Moving On

I am currently active duty Military with justunder three years till I hit my 20. My plan from early on was to do my 20an move on. As this reality is coming closer, I seem to be thinking ofthis transition more and more. The more I consider my options the more scared I am becoming. I am not going to lie and say that I havehad it rough, because I haven't. I am one of the few individuals thatwill have gone through an entire career without having done one majordeployment. In fact I am almost embarrassed at times to mention myservice to new people that I meet because I often get the typical statements ofgratitude from those individuals. I have to look at them and tell them that nothanks is required because I haven't done anything different then mostAmericans. The reason I feel this way is I don't want to take away fromthose that have spent years separated from their families on deployments orthose that gave the ultimate sacrifice. So anyway here I am ready to retire andmove to my next stage of life and am afraid to do so, because of what ishappening to our country. While in the military we are fairly insulatedfrom the daily grind that most main street Americans experience. Thereare many incentives provided that only apply to those of us on active duty thatI am nervous about losing. I am praying everyday that the members of theTea Party will continue to grow and become fully able to effect a true and realshift in our country back to the where it belongs. So that I can retire and be able to transition without too much pain and become one of those Main Street Americans that the liberal left is now villainizing.

  • Evan, Check out www.oathkeepers.org. Men like you who served this country, standing up for the rights we were given by the constitution. Time to stand up again as a Main Street American. There is more going on than you are probably aware. Research Jane Burgermeister for the truth.
  • Obama and his ilk will pass. America need heroes not only in the ranks of the public but also in the military. In my opinion, continue with your fine service. Active duty can only be performed when there are divisons of men and women who are not on active duty but by their action support those who are called up. The Tea Party will grow and is a brand, the real strength in America is within the 100's of millions of Citizens who support America without joining the Tea Party. Evan, be a hero where ever God plants you.
