The American mainstream media has long been sympathetic to the “progressive” cause. For decades they have made subliminal editorial decisions regarding their reportage in favor of “progressive” concepts and candidates. They, along with teachers, professors, Hollywood producers, screenplay writers and actors have slowly, carefully but consistently nudged American thought farther to the left.
Case in point: Edward R. Murrow, who was a member of the John F. Kennedy 
administration and later awarded the Medal of Freedom by Lyndon B. Johnson. Murrow is best remembered for TV news reports that led to the censure of a pro-America Senator Joseph McCarthy. The memory of Murrow is championed by “progressive” outlets such as Newsweek Magazine and NPR. The “progressive" former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann considers Murrow his idol. Members of today’s “progressive” media and “progressive” academia view Murrow's name as synonymous with journalistic excellence.
By the year 2008, once the nomination of Barack Hussein Obama as the "progressive" Democratic Party’s candidate for president was secured, the "progressive" Party Pravda, also known as the American mainstream media, moved beyond the subliminal (and sometimes not so subliminal) bias they had manifested for decades and entered the realm of advocacy.
Make that "progressive" advocacy.
Media bias against Conservatives and in favor of “progressive” concepts and candidates is nothing new. Look at what they did to Joseph McCarthy, Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, Dan Quayle and Andrew Breitbart.
However, in today’s world their tactics have exceeded bias and grotesquely mutated into deifying "progressivism" while vilifying Conservatism. Look at what they have done for Barack Hussein Obama, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Michael Bloomberg, Chuck Schumer, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. Look at what they have done and are doing to Sarah Palin, Herman Cain, Allen West, Mia Love, Tim Scott, Bobby Jindal, Ted Cruz and Benjamin Carson.
At each and every available opportunity, the “progressive” Party Pravda has eagerly jumped to wrongly 
suggest that every violent public occurrence was likely committed by a potentially dangerous, Conservative right wing Tea Party extremist type. For example, take the cold-blooded Gabby Giffords shooting, the tragic Newtown Connecticut murders and the Boston Marathon Islamo-fascist terrorist bombing.
Meanwhile, what did the “progressive” Party Pravda do to truthfully report what happened in Benghazi, Libya on 9/11/2012, when four Americans were left to die? Did they level with America and disclose that the Obama administration was involved in a massive presidential election year cover-up or did they knowingly and willfully repeat White House talking points in order to aid and abet Obama’s re-election? How about the Department of Justice’s ill-advised, ill-fated Fast and Furious gun running operation which intentionally put semi-automatic weapons into the hands of Mexican drug cartels, where those weapons were involved in the slaughter of hundreds of Mexican civilians and a U.S. Border Agent? Do Americans know the real unemployment numbers and why the reported numbers are artificially low? How many Americans know that the U.S. Senate, under the so-called leadership of “progressive” Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) consciously neglected to pass a budget in four years? Do they know about the gruesomely bloody late term abortion/murder trial in Pennsylvania of Kermit Gosnell? What do they know about the death toll in Syria’s ongoing civil war?
The "progressive" Party Pravda is government controlled media telling the American public what 
"progressive" politicians want them to think, want them to focus on and where their attention should be directed.
Trusting information disseminated by the “progressive” Party Pravda is a fool’s errand. They are not to be trusted. They are hiding the truth about America’s political system, the federal government’s centrally planned “progressive” controlled academic agenda, the degenerative nature of American popular culture, and intentionally misleading the public about events, facts, figures and the importance of adhering to and restoring America’s exceptional values and historic traditions.
Thanks largely to the “progressive” Party Pravda’s reinforcing wrong headed ideas being infused into the minds of the voting public by academia and pop culture, Americans are seemingly unaware of the shift in America’s political dynamics. They are oblivious to the swing away from the now obsolete century plus old Republican versus Democrat political paradigm.

Very good article for the most part. Those who use the name progressive have done a lot of damage. Progressivism as it was during the days of Teddy Roosevelt suffered a slow decline and ultimately was hijacked by the left.
Cultural Marxists are good chameleons. When they have gone as far as they can go under one label, the invent a new one or as is the case with Franklin Roosevelts new deal liberalism they sucessfully infiltrated and inseminated leftist concepts until liberalism has become scarcely distinguishable from Marxism.
The infiltration which began in earnest with the founding of the Frankfurt school of Marxist Social Studies wasted no time in investing in the motion picture industry. Most of us have had a grand stand view of the leftist control of the media, there is no need to elaborate. Dewey's public education reforms allowed public schools to come under Federal oversight. which created fertile ground for Marxists to infiltrate and gain control of policy and curriculum. However these policy changes did not originate with elementary and high school teachers. Teachers unlike college professors do not have tenure protection for the free expression of ideas. Many years ago young Marxists were groomed for the professorship in our universities. Having the protection of tenure they had an active part in indoctrinating students and setting policy. It is true that there have been activist school teachers who have been given the grandstand, but that is not true of elementary and high school teachers in general. Teachers just a few years ago were held in high esteem by the most moral and conservative elements of our society. To be a Minister, a Rabbi, a Doctor or a Teacher were probably the most honorable of professions in the eyes of conservative American not very long ago. Yet confusingly there are those who call themselves Conservative Christians who level vitriolic attacks against all teachers. This of course is exactly what the left wants us to do, as they are currently involved in a strong attempt to purge Christian, and conservative teachers from the system.
As is often the case, school districts insist on facilitating over teaching. The walk throughs and reviews are often designed to intimidate. Teachers were not expected to spend three hours a night and 6 to 8 hours on the weekends doing lesson plans and a number of other make work things that often deny them much needed family time ten years ago.
Teaching was a pleasant and rewarding profession ten years ago. It is not a profession to be sought out now, the pressures are tremendous, and teachers are often the whipping boy for the failure of students to want to learn, and the failure of parents to discipline their children in any manner. Many undisciplined parents actually expect teachers to learn for their unmotivatable children. Veteran teachers who knew a different world when they began their teaching careers try desperately to survive the purge until they can retire without losing their hard earned pension which in not a great deal larger than a Social Security check. This my friends is the hard facts about the majority of teachers in our public schools. They have nothing to do with setting policy, and often they are Christian people who work very hard to live those Christian principals which our government is trying to purge. You may have heard a loud mouth activist teacher spouting leftist rhetoric on television but I can with confidence assure you that the loud mouth is given special privileges and probably make life miserable for her co teachers who are unheard and maintain their Christian beliefs and American values.
Christian Teachers are on the front lines in a very serious battle. When our fellow patriots deliver vitriolic and slandrous tirades against them it somewhat reminds me of rear echelon troops firing into the backs of front line troops in battle. We need to support our conservative patriot teachers, and not assist the left in any way in their purge.
I don't know how useful it is to complain about the fact that a particular person isn't doing as much as we'd like about a problem. The first thing that's required is to increase the number of people who know that the problem exists: If most everyone understood that the mass media basically lie about everything that matters, would anyone be paying attention to them? With no audience would the media be able to sell advertising to pay their people and (sometimes) make a profit?
They would not, and the problem would get fixed, one way or the other.

There is NOTHING progressive about "progressives." That is why they are consistently referred to with a lower case "p" and in quotation marks by the author.
What are you EVER going to do about it besides complain about my informing people that "progressives" have infested BOTH major political Parties in the United States and voters MUST look beyond the (R) and the (D) before they vote?
FREE or SLAVE. Communist or Capitalist. Natural or Artificial. There is no such thing as "Progressive." That's like saying "Immigration Reform" instead of Amnesty or Healthcare Reform instead of Healthcare Nationalization. Discussions like yours only add to the confusion. In any case, the question is what are you EVER going to do about it? Did George Washington post idiotic blogs or have a lucrative radio talkshow? You need to get this show on the road. The Founders knew the Executive and Legislative would do anything so the imposed a great big NO as the Judicial Branch. The Preamble limts govt. and the Constitution allows for govt. within the parameters of the Preamble (Preamble is the original INTENT of the Founders); those are Security and Infrastructure (General Welfare EXCLUDES individual welfare - govt. can't take money from one man to give it to another - simple, huh? - FREEDOM is simple). The SCOTUS was established to tell the Executive and Legislative Branches NO. The SCOTUS has failed for over 200 years. The SCOTUS failed because Justices have not been prosecuted for "legislating from the bench" and adjudicating based on ideology NOT per the simple English language of the Preamble and Constitution.
