first got wind of Sarah Palin it was on the internet.   Something about The Governor of Alaska standing up to the Feds about not needing the Feds help to take care of the Polar Bears.   In the next breath I heard that this Governor of Alaska was a woman named Sarah Palin who had the confidence and know how to put the Feds in their place.   Needless to say, as a person that was always called a right wing extremist, radical, a patriotic Utra-Conservative, I was instantly attracted to Palins attitude and demeanor.   In an encounter with family members I remarked that Sarah Palin should be elected the next President of The United States of America.  One of my female relatives later told me when Sarah got the VP nomination that I knew how to pick a leader.   In simple language Sarah has what it takes to be that leader that we all desire.  What happened to Sarah as McCains running mate is very indicative of many situations I have observed in my life experience.   When a new person comes on the scene in a job or politics or any other area, and that person happens to be smarter, more tactful, more dedicated, and just out and out better at the job than any of the co-workers or colleagues/peers, everybody else feels threatened by them.   I find the reason for this is mainly because the others have lied on their application, have lied in the job interview, and have been lying in day to day situations for a long time.   This new person doesn't need to lie, cheat, or steal.   They are simply heads and shoulders above the rest of their peers and the rest feeling threatened by this person do everything they can to bring them down.  Eventually this new person either gets in line with the others enough not to be so noticable or they quit or transfer somewhere else.  I have seen this so many times it is sickening.   But one thing is for sure.   Eventually the new person will get their chance to find their place and make the grade in spite of all the obstacles that the lazy, loafing, lying, bottom feeders throw at you.   She just has to hang in there.   After what we've seen lately in politics, anyone who would not support Sarah Palin if she runs for any position, should be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail.  One thing is for sure, no matter  what job Sarah takes, you can bet that she will be the Best she can Be at it.   That's alot more than I can say for anyone else I see out there in Fantasyland.

  • Palin has a place in politics that he has not exploited yet.  She could easily find a state to run as

a pro gun anything, democrat, republican, independent, whig or whatever.  She would have a good

chance of unseating a democrat in many states of the lower 48.  I don't think any of the Alaska

rinos are up for election as senators in 2014.  If they were, then she could surely win in Alaska.

From that position, she could easily beat hitlary Clinton in a presidential election.  In fact if whe

ran as a pro life, pro gun rights democrat, would vote for her in the primaries against any demo

crat that I know today.  Sarah would be a good democrat, and she would have unions on her side

then.  With unions on her side, she would not need the fringe elements to win.

  • Well said Mr. Marcus! Amazing isn't it? Mitt only mentioned women and the press were all over him for his "sexist remarks", but they vilified Sarah and no one said a word. No, she wouldn't last in DC. She has integrity and honesty, not to mention strong family values. That's something that doesn't fly in DC.

  • DITTO ! In 2008 I voted for Sarah not McCain , she was the one America was in desperate need of.
I will never apologize for her, as far as I am concerned , there would not be a TEA PARTY were it not for her.
Sarah Palin is and always will be my hero . GOD bless her and her family forever .
  • they and we have done the same thing to michelle bachman...here she has done everything possible to keep the conservative truth alive, and she was not hardly supported by even her own party. michelle malkin, is another. she is probably one of the few truth tellers on the media scene today, and she takes her hits, and the scorn of the left all the time, but you never hear anyone speaking up for her in a national forum. many of these peple do what they do, not for themselves, but for theose odeals we conservatives believe in. we become so fragmented, that we forget about a unifying behind anything that beats the democrats, and their marxists movement. sarah palin is a walking encyclopedia on the energy problems, and what should be done for the future...why...because she has lived and fought the problem as the governor of alaska, working with the energy companies, and the environmentalist...all first hand, and she turned alaska around, to a state that has been far ahead of the curve in all aspects....while at the same time, she saved the state billions in lost revenue, and put a check in every alaskans pocket. she was head of a pta, a mayor, and then a governor...her record was ten times better than obamas...and you cant be stupid to have done all of those jobs successfully...and she did it all with humility and grace.  i dont care who you are, and what the particulars of why someone is running for office...if you are against the democrats and obama, then i am on your side...why many conservatives and those in the republican party, are some of the most ball-less idiots that i have ever seen...and they get run over by the democrats every single friggin day....and then you wonder why people keep talking about a third party...meanwhile the constitution is eroding away, simple everyday rights are eroding away, people are paying somewhere around 60 percent of their money to the government, obamacare has turned into socialism on steriods, and now the 2nd amendment may be chipped away, through the backdoor, and obama is trying to get statehood for puerto rico, and if thats not enough...china wants us to payback some of our debt, by giving them a bunch of our land........geez people what else does it take to get you all off your asses?

  • Sarah Palin is a person of integrity and honesty.  That probably does disqualify her for most

positions inWashinton DC.  However, I would love to see her sitting in Barack Obama's chair

tonight.  I do agree with Clint Eastwood.  The chair has an empty suit in it tonight.

I can be sure of one thing.  Sarah Palin would be able to show us a real birth certificate and it

would also show her born of an American Father and Mother.   That has proven to be essential

and the founders of this nation had it right when they put that in the constitution.  If we have

proven nothing else, we have proven that conclusively in the last 4 years.

  • She needs to come out now and set the stage, talk about what she would do with the budget, terrorists, the media, attack, attack, attack. What can they do to her that has not been done. Stand up and talk, short statements, attack, jump on everything in a hard truthful way, establish a platform, unite all the organizations into one, there are thousands of tea party type camps that need to get it together into one force. Be a Republican but be different, talk different, present different, get different supporters like marcus, billboards, blogs, tweet, Facebook, real American women groups, religion support, come at them in the same way they sneaked in and destroy them with their own game. Get the young Republicans out there and bring in new ideas. It does not take a rocket scientist  just a leader to get behind. Palin and West, Palin and Love, Palin and Paul. Ideas need to start somewhere we are not lost just not organized and we need Palin to stand up.
