Mitt Pulls A 'Weiner'

Mitt Pulls A 'Weiner'

When Bill Clinton wagged his finger at us saying: "I - did - not - have - sex - with - that -woman", we all knew he was lying. When Anthony 'that's-not-my-weiner' said: that's not my weiner, we all knew, that was his weiner.

Now when Mitt Romney tells Fox News: "I don’t recall the incident myself, but I’ve seen the reports and I’m not going to argue with that," we all know he's a lying weiner. M-i-i-i-i-t, look at me, look at me -- you're telling me you don't recall, one way or the other, whether you were involved with a group of your buddies who held down a weaker classmate and cut off his hair during your senior year? Now Mitt knows he knows and he knows we know.

The problem for Mitt is he doesn't have the skill set, and never will, of a seasoned reprobate like a Clinton or a Weiner, so he tries to half-ass, middle-of-the-road it with an 'I don't recall'. Clinton and Weiner would have gotten in our face and snarled until the blue dress and more weiner pics showed up. However Mitt doesn't have the luxury of attending a week long Clinton - Weiner seminar. The Obama Nasties have been bragging for months that they have a stack two feet high of opposition research ready to be unloaded. This week's free haircut episode was just one tiny sheet off the very top.

Jason Horowitz, the reporter on the Post hit piece said they gave the Romney camp ample time to respond. Ample time, and this is the best the Romney team could come up with, "I don't recall"? To anyone paying close attention it's clear that Romney is simply not a skilled politician and the Romney campaign is very much overrated. Obama's boys have to be laughing it up in Chicago as they toy with Romney like a wooden marionette.

Talk radio and right-wing blogs have been saying this is trivial stuff and will have no effect on the election. They are wrong. This isn't about free haircuts and mischievous schoolboys, this is about portraying Mitt Romney as a deviant, someone who plays dirty. This week's objective was to show Romney playing dirty even as far back as high school. Just wait till the Bain Capital crap starts flying, there won't be five schoolboys telling stories of high school hijinks, but fifty businessmen recanting stories of just what a dishonest, ruthless, dirty dealer Romney was.

And finally how hard will it be to portray Romney as a dirty campaigning politician. The Obama Nasties shouldn't even get paid for that day. Perhaps this is why people who put their 'money where their mouth is' have Obama up 60 to 37 on Intrade.

You might have asked yourself, how did we get here, how did we allow for a presidential election between two lightweights with the main issues being; dogs on cars, dogs with ketchup, stay-at-home-moms, car elevators, golf, bullies, blouses, druggies, dresses? I've asked myself that question. I wish I had the answer.

  • My preferred candidates were Perry and Santorum since they were the real conservatives in the race, but we are down to the wire and left with Romney as the GOP nominee for this year.  The bottom line for me is that I do NOT intend to help Obama sink the nation the rest of the way with my vote.  Toward giving my 6 children and (so far) 9 grandchildren a chance at a better America in their future, my vote goes to the anyone but Obama campaign who can win and that just happens to be Romney this year.

  • Freedom we may hope to preserve if and when we get Comrade Obama forced out of the Oval Office and the only one with any real hope of being able to do that is Romney.  Liberty University deemed him sufficiently qualified to be the speaker at their commencement ceremonies this year and we definitely need someone who will without hesitation stand for traditional marriage which Romney has already done and that explains why he is currently polling 7 percentage points above Obama.  The GOP should get the vote of every concerned voter, to the rescuing of America.

  • i appreciate all the comments. those that made comments along the lines of: 'who cares about what romney did in h.s., i agree with you 100 percent. this was a total hit piece by the washington post, but that comes as no surprise. we know the media will once again cover for obama and do what ever they can to drag him over the finish line. with my article today i'm trying to make the point that romney is by no means a shoo-in. i personally think he is a horrible candidte. i wrote an article entitled 'why i won't vote for romney' a few wks ago. it's also on my blog here. here is the link:

Why I won't vote for Romney
Why I won't vote for Romney   Because I want to defeat Obama. The Romney argument from day one has been 'you have to vote for Romney because he's t…
  • Frankly, it is getting rediculously petty when anyhone is attempting to make such a big deal out of childhood pranks that happened in the life of a candidate decades before their candidacy for a post of office.  What matters here is who is going to be the leader of the greatest nation in the free world after the November election and our choices for that office are now either Romney or Obama.  I want a person representing me who respects life and traditional marriage and who intends to do something decisive to repair our ailing economy.  The only one with that potential of those running this year is Mitt Romney and therefore he gets my vote for the Presidency this year.  It is really just that simple.

  • Mitt was right. "I don't recall, let's get on with the real issues, Obama's failures!" The right move at the right time!

  • James, you might as well cast your vote for Obama. Sure I would love to see Ron Paul as president, but I am realistic, it's not going to happen this time around and likely never. He could  garner only minimum votes in the GOP primary. He could actually do better in the general election, and possibly win if he were the GOP candidate. A third party push simply assures an Obama victory.

As for me, I have done tons of research that doesn't include TV or partisan websites. Have you?

  • Is this a get Obama re-elected piece? I am confused as to why people consider themselves a part of the TPM if they would rather elect Obama instead of Mitt or any Republican.

Those that say they are frustrated with the GOP, that sentiment I share. We are at the point you have two choices, help get Romney elected or stay at home and insure four more years of Obama. This is an easy decision for me. Anything is better than Obama.

  • In Mitt's case, fuzzy  memories may work best.

No statement will ever be honored by the paperboys.

Why bother to make one so you can make another to correct it -- catch 22.

  • I am totally frustrated with the GOP and it's "We know better than you" attitude.  Romney wasn't my choice, either.  I don't want to sound like a pessimist, but I think we'd better get ready for 4 more years of Obama.  His "war chest" and his celebrity personna will wipe the floor up with Romney.  He's a rock star.  All of the celebrities we Americans worship are touting him.  We are sheep; we will follow anyone we think is "cool".

And to whoever wrote the part about the military coming to our defense.........they just kicked out a Marine who had the nerve to speak out against Obama on the web.  Freedom of speech doesn't apply to the military.  They are not allowed to talk down their Commander-in-Chief.  My son is retired Marine Corps, and he hasn't voted in 4 elections.  He says it's purposeless; it's out of our hands.  I'm beginning to think he's onto something.  It's pretty hard to have my beliefs challenged at my age; it's like finding out the Wizard is just a little man behind the curtain.  The country I have loved and sworn my allegiance to quite possibly stopped existing somewhere around the time I was born.  I am frightened, and lie awake nights worrying about the country my great grandkids are going to grow up in.  America will be a nice bedtime story.....a myth that some say really once existed.  The only thing that can save us now is complete and total unity and action.  I don't like to think about it....but I don't think "We the People" have it in us anymore.  We don't have the grit our forefathers had.  As long as we have our IPads and our SUVs.....we don't want to rock the boat.
