Baseball legend Hank Aaron gained fame and fortune with quick, powerful wrists and precise timing which enabled him to react to a baseball hurled at 100 MPH, often crushing the ball out of the park. In 1974, Aaron broke the home run record of Babe Ruth; Aaron’s record has since been supplanted by Barry Bonds with a big assist from steroids.

Regrettably, Aaron took his eye off the ball recently to engage in a bit of race-baiting against Republicans.

As reported:

The firestorm erupted after 80-year-old Aaron, the senior vice president of the Braves, said in an interview with USA Today that America today is "not that far removed" from the racial intolerance of the mid-20th century.

On the 40th anniversary of his home-run record, he said, "Sure, this country has a black president, but when you look at a black president, President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all of the Republicans with the way he's treated. The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts."

Referring to current race relations in the country, he added, "We have moved in the right direction, and there have been improvements. But we still have a long ways to go in the country."

To prove his point, Aaron cited the decrease in U.S.-born black baseball players as evidence of modern-day structural racism.

There are only 67 black players in the major leagues, with three teams not represented by a single African-American player: the San Francisco Giants, Arizona Diamondbacks and St. Louis Cardinals, according to USA Today.”
So, Republicans are responsible for the fact that there are only 67 black players in the big leagues, and that the number of blacks has decreased?
POLL: Will Lois Lerner go to jail to protect Obama?

And it’s OK to blame the GOP for the fact that the San Francisco Giants, with a long and stories history of employing black superstars such as Barry Bonds, Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, et al.,  has no black players on its roster at the present time?

Shame on you, John Boehner and Mitch McConnell!

Just where is black Attorney General, Eric Holder, when you need him?  Covering up his complicity in the IRS scandal, or attacking Voter ID laws and other measures taken to prevent voter fraud?

Let Aaron’s cry be a Clarion call to Holder and the US Congress: We must have an investigation to determine why there only 67 black players in baseball!

Let guilty GOP members be perk- walked off the floors of the US House and Senate to send a strong message: Having only 67 black ball players in the big leagues is unacceptable and possibly unconstitutional. These human rights violations may require black president Barack Obama to issue Executive Orders to bring equality and justice to America’s past time!

Perhaps Holder and Barack could also take a cursory look at the National Basketball Association where blacks represent 90 % of the affiliated players?  Or would that be racist?

The Good:

Let’s discuss the “Good” first, it always refreshing to hear about the positive events in our Country that give us hope and a reason for defending our Nation.

Dr. Ben Carson is definitely in the spotlight, quietly, methodically working to repair our Nation’s healthcare system.   It’s so refreshing to see an American Patriot step forward to help us take back our Country.   Dr. Carson is a bottom line man, no BS – he points out here’s where we’re at, here’s where we should be and here’s the way to resolve the healthcare issue.  He’s definitely a man that should be supported the next few years.

So proud of our young teen who won a gold medal at the Winter Olympics, America’s teen Mikaela Shiffrin becomes youngest to win gold in women's slalom.  Here’s one youngster that never gives up in the quest of the American dream.  She’s an inspiration to young and old.

Ligety, a 29-year-old from Utah learned how to overcome obstacles and fought to the end winning Gold in the giant slalom – Ted was the first American to win gold in this event.  Ted Ligety is an American to be proud of – believing that hard work does make dreams come true.

Maddie Bowman won the first gold in women’s Olympic halfpipe skiing – Maddie truly had wings and gave tribute Canadian freestyle skiing icon Sarah Burke who had died in a training accident. Maddie said when speaking of her Gold medal, this one’s for Sarah.  There are other Americans this winter who have won gold, silver or bronze and to them I say, “We are so proud of you.”  “All of you young Americans give us hope and joy – your pride in your Country warms our hearts, thanks.”

The largest teacher’s union stands up against Common Core saying the standards are “completely botched.  This is a good thing; hopefully they’ll join us in getting rid of Common Core.

The Bad:

IRS remains quite a contentious subject – Obama’s “not a smidgeon” of corruption proves to be another monstrous lie.  Something of interest about the IRS refusing to give Conservative groups the 501(c) (4)s approval is this – they illegally put the Conservative organizations on hold for years under the pretense of “inappropriate criteria.”

In 2011 Obama’s ½ brother Malik Obama received tax exempt status in about 30 days from Lois Lerner.  Lois actually made this retroactive back to 2008 – giving Malik a free pass from any tax evasion problems since he and Auntie Sarah were raising money in the US illegally claiming to be charities. Of further interest is Obama’s “auntie” or step grandmother in Kenya was given tax exempt status also called the Mama Sarah Obama Foundation.  If checked both of these people connected to terrorists!

Obamacare continues its pathway of destruction, harming the medical field, families, our youth and businesses.  Every day is a new day and new edict from Barack Obama – no one could understand Obamacare when it was crafted and on one can understand it after its unsuccessful launch October of 2013.  What we do know it’s laden with hidden taxes - many lost their doctors, their insurers and have been slapped with higher insurance prices and higher deductibles.

Obama is trying to strong arm businesses by threatening them if they lay people off due to the Obamacare epidemic – since when does the Commander in Chief have a right to threaten fellow Americans who are trying to keep our Country afloat?

NSA has certainly invaded our privacy – emails, phone calls and many if not all of our Social sites are being monitored.  They’re everywhere, they’re ever where and it’s unlikely that they discontinue their invasion of our private lives.

The Ugly:

Four Americans killed in the Benghazi terrorist attack and many murdered in the Fast and Furious gunrunner operation – this is two of the ugliest scandals in our Country.  Five bankers dead in the last few weeks, a JP Morgan executive is the 5th one murdered – this is serious http://www.homelandsecurityus.com/archives/10482

It’s hard to define all that’s Obama and his Administration has done to this Nation in just a bit over five years.  They have attacked our Religion, our freedom of speech, our 2nd amendment, our businesses, our healthcare and our schools have been invaded.

The latest maneuver by Obama is to monitor our Newsrooms, news staff and staffers – they will decide what information Americans need, if it’s newsworthy and demand that news venues disclose their news philosophy.  Here’s the good news Federal Communications Commission put this invasion of our privacy on hold.

Our Government has been infiltrated with the Muslim Brotherhood, Communists, Socialists and at this time whether we want to admit it or not, Americans have reluctantly given their beautiful Nation over to a “Dictator.” We’re no longer in control, our freedoms are disintegrating and big Government has taken over…

It’s like sitting here totally helpless, being forced to watch a “horror” movie – the House of Representatives would be more aptly named the “House of thieves.”  They grab our money (which they are in charge of) and willingly, almost gleefully hand it over to Obama & the DEMS – case in point thanks to the House our debt ceiling was raised again without any provisions to budget for the increase, just more free money to Obama & gang.  After all, why should they worry – it’s just our money!

The behavior of the GOP is by far the “ugliest” most disgraceful and disconcerting issue that Americans have at this time. Our Country is under siege by both Republicans and Democrats.  Starting with the stimulus, the invasive Government grants, the debt ceiling increases there’s nothing to show for it but a bunch of glorified politicians in our White House frittering our money away for political gain.

The Republicans aren’t good stewards of our money; they continue their bloody spending seemingly enjoying every minute of it with the DEMS.  They don’t monitor Obamacare, the money being sent to Muslim terrorists, the misuse of our stimulus bill, the pork crap, the green scams, the programs to assist Americans during the housing bubble and the list goes on.  They’ve definitely waged war against America and all Americans.

Bottom-line is this - the House controls the purse strings or better yet doesn’t control anything.   When we hear from Republicans it is always after the fact – after our money has been spent on Obama and Democrats reckless pursuit of a “false ideology.”

Time to go to Washington DC and clean out the garbage, the gophers and the rats in our icebox.

I was listening to Rush Limbaugh (Wednesday Dec. 17, 2013) and he had a very interesting call from a woman relating to a survey Limbaugh discussed about men not arguing with or disagreeing with their wife.  The survey found that when men never challenged the wife’s decisions the marriage got worse instead of getting better as is the common belief.  http://www.today.com/health/marriage-dilemma-it-better-be-happy-or-right-2D11758343?cid=eml_nhh_20131218   The caller made the point that men who never stand up for their opinions and beliefs don’t get respect from women.

A Few Good Men & Women

4063796301?profile=original

It’s rather difficult to realize that the Old Democratic Party believed in the Jeffersonian Democracy – they believed in our Constitution, very limited executive authority, state’s rights and civil liberties.

They realized that our economy would flourish with limited business and commerce regulations – they believed in very limited control of businesses and commerce.  Those were the good old days when some staunch Patriots weren’t afraid to stand up and fight the devil toe to toe.

As time went on and our Nation suffered through the Great Depression and Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal, the Democrats did an absolute about face favoring big government taking control of businesses and a nanny state.  They became lax on the Constitution sort of taking on an attitude, “We’ll do as we please, thank you.”

Then we had the GOP (Grand Old Party) who believed in fiscal responsibility, also free enterprise and they did not like the welfare state idea at all.  They truly were a grand old party pretty much dominating the Democrats for 70 years plus until, like the Democrats they lost their way.  No longer were they public servants – they became political leeches.

The Grand Old Party eventually eroded leaving a bunch of misfits who concentrated on keeping their cushy positions in the White House while America was attacked from all sides by the Socialist, Communists and Liberals.

GOP joined the politically correct crowd and turned their once strong party into a grasshopper elite club jumping from one side to the other without protecting our Nation and Americans – they are the " has beens" who talked a good talk, but didn’t walk the walk.

Tis true that the Jefferson crowd and the Grand Old Party were made up of a few good men who believed in our Constitution, limited Executive control and limited regulations on businesses and commerce, but both parties self -destructed and  now America we have a big mess on our hands.

History is repeating itself and in 2014 we have a few good men and some awesome women who believe in limited Government, secured borders, a budget, our Military, limited control of businesses and commerce along with our freedoms and rights as handed down to us by our forefathers in a roadmap called a Constitution.

The sad part of this story is this – these Patriots are being beaten up unmercifully by Democrats, the Old Republican establishment and the Liberal News media.  These brave men and women realize that our Nation is tottering on a weak foundation – they know that the Obama Administration with the able assistance of the Democrats, Old Republican establishment and Liberal News media have kept Americans divided and distracted for five years.

As I’ve said many times,  the war is on our turf, we must stand up and fight for our Nation and our children.  Let’s not leave a fallen Nation for our children, but a legacy that they can wrap their arms around and embrace with pride.

Support these few brave men and women in their fight to “take back our country America.”  It’s time to restore our freedom, our families and put our Nation back as “One Nation under God with Liberty and Justice for All.”

Americans it’s up to us to support these Patriots, take back our Government and run our Country.  We’ve been AWOL for too many years and now it’s time to fight for the greatest Nation in the World – let’s be the Nation on the hill that all eyes are upon… 4063796326?profile=original

Thank You, Mr President!

the_dream

I wanted to inspire all you lovely readers out there ... We are licking our wounds after yet another disappointing show by our, um, Representatives in DC. I participate in the Special Operations Speaks group on Facebook.

They posted the following, including a link to the Bill referenced, and one Patriot replied with a stunning and fresh outlook which I echo! Mr. Tusa shares an inspirational thought ... ENJOY!

"H.R.2775

, new law flips the power to raise the debt ceiling. It gives the President the power to raise the debt ceiling by fiat. The limp noodle Congress, then by passing a joint resolution, can send a bill to the President to sign to reverse the President's fiat...Which he will VETO.

The President has the power of the purse."

This President continues to shred the US Constitution at every convenience. Will he succeed in his intention to destroy this nation? it's up to US - We, the People!

Michael Tusa's reply: Thank You Mr. President! Yes, I said THANK YOU. Never before in the history of the United States of America has this nation been so sharply divided, a Congress so torn apart, people so passionate about the issues, whether you stand on the right or the left, conservative or liberal, Republican or Democrat. We all are concerned about the direction our nation is taking. This will increase the tone of debates and politicking from the local neighborhood group leaders all the way to Washington D.C. and all races in-between. People will not be so "ho-hum" when listening to debates, examining the issues, making uninformed decisions when going to the polls. As of this October and the fiasco of the "Divided House", "Divided Senate", and "Divisive President" WE have listened, WE have learned, WE have paid great sacrifices in money, paychecks, jobs, taxes, blood, sweat and tears, cost of living, and peace of mind knowing we live in the greatest nation on earth. BUT, we are AMERICANS. We WILL sacrifice, we WILL bear the cost, we WILL emerge from this fog ever so stronger, ever so more determined to keep our Constitution and Bill of Rights on solid ground, more determined to add height to the Statue of Liberty that she will stand above all nations, build a flagpole flying Old Glory that can be seen from horizon to horizon. And be the example of truth, justice, liberty and freedom that the world has known and expects of us. A nation where God can look down, smile and say "I BUILT THAT!" Yes sir, we thank you Mr. President for a painful wake-up call. A call that will result in truth, justice, and liberty that will stand tall in the future elections and cowardice and dismay will stand shaking and quivering in its boots. Lovers of the United States of America! We ARE coming back. We are coming back like the rain in a hurricane, we are coming back like every grain of sand we shed blood over on Iwo Jima, Normandy, Saint-Mihiel, San Juan Hill, Fort Sumter, Yorktown, Lexington and countless other battles. For all of you unbelievers, all of you non patriots. Hell IS coming. Its coming to the issues, the debates, the street corners, door to door, house to house, business to business. The American Voters are coming with it.

Thank you again Mr. President. I leave you with the words of another famous person who also angered the American public. Japanese Imperial Navy Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto "I fear all we have done today is to awaken a great, sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve".......

Note: I have been asked to give my permission to share this post. The word and permission is given my fellow PATRIOTS. Godspeed to the retaking of America!!!

So are we AWAKE yet? Ready to make some tough decisions?

Recent reports suggest that the reported death of amnesty in the US House may have been a bit premature.

Indeed, it appears that some Republicans, all of whom should know better, are favorably disposed toward a sweeping “Get out of Jail” card for tens of millions of invading criminals who have ignored US borders and immigration laws, and who all too often avail themselves of public services to which they are not entitled.

American sovereignty, the rule of law, and fundamental fairness seem to be out of vogue in the scrambled minds of some otherwise good Republicans.

There is a word of caution that must be delivered to any and all wobbly Republicans considering the unseemly surrender of superior American values and culture to third-world parasites from south of our borders:

Namely, the insidious disaster known as ObamaCare cannot survive without enrolling tens of millions of uneducated peasants currently known as illegal aliens!

Which is why Marxist pin heads like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have pushed amnesty so vigorously. Progressives must import impoverished, non- English speaking criminals in order to make a go of the newly minted entitlement needed to put the finishing touches on the demise of the greatest society in human history.

Thus, to good Republicans who oppose ObamaCare, remember: A vote for amnesty is a vote for ObamaCare!

Home of the Brave, not so much in the Senate

While we do have war hero's and I thank them for their service, it seems like the brave my have tired. No one will directly challenge Obama, Holder or other officials who ignore the citizens will, laws and Congress. They let agencies like the EPA run over them and citizens without recourse.

Where have the brave gone, aside from our current military people. Obama will be cutting their ranks and continues to make their job harder.

We need rescue from this administration. Obama will speak with Iranian terrorist and not the GOP, really?

They both voted for closure which let the bill go forward for a vote. As Cruz pointed out that would have been the time and place to stop the bill. Instead they voted to let it go to the floor where 51 votes was enough  to pass it. Now they can tell us they voted against the law, but essentially they worked with Reid and it passed.

Obama made a speech this week and I realized it was almost the same as his speech in 2005 and 2008. All talk, no action. He did say the GOP is doing nothing and chasing false stories, like IRS, NSA, Benghazi and others. Of course, these are real issues and need to be investigated, not just distractions. He wants jobs and says he wants jobs and then stymie's jobs at every turn, e.g., holding up the Keystone pipeline, excessive EPA regulations, Obama care ( Major job killer and economic killer), Illegal EEOC appointments and rulings, wasted money on non viable non economic alternative energy, war on coal, limitation of energy production on federal lands, slow energy permits, US wealth distribution, war on the US military ( Cuts in critical areas and reduction of 12 brigades), continued assault on States rights, i.e., the AG filing court rulings on Texas election system to force Federal approval, Obama and his race baiting in Texas and everywhere, e...tc.,.   The President said the GOP has no plan, but they do and have pushed a budget. We need a leader and a person to work out our issues and solve problems. I regret that we do not have such a leader in Obama. Leading from behind is not leadership.
WE could have an energy policy, eliminate or reduce the *EPA, Energy and Education departments . Set goal to be energy independent and use all natural resources. Allow the market place to develop future alternative energy and greatly reduce federal tax dollars. Drop ethanol subsidies and requirement for fuel. These savings could be used for food and aid where needed.  These * are fairly recent new departments and have billions in budgets. They should be hollowed out, distribute the money in block grants to the States and allow the States to control environmental, energy and education with limited federal oversight.

Time for Old Soldier McCain to Fade Away

Senator John McCain (R, AZ) continues his criticism of fellow Republicans for filibustering confirmation of CIA Director John O. Brennan over the White House’s drone policy.

4063673156?profile=originalWhile interviewing with the Huffington Post, McCain used the term “wackos” to describe Senator Rand Paul (R, KY), Senator Ted Cruz (R, TX) and Representative Justin Amash (R, MI).

“They were elected, nobody believes that there was a corrupt election, anything else…But I also think that when, you know, it’s always the wacko birds on right and left that get the media megaphone,” said McCain.

When pressed for clarification on who the wackos are, McCain responded “Rand Paul, Cruz, Amash, whoever.”

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/03/08/mccain-calls-paul-cruz-amash-wacko-birds/

It seems like just yesterday that McCain was relishing his role as maverick, while using the megaphone provided him by the media to gain the 2008 GOP presidential nomination.

Some Republicans, led by McCain and Senator Lindsey Graham (R, SC), worry that the filibuster, which focused lots of positive attention on Paul, might end up reflecting poorly on the party.

Might these be the same Republicans who nominated Gerald Ford in 1976, sought to nominate John Connally or George H.W. Bush while opposing Ronald Reagan in 1980, nominated Bob Dole, John McCain and Mitt Romney?

Clearly, the most successful nominee in that bunch was the most Conservative: Reagan.  That the GOP continues to cling to the notion that presidential electoral success hinges on nominating the most moderate candidate largely explains their lack of recent success.

To his credit, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, who may prove to fit into the Conservative new blood category, described the filibuster as “completely awesome.”

Meanwhile, in a radio interview with former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, Paul responded to McCain: “You know, I think he’s just on the wrong side of history, and on the wrong side of this argument, really.”

Paul continued by saying he respects both McCain’s military service and his legislative record, but stressed that McCain’s experience does not mean he is always right: “I treat Senator McCain with respect. I don’t think I always get the same in return.”

Americans on both sides of the aisle honor McCain for his service.  However, McCain must realize that it is time to pass the torch of leadership to a new generation of Conservative leaders demonstrably capable of filling his seemingly vacated role as maverick while leading Republicans to electoral victory.

Mullin Disappoints Once Again

I attended a town hall meeting in Claremore on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 featuring Markwayne Mullin, the newly elected congressman from Oklahoma’s 2nd District.  Some of his statements sounded strange coming from a “conservative” but one response to a question bothered me more than the rest.

A man asked Mullin about the executive orders being used by Barack Obama to by-pass Congress, and what can be done to nullify them.  Mullin’s response was that the way to stop an EO was for the House to pass legislation nullifying the order, then send it to the Senate where Dingy Harry Reid would refuse to allow it to be heard.  And even if it could be passed by the Senate it would have to go to Obama for his signature.

4063572656?profile=originalThe recent RNC Convention in Tampa, Florida was missing one of its most essential conservative ingredients to showcase the essence of the conservative 2010 Republican comeback story.  That comeback was largely due to the grassroots organizing tenacity of Sarah Palin.  Whatever the rationale used by the RNC or Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s campaign strategists to keep Palin’s presence on the sidelines, it missed the point of the narrative.  It was therefore incomplete.

There were remarkable women and others, who spoke at the RNC Convention, but Palin is more than a good speech, she is a foundation builder.

Imagine for a moment, if Sarah Palin and the Tea Party Patriots around this nation had listened to the radicalized left and liberal media pundits.  What if they had done “what they were told” to not make noise, to not organize, to keep their passion for America’s future and potential demise to themselves?  The American conservative comeback of 2010 would have been a “might have been” instead of a solid building block for reemerging American patriotism that the movement has become.

Sarah Palin not only helped developed the new political conservative narrative for America, her heart and her soul is the heart and soul of every American patriot who does not need to watch a political convention to be told and shown what is relevant to them.  Rather, the conservative patriots know full well that the true conservative American Convention is a convention held in their homes and communities each and every single day.

What if America had been subjected to Democrat retention of the House in 2010? What if President Obama had been able to continue to steam roll his misguided agenda into other areas beside Obamacare’s?  A House lead by Speaker Nancy Pelosi could easily have given more trillion dollar bailouts to union leaders, government entitlement handouts and granted illegal aliens first in line job training, education and full citizenship rights.  States would be forbidden to arrest and maintain illegal aliens and all borders would be open and free to any illegal alien that wanted to take advantage of America’s welfare and healthcare systems.
The U.S. Constitution would have been even more abused than Obama’s has already done by failing to enforce laws passed by congress, and usurping federal laws by declaring that nearly one million illegal aliens can avoid a federal constitutionally passed law by breaking it through his executive order.  His rationale, “It’s the right thing to do”   usurped the U.S. Constitution’ separation of powers, and made socialist edicts the new law of the land.

President George Washington’s warned against this type of governmental usurpation of the U.S. Constitution.  He stated in his Farewell Address of  1796:, “But let there be no change by usurpation; for though this in one instance may be the instrument of good, it is the customary weapon by which free governments are destroyed. The precedent must always greatly overbalance in permanent evil any partial or transient benefit which the use can at any time yield.

The Tea Party take over in the House with its congressional candidates prevented a much greater devolution of the nation’s constitution.  Instead it was the steady vigilance of the Tea Party Nation in states across America and Sarah Palin who worked tirelessly to insure those victorious outcomes were secured..

Most critically is the religious and moral foundation on which Palin’s pursuit of American conservative convention lies:  President Washington covered this necessity in his 1796 Farewell Speech.  He stated “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness -- these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens.

As one can easily surmise, Palin’s embrace of this essential religious and morally principled doctrine successfully guided her in 2010 as well into historic primary wins in states like Texas with Ted Cruz for U.S. Senate.

Instead in the months leading up to the RNC Convention in Tampa, the RNC and Romney camp appeared to focus more on building an assault strategy to showcase at the convention.  They danced away from any attempt to embrace or acknowledge the solid results of a Tea Party conservative revolution and Sarah Palin, a conservative leader who successfully rekindled the Washingtonian beliefs and philosophy“Let it simply be asked, Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice?”
The rekindling of support for those time honored values are more than just a sound bite.  Sarah Palin’s work is solid and there is a new conservative dynamic taking place at dinner tables across America.  The conservative American Convention is televised on social media sites in the tens of millions. The patriots share news on these social networks which are unafraid, un-bought and unbent.

This new social dynamic is the home, where the renaissance of conservative principles, religious ideals and values is the foundation which is as old as the bible and as contemporary as this morning’s kitchen breakfast discussion.  So, in many ways, Sarah Palin’s appearance for one week out of a presidential campaign at a national convention was not as important as keeping her out building and supporting conservative leaders across America.

As her guide, Palin has stood and continues to stand on conservative principles that count in American homes.  As Washington so eloquently phrased it, “And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”

America will win against an Obama White House and administration that has abandoned moral and religious principles.  America will win in all the November general elections to follow, by listening to the clarion call of an American conservative leader. Palin has traded attempting to fit into the mainstream political culture, and instead has helped create a culture that is true, that is authentically patriotic.

Sarah Palin’s heart and soul is as true as the words and leadership that America’ heroic founding father and first President offered, “The name of American, which belongs to you in your national capacity, must always exalt the just pride of patriotism.”  This is Sarah Palin and this is her American Convention.

Romney, Ryan, Republicans-Ready to Lead

4063571973?profile=originalWith the strong backing of an energized Republican Party and a diverse team of rising stars, candidate Mitt Romney formally accepted the GOP nomination to be President of the United States.

Recalling the excitement and optimism of the presidential race of four years ago, Romney pointed out how those elevated expectations and the bevy of promises that came with those expectations have led to disappointment over opportunities lost:

“Every family in America wanted this to be a time when they could get ahead a little more, put aside a little more for college, do more for their elderly mom who's living alone now or give a little more to their church or charity.

Every small business wanted these to be their best years ever, when they could hire more, do more for those who had stuck with them through the hard times, open a new store or sponsor that Little League team.

Every new college graduate thought they'd have a good job by now, a place of their own, and that they could start paying back some of their loans and build for the future.

This is when our nation was supposed to start paying down the national debt and rolling back those massive deficits.  This was the hope and change America voted for.  It's not just what we wanted. It's not just what we expected.

It's what Americans deserved.”

Romney shared the pain and hardship everyday Americans have felt over the past four years as the result of the current administration’s failed economic policies:

“You deserved it because during these years, you worked harder than ever before. You deserved it because when it cost more to fill up your car, you cut out movie nights and put in longer hours. Or when you lost that job that paid $22.50 an hour with benefits, you took two jobs at 9 bucks an hour and fewer benefits. You did it because your family depended on you. You did it because you're an American and you don't quit. You did it because it was what you had to do.

But driving home late from that second job, or standing there watching the gas pump hit 50 dollars and still going, when the realtor told you that to sell your house you'd have to take a big loss, in those moments you knew that this just wasn't right.”

He then pointed to the morning light peeking over the horizon by reminding Americans “Now is the moment when we can stand up and say, ‘I'm an American. I make my destiny. And we deserve better! My children deserve better! My family deserves better. My country deserves better!’”

Romney then went on a brief autobiographical journey.  He reminded Americans who know him, and 4063572066?profile=originalrevealed to those who do not, that his life has been a familiar American story.  The son of immigrants, whose parents worked hard to give him opportunities they never had.  By example they taught him the value of hard work and enterprise, and the meaning of love.   He met the love of his life, and with her raised a happy, loving family of their own.  He summed up by saying “And that's how it is in America. We look to our communities, our faiths, our families for our joy, our support, in good times and bad. It is both how we live our lives and why we live our lives. The strength and power and goodness of America has always been based on the strength and power and goodness of our communities, our families, our faiths.”

Next, he outlined the story of his business career, where struggles to launch Bain Capital were rewarded by success: “That business we started with 10 people has now grown into a great American success story. Some of the companies we helped start are names you know. An office supply company called Staples – where I'm pleased to see the Obama campaign has been shopping; The Sports Authority, which became a favorite of my sons. We started an early childhood learning center called Bright Horizons that First Lady Michelle Obama rightly praised. At a time when nobody thought we'd ever see a new steel mill built in America, we took a chance and built one in a corn field in Indiana. Today Steel Dynamics is one of the largest steel producers in the United States.”

Romney chose that moment to remind Americans that attacking success is “the centerpiece of the President's entire re-election campaign… Is it any wonder that someone who attacks success has led the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression?  In America, we celebrate success, we don't apologize for it.”

He then reminded voters “That is why every president since the Great Depression who came before the American people asking for a second term could look back at the last four years and say with satisfaction: "you are better off today than you were four years ago."  Except Jimmy Carter.  And except this president.”

Mitt Romney understands that for America to work and for Americans to succeed, they need jobs.  “Lots of jobs,” and how the current administration’s policies “…have not helped create jobs, they have depressed them.”

Romney put American voters on fair notice when he warned them:

“To the majority of Americans who now believe that the future will not be better than the past, I can guarantee you this: if Barack Obama is re-elected, you will be right.”

Romney then outlined his five point plan to revitalize the American economy:

“First, by 2020, North America will be energy independent by taking full advantage of our oil and coal and gas and nuclear and renewables.

Second, we will give our fellow citizens the skills they need for the jobs of today and the careers of tomorrow. When it comes to the school your child will attend, every parent should have a choice, and every child should have a chance.

Third, we will make trade work for America by forging new trade agreements. And when nations cheat in trade, there will be unmistakable consequences.

Fourth, to assure every entrepreneur and every job creator that their investments in America will not vanish as have those in Greece, we will cut the deficit and put America on track to a balanced budget.

And fifth, we will champion SMALL businesses, America's engine of job growth. That means reducing taxes on business, not raising them. It means simplifying and modernizing the regulations that hurt small business the most. And it means that we must rein in the skyrocketing cost of healthcare by repealing and replacing Obamacare.”

On foreign policy, Romney criticized the current administration for their failure to slow Iran's nuclear threat, for how they have disrespected allies like Israel and Poland, and sought to appease Russia.  He assured Americans that “Under my administration, our friends will see more loyalty, and Mr. Putin will see a little less flexibility and more backbone.”

4063572028?profile=originalRomney concluded his speech before a cheering crowd and to a standing ovation:

“The America we all know has been a story of the many becoming one, uniting to preserve liberty, uniting to build the greatest economy in the world, uniting to save the world from unspeakable darkness.

Everywhere I go in America, there are monuments that list those who have given their lives for America. There is no mention of their race, their party affiliation, or what they did for a living. They lived and died under a single flag, fighting for a single purpose. They pledged allegiance to the UNITED States of America.

That America, that united America, can unleash an economy that will put Americans back to work, that will once again lead the world with innovation and productivity, and that will restore every father and mother's confidence that their children's future is brighter even than the past.

That America, that united America, will preserve a military that is so strong, no nation would ever dare to test it.

That America, that united America, will uphold the constellation of rights that were endowed by our Creator, and codified in our Constitution.

That united America will care for the poor and the sick, will honor and respect the elderly, and will give a helping hand to those in need.

That America is the best within each of us. That America we want for our children.

If I am elected President of these United States, I will work with all my energy and soul to restore that America, to lift our eyes to a better future. That future is our destiny. That future is out there. It is waiting for us. Our children deserve it, our nation depends upon it, the peace and freedom of the world require it. And with your help we will deliver it. Let us begin that future together tonight.”

With a strong supporting cast, with an energized Republican Party and a diverse team of rising stars behind him, Mitt Romney demonstrated why on January 20, 2013 he is the man best prepared to sit in the Oval Office.

Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and Republicans are ready to lead.  It is time for the current administration and their “progressive” allies to either follow or get out of the way.

Christie to keynote, no slot for Palin

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will deliver the keynote address at the Republican National Convention in Tampa later this month, while Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) will introduce Mitt Romney.

100922_chris_christie_hand_ap_328.jpg

“I’ll try to tell some very direct and hard truths to people in the country about the trouble that we’re in and the fact that fixing those problems is not going to be easy for any of them,” Christie told USA Today in an interview announcing his speech. He said he will describe his experiences in New Jersey as evidence that “the American people are ready to confront those problems head-on and endure some sacrifice.”

"As governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie has proven how bold Republican leadership gets results. He has fearlessly tackled his state’s most difficult challenges, while looking out for hardworking taxpayers,” said Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, in a statement announcing the governor’s selection.

In terms of importance, the keynote speech is seen as second only to the speech of the presidential or vice-presidential nominee. It was the keynote speech in 2004 at the DNC that propelled Obama into public view, which should emphasize the importance many attribute to the keynote speaking slot.

Christie is a very popular figure in the GOP. Some have even gone so far as to nick-name him a "rock star of the republican party." His popularity has not however been enough to stave off complaints about his being picked for the keynote position. These complaints have revolved around others who certain conservatives
believe are better suited to speak at the convention, namely, one Sarah Palin.

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRyGPRAfB_lJhJEvs2fiILBWyst12sCjSd3w9hQmdm24lw6P1hy&width=342The former governor of Alaska remains a Tea Party favorite, but still seems to be out of place with the GOP establishment. Some have discussed the idea that perhaps Palin is simply too conservative for the establishment of the Republican Party, and so some conservative bloggers have cried out to 'Let Sarah Speak.'

Palin is seen by 'grass-roots' conservatives as an electrifying figure that would excite the party base. Her not speaking at the Republican National Convention is seen by these same conservatives as a signal from the party establishment that they do not truly represent their interests in Washington. Some see her not speaking as a signal that party officials are not comfortable with the former governor.  Whatever the case, Palin fans are certainly upset.

“As I’ve repeatedly said, I support Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in their efforts to replace President Obama at the ballot box, and I intend to focus on grassroots efforts to rally independents and the GOP base to elect Senate and House members so a wise Congress is ready to work with our new president to get our country back on the right path," said Palin in a statement to Fox News’s Greta van Susteren

Ron Paul

Ron Paul is still in the running (kind of).

His supporters love him, there's no doubting that. He's got a bunch of people excited about his 'We are the Future Rally' set to take place in Tampa in tandem with the RNC. His main goal seems to be to try to set party platforms with the delegates he collected and support he's garnered across the country.

You can see details about his rally here: http://www.ronpaul2012.com/2012/07/06/ron-paul-tampa-rally/

I don't know that he'll have a large impact on what Romney and Ryan set out to do. Whether he runs as a Libertarian or a Republican, he does have some strong ideals that he's consistently clung to over his career, and for that consistency he has many people's respect, including my own (this does not mean I think I will vote for him instead of Romney).

Some people think he'll try to wedge in a speaking spot for his son Rand, as they try to gain favor with party leaders so that they can further their national goals in the coming elections. I guess we'll see.

Whatever the outcome is for Paul post-convention I think he's an interesting and noteworthy political figure to keep track of. If he does not go on the ballot officially for the national election in November, which I think is unlikely, it will also be interesting to see how many people write him in in order to spite the establishment political parties and candidates.

I don't know that voting for Ron Paul is a productive vote, but is is a way to signal the establishment parties of your discontent.

Libertarian Alternatives

This morning, Mitt Romney announced his selection of Paul Ryan to be his running mate for the Republican Party's presidential run in 2012. It was one of the final moves left to Romney in his presentation of his campaign to the American public. Following that decision, now it is left to the American people to examine and ponder their coming decision vote in less than 90 days. The choice is now laid out before them: Barack Obama and Joe Biden, or Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, each set of candidates coming with their own party baggage and history, each coming with their own political histories and policies.

Which ever of the two political parties you closer adhere to, although I don't think its wrong to assume most of you reading this are probably not Democrats, people always seem to want a third option. Maybe it's because they're tired of the establishment (who isn't?) or maybe they don't feel represented well by polarized partisan debates, people yearn for an alternative, something to latch onto. Perhaps the establishment seems controlled or influenced by the same sources, so people want something fresh and unspoiled.

bs-logo.jpg?width=164One of the more widely known third parties is the Libertarian Party, which calls for small government. If you remember, Ron Paul was their candidate in 1988. This year, their candidate is former Republican Gov. Gary Johnson of New Mexico.

I don't know that any of the things people look for in third parties are really true about the Libertarian Party, but certainly they would like to be that alternative for people. The main line of their political philosophy is anti-big government. They do not want the government prying into or disturbing their lives in any way. While this is certainly a view many can grab onto, their ideals are not entirely attractive to everyone.

Their policies are well outlined in this video:

You-Are-Libertarian-Video.png?width=497

Whatever you think of Gov. Johnson and the Libertarian Party, but it is an alternative to the main political parties. If you views toward the establishment GOP have soured as of late, or over the past 20 years, then maybe Gary is your man.

Maybe not, but there you go. I don't necessarily agree with a lot of what he says, but then again I disagree with Romney too. At least I've still got 87 days to decide. Maybe Ron Paul will stick around until then.

gary-johnson-live-free.jpg?width=339

I should say that I do not think Libertarians are very Tea Party-esque, but I wanted to share the option that will be on the ballot.

David Christian
4063479328?profile=originalPennsylvania is the Keystone State, symbolic of the center stone that supports an arch. However it is also a “key” in that no candidate has won the presidency in the last 50 years without capturing Pennsylvania.

Because Pennsylvania plays such a critical role in the election of the President, the recent actions of Governor Tom Corbett and State Chairman Tom Gleason must be severely questioned. The Corrupt Corbett Coalition was conspiring to keep David Christian, a true Reagan Republican and war hero off the ballot. Instead of supporting the best candidate, they are backing a former Democrat and Obama supporter for the US Senate, by the name of Steve Welch, who is less likely to stand up to the Obama agenda.

Pennsylvania already has one Democrat and Obama supporter in the US Senate, why would they want another?

Once you read this strange and puzzling story, you will have to question the motives of the Corrupt Corbett Coalition and wonder what kind of deal they struck.

At the State Committee meeting in January, Governor Corbett, through local organizations, forced an endorsement for his candidate; former Democrat and Obama supporter Steve Welch.1 Delegates were threatened with losing their jobs and were told that if any committee person stood, nominated, or seconded anyone other than Steve Welch, they would no longer be considered committee people. It seems that the First Amendment does not exist in the Pennsylvania GOP!

Welch has put over a million dollars of his own money in the campaign2 and is the last person a Republican should support, let alone a Republican Governor. Welch changed his party affiliation to Democrat as far back as 2006 and then admitted to voting for Obama in 2008. After that, he changed his party affiliation back to Republican but continued to contribute to Democrat candidates, such as Joe Sestak.1 Welch even held an event for Sestak at his home.

In politics, you are known by the company you keep. Steve Welch’s support for the very liberal Joe Sestak, a Democratic Pennsylvania Congressman is quite odd. Sestak has a reputation of being “temperamental and demanding,” and “Sestak was fired on the first day on his job as deputy chief of naval operations for warfare requirements and programs.” After that, Sestak only held lower profile desk jobs until he retired. The fact that Welch would support someone like that over a Republican is very disturbing and definitely calls his judgment into question.

Now we learn that Sestak is attempting to run an occupy candidate for the US Senate4 Yes, you read that correctly. Steve Welch, who is backed by Governor Corbett, has held fundraisers for liberal Democrat Congressman Joe Sestak, who is now attempting to put up an occupy” candidate. 4.

Welch’s vote for Obama should have been enough to have kept him from being endorsed by any Republican. However, Governor Corbett defended him by saying, “My understanding is that he did this as part of ‘Operation Chaos… referring to Rush Limbaugh’s encouragement of Republican voters to cross over into Democratic primaries in ’08.”1

Unfortunately, for Corbett, that’s a lie.

Operation Chaos was not about voting for Obama.5  As one reader commented,

“Anyone that is familiar with Limbaugh's 'Operation Chaos' knows that he was encouraging people to vote for Hillary Clinton in that Primary! Welch's vote for Obama means he is either not very smart or lying.”1

So, first the Corrupt Corbett Coalition backs an Obama Democrat, and then they lie about why they did it!6 These actions definitely call into question Corbett’s integrity, party loyalty, and motives.

The PA GOP are now using all resources in an attempt to force Republicans to vote for Welch in the US Senate Primary. In a further example of Corbett’s Corrupt Coalition, only Welch was allowed to be invited to, or speak at any Pa. GOP sponsored events throughout the entire state.7

Already there are signs that Corbett overplayed his hand. The final results of an online poll show Welch only moving up from fourth place to the third place position. David Christian, Corbett’s latest victim, is second.8Public Policy Polling conducted a survey from March 8 to 119 Welch, the endorsed one, has been interviewed and has been attending events, yet his results show that since the poll in November, he has only increased from 1% to 5%. The survey was conducted during the time that David Christian was still settling the legal challenges and had not been on the campaign trail in over twenty days. Taking that into consideration, his stats are amazing. If, up against Casey, it shows him only 2 points under Sam Rohrer, the leader in this poll, then think what David Christian will be able to accomplish now that he is back on the campaign trail! As an advocate for Veterans, he could be picking up votes from the military and he just might be the only one who can beat Casey in November.

There were many people who came out of the state meeting reporting that Governor Corbett was pressuring everyone, and many of them said they had to vote the way he wanted out of fear or obligation and many were threatened with their jobs. However, when there are reports of threats against people, 1 the Governor has crossed the line over to that point of “no return”…which also might now be the chant of the people when he com es up for re-election.

However, the intimidation of the Corrupt Corbett Coalition did not stop after winning the rigged convention.

Governor Corbett and other leaders contacted David Christian shortly thereafter, just before the deadline for the nomination papers to be filed, on Tuesday, January 21, and told Christian to drop from the race or face unprecedented challenges of his petition papers.10 Can you say “ The People’s Republic of Pennsylvania?

And, that is exactly what they did. David Christian’s petitions were challenged by three people who were clearly put up to it by the PA GOP. One of the more outrageous reasons for challenging Christian’s petitions is the claim that people signed with their nickname, not their given name. The names that were challenged were names like Richard, Michael, Craig, Janet, Linda, Rose, Mary etc., etc.

Please read David Christian’s statement on the petition challenge http://www.scribd.com/doc/82441133/PAGOP-Attacks-American-War-Hero-.... Hear more details about the calls from the Governor, David Christian’s military career, and his life in this short video of Christian speaking at a group meeting. http://youtu.be/BoZP3xY8Kg4

A Senate candidate only needs 2,000 petition signatures and David Christian got over 3,100. The Corrupt Corbett Coalition knew they could not knock off enough signatures on David’s petitions to keep him from being on the ballot. This was a blatant attempt to tie David Christian up in court thus precluding his ability to attend important campaign events. In addition, it was aimed at draining his campaign’s account to pay for legal fees in order to keep him from being successful in the April 24th primary.

After re-presenting his petitions and having them reviewed by an impartial judge, the state GOP was forced to back off. David Christian has won the petition challenge and will be on the April primary ballot; however, the Corrupt Corbett Coalition has cost him twenty-one days of legal fees and lost time on the campaign trail.  Read David’s Victory statement  http://bit.ly/w02Sjb

Now, more than ever, David Christian needs support not only from the citizens of Pennsylvania but from across the country. A message needs to be sent to Pennsylvania’s GOP establishment that the people have a right to choose their candidate. The harassment of David Christian, his friends and family by the Corrupt Corbett Coalition and his minions will only be stopped when David Christian wins the Republican US Senate primary. Only that victory will send the loud and clear message to the political establishment that we abhor this behavior and that we are not going to tolerate it.

David Christian is a military hero, an advocate for Veterans, and a true Reagan Conservative.  He is someone who has stood up for what he believes no matter what it has cost him. David Christian bled for his country. (7 purple hearts, 2 Silver Stars, Bronze Star, Distinguished Service Medal and 2 Medal of Honor recommendations.)

That is the kind of person we all need to endorse, support and get behind.  He is the type of person the country needs to turn things around.  You can read more about him on his amazing website. http://davechristian.com

If you have a radio program or blog or if you know someone who does, then please help spread the word about this injustice. Share with any military groups so they will know what is happening to one of their own, a person who stands up for their rights.

Everyone, please support David Christian any way you can. Share information and follow him on Facebook and Twitter. Volunteer to help get the word out about David Christian in order to make up for the lost time caused by the Corrupt Corbett Coalition. If you can, donate $20.12 and if not, even a $1, will demonstrate the support that will strike fear into the political establishment in Pennsylvania. You can donate now at: https://secure.donationreport.com/donate.html?key=WDXYRCTBXFSM.

Even though we didn’t know it, David Christian has fought for us many times.

Now, it is time for us to fight for him.

We cannot allow a critical state like Pennsylvania to go Democrat just because the Governor has his own agenda. You can get a better idea of the fight David Christian has ahead of him by reading the following:

PAGOP to County Chairs: Non-Endorsed Candidates Need Not Apply and the letter the PAGOP sent out to each county.7 PoliticsPA has both posted at http://www.politicspa.com/pagop-to-county-chairs-non-endorsed-candi...

Here is the list of senate candidates with information about each of them.

  • Bob Casey, Jr., is the Democratic incumbent. “His support for the stimulus and the president's signature health care law”11 and his overall voting record shows he is an Obama yes man, even if he is trying now to avoid Obama.11 Casey claims to be pro-life but his actions say otherwise.12  You can review his voting record and other information at VoteSmart13 and other sites. He has voted with Obama 97% of the time.

Republican Candidates

  • David Christian owns a consulting company that helps American companies sell their services and products to emerging nations around the world.
  • He is one of the most highly decorated US Army Veterans to come out of the Vietnam War: 7 Purple Hearts, the Distinguished Service Cross,14 two Silver Stars, a Bronze Star, nominated for the Medal of Honor twice and was the youngest commissioned officer since the Civil War.15 He is listed as one of the past national commanders holding a lifetime position on the Board of Directors for The Legion of Valor.16
  • He was instrumental in creating job training programs for returning Vietnam veterans and helped make Pennsylvania the only state compliant with federal employment law for returning veterans. As a result, tens of thousands of our veterans have found meaningful jobs.
  • He has advised U.S. Senators and 6 different Presidential Administrations, with his closest relationship being with Ronald Reagan. He was called to Washington to solve problems in an insecure world. Relying on his international contacts, the government sent him to Cambodia, Bosnia, Russia, Lithuania, Chechnya and other dangerous places that were critical to the security of the United States. David was tasked to gather information and debrief U.S. officials.15 He is also a former Fox News Military Analyst.17
  • Sam Rohrer was elected to the State House in 1992. Rohrer voted in favor of the 2005 legislative pay raise, as well as voting in 2001 in favor of a plan to increase lawmaker pensions by upwards of 50 percent.18 He also ran for Governor in 2010, and lost 69% to 31%.19  His voting record and stances on issues can be found at VoteSmart.20     He spend 18 years in the Pennsylvania legislature and did not get a single bill passed and signed into law. He did nothing as a state senator. Do we really need someone who did nothing as a state legislature become a do nothing U.S. Senator?
  • Marc Scaringi, an attorney who has never held public office and has been running for a year and a half. He announced his run Nov 2010.21 He, however, has not picked up the support he expected, and is placing in the bottom two in various polls.[8][9]
  • Tom Smith was a 2010 Armstrong County Democrat committeeman22…yes, Democrat. He changed to Republican so he could run for U.S. Senate 6 weeks before declaring his candidacy. He has put over $4 million into his own campaign23 and says he will put more if needed. Do we really want someone who just thinks he can buy the vote, let alone a candidate who has spent a lifetime as a democrat?
  • Steve Welch, “The Establishment Choice,” who “switched his party registration to Democrat in 2005, donated money to former Democratic Rep. Joe Sestak in 2006 and voted for President Obama in the 2008 Democratic primary.”24 He has run twice before yet says he is new to the process. See the article written about how new he really is.25

THINK ABOUT THIS??? What event is going to happen in the next 8 months that is so important the MAJORITY REPUBLICAN GOP HOUSE AND SENATE LET THIS HAPPEN WITHOUT A WORD? Something is big, they released this on Friday, our Congress and Senate are silent, this has never happened in American's history!!!! EVER!!! This means the HOUSE AND SENATE ARE IN ON IT? Is there a world wide Earth Quake or Flood coming? Is Earth going to be hit by an Astorid? Why would you need this law? The person who put the law into effect is an illegal alien and not our real President??? Will someone please tell me what the hell is going on??????
