Congressman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, the newly nominated GOP candidate for Vice President of the United 4063570466?profile=originalStates, is the right man in the right place, at the right time.

He understands that his duty as Vice President will be the calling of his generation to preserve for his children and their children the America that was given to his generation.

He acknowledges that the current administration came into office during an economic crisis.  He also realizes that today 23 million men and women are unemployed or underemployed.  He sees one in six Americans living in poverty.  He understands that millions of young college graduates cannot find work and have been forced to move back in with their parents.

He sees that without a change in leadership in the White House the next four years will be just more of the same.

As a Congressman, he has been a front row witness to the wasteful Stimulus spending, the catastrophic government takeover of health care, and the robbing of seven hundred and sixteen billion dollars from Medicare to fill the financial void left in the healthcare law despite all the law’s hidden taxes.

Ryan vowed that “Medicare is a promise, and we will honor it. A Romney-Ryan administration will protect and strengthen Medicare, for my Mom's generation, for my generation, and for my kids and yours.”

As Ryan stated midway through his nomination acceptance speech: “So our opponents can consider themselves on notice. In this election, on this issue, the usual posturing on the Left isn't going to work. Mitt Romney and I know the difference between protecting a program, and raiding it. Ladies and gentlemen, our nation needs this debate. We want this debate. We will win this debate.”

Ryan pledged that he and Presidential nominee Mitt Romney “will get America creating wealth again. With tax fairness and regulatory reform, we'll put government back on the side of the men and women who create jobs, and the men and women who need jobs.”

He confirmed that if elected, the GOP ticket has a goal to “generate 12 million new jobs over the next four years,” and “keep federal spending at 20 percent of GDP, or less.”

On foreign policy, Ryan stated that “a Romney-Ryan administration will speak with confidence and clarity. Wherever men and women rise up for their own freedom, they will know that the American president is on their side.”

In a rousing, crowd pleasing close, Ryan gave the following assurance:

“We will not duck the tough issues, we will lead.  We will not spend four years blaming others, we will take responsibility.  We will not try to replace our founding principles, we will reapply our founding principles.

The work ahead will be hard. These times demand the best of us – all of us, but we can do this. Together, we can do this.  We can get this country working again. We can get this economy growing again. We can make the safety net safe again. We can do this.  Whatever your political party, let's come together for the sake of our country. Join Mitt Romney and me. Let's give this effort everything we have. Let's see this through all the way. Let's get this done.”

Ryan’s speech was vintage Paul Ryan, calm, fact filled, plain spoken and direct.

Congressman Paul Ryan, the Republican nominee for Vice President offers proof that his generation is ready to be handed the torch of leadership.

  • Romney/Ryan is amazing people and will produce an amazing administration.  We will have two generations of leadership.  Ryan is going to be a VP that everyone will know his name.  I will be 73 when I will vote for Ryan in 2020 for president and 81 when I vote for Sarah Palin to become the first woman President.  I am not sure who I will be voting for when I am 89.  I will be able to vote when I am 89 because Romney/Ryan will get rid of obamacare.

  • The DNC is very scared by Paul Ryan.  They have surrogates like MoveOn.org attacking him ruthlessly.

    http://mjfellright.wordpress.com/2012/08/16/moveon-attacks-ryan-wit...

The AP and Yahoo are smearing him online today with this headline article: Ryan takes factual shortcuts in speech

  • So it is wrong to pray for the greater good of the nation ?

I did not suggest that Mitt needed to die just be removed from office maybe like Nixon was?

The greater good is still the greater good and I believe Ryan would be the more powerful advocate for the USA and FREEDOM

  • Ryan hit a home run last night.Showed how smart and humble he is.Really, who would make a better Pres if something happened to Fidel or to Romney?Biden or Ryan? I bet the DNC is scared about the VP debate in Oct.

  • Paul Ryan, after serving for eight years as VP, will make a fantastic President.

  • Watson I think you are sick.  You never pray for something to happen to someone that will take their life.  Do you want people to pray that you get cancer and suffer terribly for a year and then kick the bucket?  How sad your life must be.  Romney will be a great president.  I've notice men are jealous of his success and his accomplishments.  Get over it.

  • Is it wrong to pray that Mitt and Paul win this November and shortly after Jan 21 mitt falls over of something that give Ryan the oval office ?

  • I am happy about Ryan being the VP but would be even happier if he were slated to be the President.

  • Can we say "amen" . . . . . . I do.      And I am thankful for this young man who is willing to take on the great challenges that face our nation.       Let's pray for God's strength, wisdom and PROTECTION. . . .

  • i saw a confident, well versed, articulate person in ryan, i heard thuth and after truth, no blame on race, color or religious standing, i heard someone who understands what America is or was and wants it back to what it can and always has been, i heard someone that stood by the millions of military members, past, present and future, not someone condemning the very people who put their life literally on the line for this nation and as directed by the commander in chief, not someone who puts them on a watch list, calls them domestic torrorist or someone that tells the very leadership all military members follow to "prepair to fight the citizens", not someone who has authorized the purchase of millions of rounds of ammunition to government ran agencies, which has only one use so the time is now, while the repiblicans are making there objectives known, obama playing the race card is asking black church members to forgo whats right and needs to be done, to send him money and vote only for him, a move that can only be described as racist and hatefilled, lets not forget that when this started, michelle, the over weight, accusing, hate filled self described "angry black women" told barbara walters if needed, the obama people would use race and it appears that it is and will happen, will we as a nation see the black panthers acting on thier vow to "put the heel of their boots" n the neck of the whites, to "kill all the white crackers and all their babies", will we as a nation now see obama knowing he is losing bring forth the defense force he said he would need?, will the US Military see him for what he is a domestic terrorist hell bend in the destruction of the country? will militarty commanders order their troops to take arms against the citizens of the United States???

Again, there is more questions than answers, just like Obama, his past, his true father, his real following whether as a communist, socialist or fashist, muslim or anti= anything christian based/, should his refusal to allow national prayer at the WH be investigated, yet his allowing the muslim prayer and belief to occur?
