Mr. Franklin on Welfare

In my youth, I traveled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.

  • I Thank you Sir. I do not Want to be in this position but so far am Forced too in this current society. I speak more Truth on my post. God Bless You and your Family.

  • Yes sir, there is, and you - like many others I know - deserve that for the service which you provided this country.  But not SOCIAL security per se.  You have paid your dues, have served and sacrificed.  You are due these "benefits" - because you EARNED them.  You have already paid for them!!  We - as a country - owe them to you and others like yourself.  The ones you speak about - the non-disabled, Drunks and Drug addicts -are the one I refer to.  I believe Mr. Franklin's thoughts were more or less focused on the same types of individuals. My mother also suffered the indignation of loosing her benefits at the age of 70 because she had the initiative to find a job and earn some extra money working late hours at a convenience store.  Once the government found out, they took away her "earned benefits" and kept her so she could only make so much money every year.   She refused help vowing to do it on her own.  That is why I believe, so many "non-disabled, Drunks and Drug addicts" take advantage of the system and the system is too corrupt to correct.  If I offended you, my apologies sir.  It was not my intent.  I only hope that, one day, God will once again smile upon this nation and, by doing so, will help us correct the atrocities that have been committed by the corrupt individuals in government.  That their place to spend eternity is reserved.

  • It's Too Bad that there now is a real need for Social Security and Some help for those in need. I know this because I currently receive a modest $726.00/Month survivor Benefit since my wife passed away. I have received no other aid ,relying only on the VA for my medical needs being that I have 2 Honorable discharges (Army/Navy). The reason "SOME" government aid is, and must come now, because the Anti-Christian teachings and practices have driven the Church in America to be Morally and Dutifully Bankrupt. They Were, along with the now dysfunctional family, the support system of a God Fearing and once Honorable Nation. With my Disabilities it seems no company can use me any longer, leaving me to fend for myself and my 10 year old home schooled daughter. If only The non-disabled, Drunks and Drug addicts, that get checks for No Reason were off of the Welfare that most never worked to support, the aid now needed most likely would work. Even Better would be to stop outlawing the Moral Christian Church and focus the country back to our real founding fathers beliefs so that Right is again Right, and Wrong is Wrong.
