Mitt Pulls A 'Weiner'

Mitt Pulls A 'Weiner'

When Bill Clinton wagged his finger at us saying: "I - did - not - have - sex - with - that -woman", we all knew he was lying. When Anthony 'that's-not-my-weiner' said: that's not my weiner, we all knew, that was his weiner.

Now when Mitt Romney tells Fox News: "I don’t recall the incident myself, but I’ve seen the reports and I’m not going to argue with that," we all know he's a lying weiner. M-i-i-i-i-t, look at me, look at me -- you're telling me you don't recall, one way or the other, whether you were involved with a group of your buddies who held down a weaker classmate and cut off his hair during your senior year? Now Mitt knows he knows and he knows we know.

The problem for Mitt is he doesn't have the skill set, and never will, of a seasoned reprobate like a Clinton or a Weiner, so he tries to half-ass, middle-of-the-road it with an 'I don't recall'. Clinton and Weiner would have gotten in our face and snarled until the blue dress and more weiner pics showed up. However Mitt doesn't have the luxury of attending a week long Clinton - Weiner seminar. The Obama Nasties have been bragging for months that they have a stack two feet high of opposition research ready to be unloaded. This week's free haircut episode was just one tiny sheet off the very top.

Jason Horowitz, the reporter on the Post hit piece said they gave the Romney camp ample time to respond. Ample time, and this is the best the Romney team could come up with, "I don't recall"? To anyone paying close attention it's clear that Romney is simply not a skilled politician and the Romney campaign is very much overrated. Obama's boys have to be laughing it up in Chicago as they toy with Romney like a wooden marionette.

Talk radio and right-wing blogs have been saying this is trivial stuff and will have no effect on the election. They are wrong. This isn't about free haircuts and mischievous schoolboys, this is about portraying Mitt Romney as a deviant, someone who plays dirty. This week's objective was to show Romney playing dirty even as far back as high school. Just wait till the Bain Capital crap starts flying, there won't be five schoolboys telling stories of high school hijinks, but fifty businessmen recanting stories of just what a dishonest, ruthless, dirty dealer Romney was.

And finally how hard will it be to portray Romney as a dirty campaigning politician. The Obama Nasties shouldn't even get paid for that day. Perhaps this is why people who put their 'money where their mouth is' have Obama up 60 to 37 on Intrade.

You might have asked yourself, how did we get here, how did we allow for a presidential election between two lightweights with the main issues being; dogs on cars, dogs with ketchup, stay-at-home-moms, car elevators, golf, bullies, blouses, druggies, dresses? I've asked myself that question. I wish I had the answer.

  • Frankly, I'm not a Romney supporter, but whatever he did in his high school years, should NOT be an issue; the fact that he "can't remember", or chooses "not to remember" the incident, should not be a surprise.  Most guys can't even remember "who" the first girl was that he had sex with- -unless he happened to marry her!  Guys "don't" have memories for things like that!

I apologise if I gave a misunderstood impression of my refgerence to extremists.  I was refferring to political ideological and social extremists.  To be an extremist in anything other than a committment to God, our creator and his son Jesus, our savior is allowing our faith to be comprised and our core values to remain undeveloped I hope that clarifies my remarks

  • John

Mr Romney has a history of not only learning from his mistakes but in correcting them, otherwise he would be just another misguided soul of the occuppers.  His success' in business has also taught him a moral toughness which neither Oboma ore any of his minions posess.

I am sorry if I misled you, I meant to emphasize the importance of a congress of courageous free thinkers that would not be contaminated by the forbidden fruits of Washingtons apple orchard full of the snakes residing whithin.

Core values are those values that develope throughout lifes exeriences and by recognising the human weakness' that confront each of us,

I did not recpgnize thast i possesed core values until my late 60's and then after surviuviung a grade 3 cancer situation and reviewing my life as i had lived it, I discovered that in an overasll concept, I had become that which God created me to be, I wasn't always what I preferred to be but I overcame those weak moments.  "Positive Poetry" available at authorhouse.com is a collection of poetry chronicalling those life experiences that developed my core values and discovered that my commitment to God and Jesus. which was made at a very early age and which I was not realy aware of at the time as the guiding force which created that which God created me to be.

Years ago, I disavowed all of the current religious orginizations but I visited most of their services and became aquainted with a variety of parishioners, mimisters, priests, rabi's, imaqns, etc. and I tried to consolidate the best of each to create my own understanding of life as God would dictate.

I found that mormons had the most definitive commitment to God and Jesus than qany of the others, Therefor I believe that Governor Romney has yet to discover his true core values, but my understanding of the depth of commitment the Mormon church required of it parishners lead that he is the best of the candidates to develope core values that we could all admire and my faith in gods powers of guidance give me confidence that he is the best choice we have for this time in history.

My first choice of canditates was Michele Backman, because i saw in her personal life experiences and accomplishments that she had come to recognise and accept those core values that God had planned for her.  I saw aqll of the others, Romney included as wanderers along the highway of life  whose life purpose had not been clearly defined by core commitments.

And like it or not, Governor Romney appears to be the only hope of evicting the corupt occupants of the basic government structure.

  • William i'd like to address your points one at a time if I may.

He didn't have the sucess that he has had if he did not learn form previous mistakes. you can say that about almost anyone, for me that's a non statement

He know damn well that if he mirrors Obummers philosophy's that we would fire him. yes however this is of little comfort when we can't fire him for at least four yrs. he'll be the most liberal gop pres. in history, he'll be a place holder at best. when the dems accuse him of draconian cuts he'll fold like a cheap suit.

To paraphrase -- he's smart so he won't let anything bad happen. gotta tell ya it rings a little hollow here as well.

Romney would use the success' of the past to rebuild the future and would not let personal ideology's deter him from those goals

This just sounds like something from a Tony Robin's seminar.

He has shown that he is not consumed by ideology to the point of no return, he is more concious of the will of the people than any extreme liberal or extreme conservative

In other words, he has no core values, he is not trying to lead a movement, he just wants to be president for whatever reason, probably so his grandkids can say "my grandfather used to be president". Not really a valid arguement for me.

He has learned that extreme positions are not desirable in a diverse society such as ours

Now william, this is just downright offesive. Extreme? if he is not just another go along to get along republican then he is extreme. Bob were 16 trillion in debt, we've already lost our AAA rating and any attempt to stop the slide, people like you call extreme.

When members of congress are sworn in, they swear to uphold the constitution

and just how's that working out for us?

William I'm sure you're a fine man but i find your arguements little more than bumper stickers. To save this country it's going to take men with a lot more backbone and vision than someone like Romney.

  • Lets start using some common sense in this discussion, Romney is not the kind of fool that he is being portrayed as in this discussion.  He didn't have the sucess that he has had if he did not learn form previous mistakes. He know damn well that if he mirrors Obummers philosophy's that we would fire him. He is smart enough to know that tying congress up in knots would guarantee his failure and he is a sucess driven man.  If we can remake congress, he will be much more mallable to the will of congress than Obummer could ever be, he is knowledgeable enough to know that repeating the failures and politicaly deliberate mistakes that we have endured for so many years that he would go down in whatever history remains as the man who destroyed the dream of freedom which has made this country Great. Romney would use the success' of the past to rebuild the future and would not let personal ideology's deter him from those goals,  He would acdept the will of congress to move the country forward as he has done with so many business ventures and will not practice the idioteology that Obummer embraces.  Those who think that Romney will be a carbon copy of Obummer should start to use their God given intelligence and reason, he is to smart to do that, hs knows that we, the people will hold him accountable for his performance.  He has shown that he is not consumed by ideology to the point of no return, he is more concious of the will of the people than any extreme liberal or extreme conservative,  He has learned that extreme positions are not desirable in a diverse society such as ours, so lets stop panning the man  and give him people in congress that he can work with for the benifit of all.  The reality of this election is the make up of congress and we know from experience that Oboma only bows down to despots, and ignores the duly elected representative of the people, with some notable exceptions.  The mess we are in is not the doing of any presidential administration but it has come about by the incompetent self satisfying members of congress. When I was sworn in the USAF, I swore to uphold the constitution of the United stsates of America, not the agenda of the president.

When members of congress are sworn in, they swear to uphold the constitution of the Unite States of America, not the agenda of the president or any political orginization.  We the people have to take off the blinders of personqal affiliations and stasrt thinking of the total picture

  • i voted for mccain, i voted for dole, romney broke the camels back

  • I understand Ron Paul ended his campaign today, but he says he's going to the convention to present his views.  Who knows?  Anyone still believe in miracles?

  • John. as I said. Get RP on the ticket as the GOP candidate and I will gladly vote for him. I will not do anything that helps Obama have a second term. I love my country too much for that. Do what your heard demands. That's all I can say. All of those that refused to vote for McCain, look what you contributed to.

  • tlc, i think it does matter who is president that why i'm not voting for romney. i'm going to vote for the best 3rd party candidate that emerges and so is the huge conservative base. you can join us or  go over the cliff with the gop and romney. your argument about losing the house because we won't vote for romney i find silly. we're going to vote for the best repub. in every race. romney will have no coattails. is it our fault that the base will not be energized with romney as the candidate. should we fine people if they don't become energized about romney? frankly it's very disappointing that the tea party has turned out to be so squishy, but there are enough tea partiers that will finally stand up to the gop this time. you never really answered my question though, what exactly are the horrors that obama will push forward in a second term that can't be stopped by a rep. congress?

  • John, your words are noted. Clearly you think the country is going to be ok no matter who is president. No horrors to be expected from an Obama second term and the democrats taking back control of the house. Go on and tread water with Obama and the democrats. I'm just so glad that isn't the thinking of most of the TPM. If you don't mind I'll keep fighting. I hope your arms don't tire and you sink.
