Every year 50,000 plus people are killed and a great number of those are teenagers. Some people claim they are drinking when it happens, sometimes it is just an accident, suicide or sadly some are premeditated murder. Of course, they are used in crimes and are very dangerous in the wrong hands, especially young people. Regardless, people die and this must stop, RIGHT? If only the trained police or certain professionals were able to use them the streets would be safer, thousands of citizens would not be killed and we could set an example for the world. There is no doubt that they are very dangerous and with daily deaths mounting we should do something!

I am talking about vehicles, cars and trucks! Yes, the same argument holds for vehicles as does for guns. The primary difference is that many more people are killed with or in vehicles. They do save lives and prevent crimes, as do guns in the hands of citizens, but no one ever wants to talk about those details.

The environmental people should support this ban, but I do NOT! It makes no more sense than banning guns. It s the person, not the instrument that kills people. Knifes, hammers, screw drivers, ice picks, box cutters, etc. are all dangerous in the wrong and evil hands.

I regret any loss of life, but I value my freedom and will not give it up for alleged increased security. Our Founding Fathers warned us to never give up freedom for promised security.

When I went to public school every boy had a  pocket knife and there were no gun free zones and in fact some kids had them in the cars. We have a people and a morals problem today and need to address it. Israel schools have armed teachers, surrounded by terrorists and people who would attack their children if they were in a gun free zone. The incident yesterday might have been stopped, if Bill Clinton had not banned guns from military bases in 1993. Ever on duty soldier should wear a side arm, as they did in past wars and that evil sick man would have been stopped VS. a shooting gallery. Just as my example of banning vehicles does not make sense, neither does gun free military bases or schools.

The Navy shooter was using a shotgun and even crazy uncle Joe said he has one of them. Obama and others will use this crisis to push gun bans and they are chasing the wrong issue. We have a people problem.

As my title states we MUST stop this nonsense. Piers nationality has nothing to do with his thinking and deporting him will solve nothing, besides since when has the Tea party been against FREE SPEECH? What are we going to do next? Demand we deport fools like AL Gore and Michael Moore? Just because they have a different ideology doesn't mean we try and control speech. We are better than that. WE MUST WIN ON OUR IDEAS & IDEALS

We are already regarded negatively by the Press and this kind of statement does nothing to further our credibility. We must be seen as the party of sanity, demanding fiscal restraint and fiscal responsibility. Our total focus should be on demanding the Republican Party nominate ELECTABLE Fiscally conservative candidates who will DEFEND the Constitution and we need to do everything in our power to make this happen. Once we have our fiscal house in order we can tackle other issues. We must educate the ill informed about why this is necessary. Bankrupt nations have no voice in the world but today the vast majority of the population thinks government is the solution and we have unlimited resources. They have no concept of what a balanced budget means and no concept of the fact that we cannot borrow our way out of bankruptcy, or the fact that we BORROW over 40 cents on EVERY dollar WE SPEND.

After April 15th, I will be more involved in making the party a success if I can figure out what or how I can contribute; this blog is just a response to our acting as stupidly as the people we criticize. I have even written a book about the changes we as a country need but I am not here to promote my book, so I won't even mention the title or how you can get it.
The leadership of the tea Party should not be promoting insanity and I for one think the forum for that kind of discussion is on the blogs and not a basis for raising funds because we don't like somebody else's free speech and thoughts. At the leadership level we need an easily understandable coherent goals and objectives statement. I challenge you to tell me what the Tea party stands for. Free Lunch May Cost You More Than You Think

"As you listen to the news about the student protests over illegal immigration, there are some things that you should be aware of:
I am in charge of the English-as-a-second-language department at a large southern California high school which is designated a Title 1 school, meaning that its students average lower socioeconomic and income levels.
 
Most of the schools you are hearing about, South Gate High, Bell Gardens , Huntington Park , etc.. where these students are protesting, are also Title 1 schools.
 
Title 1 schools are on the free breakfast and free lunch program. When I say free breakfast, I'm not talking a glass of milk and roll -- but a full breakfast and cereal bar with fruits and juices that would make a Marriott proud. The waste of this food is monumental, with trays and trays of it being dumped in the trash uneaten. (Tax dollars at work)
 
I estimate that well over 50% of these students are obese or at least moderately overweight. About 75% or more DO have cell phones . The school also provides day care centers for the unwed teenage pregnant girls (some as young as 13) so they can attend class without the inconvenience of having to arrange for babysitters or having family watch their kids. I was ordered to spend $700,000 on my department or risk losing funding for the upcoming year even though there was little need for anything; my budget was already substantial. I ended up buying new computers for the computer learning center, half of which, one month later, have been carved with graffiti by the appreciative students who obviously feel humbled and grateful to have a free education in America. I have had to intervene several times for young and substitute teachers whose classes consist of many illegal immigrant students here in the country less than 3 months who raised so much hell with the female teachers, calling them "Putas" ( whores ) and throwing things , that the teachers were in tears.
 
Free medical, free education, free food, day care, etc, etc, etc. Is it any wonder they feel entitled not only to be in this country but to demand rights, privileges and entitlements?
 
To those who want to point out how much these illegal immigrants contribute to our society because they LIKE their gardener and housekeeper and they like to pay less for tomatoes: spend some time in the real world of illegal immigration and see the TRUE costs.
 
Higher insurance, medical facilities closing, higher medical costs, more crime, lower standards of education in our schools, overcrowding, new diseases etc., etc, etc. For me, I'll pay more for tomatoes.
 
Americans, We need to wake up. The guest worker program will be a disaster because we won't have the guts to enforce it . Does anyone in their right mind really think they will voluntarily leave and return?
 
It does, however, have everything to do with culture: A third-world culture that does not value education, that accepts children getting pregnant and dropping out of school by 15 and that refuses to assimilate, and an American culture that has become so weak and worried about “political correctness ” that we don't have the will to do anything about it.

CHEAP LABOR? Isn't that what the whole immigration issue is about?

But the bottom line is cheap labor. The phrase "cheap labor" is a myth , a farce, and a lie. There is no such thing as "cheap labor."
 
Take, for example, an illegal alien with a wife and five children. He takes a job for $5.00 or 6.00/hour. At that wage, with six dependents, he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year, if he files an Income Tax Return, he gets an " earned income credit" of up to $3,200 free.
 
He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent .
 
He qualifies for food stamps..
 
He qualifies for free (no deductible), no co-pay) health care.
 
His children get free breakfasts and lunches at school.
 
He requires bilingual teachers and books.
 
He qualifies for relief from high energy bills.
 
If they are or become, aged, blind or disabled , they qualify for SSI.
Once qualified for SSI they can qualify for Medicare . All of this is at (our) taxpayer's expense .
 
He doesn't worry about car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance.
 
Taxpayers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins and printed material.
 
He and his family receive the equivalent of $20.00 to $30.00/hour in benefits.
 
Working Americans are lucky to have $5.00 or $6.00/hour left after paying their bills AND his.
 
The American taxpayers also pay for increased crime, graffiti and trash clean-up.
 
Cheap labor? YEAH RIGHT! Wake up people!

Hobby shop chain faces backlash for stance against ObamaCare

National arts and crafts retail chain Hobby Lobby is facing backlash after filing a lawsuit opposing the HeathCare Mandate, with the owners claiming that it goes against their Christian Values. (AP)

A Christian-owned chain of hobby shops is facing a bitter backlash after suing the Obama administration over new requirements to provide insured employees with contraceptive and abortion coverage.

Oklahoma-based Hobby Lobby filed the suit Sept. 12 in U.S. District Court in Oklahoma City, alleging that the ObamaCare mandate violates the religious beliefs of the company's owners. The suit followed similar suits by Catholic colleges and a Denver-based company whose owners also objected to the mandate on religious grounds. While a judge has not yet ruled on Hobby Lobby's suit, a Facebook page calling for a boycott of the company, which operates 500 stores in 41 states, has appeared online, and several other forums have featured posts urging customers to steer clear of Hobby Lobby.

“I’m boycotting Hobby Lobby!” reads the heading of one posting on image posting site Flickr. “Even if you're pro-life this kind of action stinks to high heaven! If things like this can be allowed then what's next?!,” the user added.

“They’re being told they have two choices. Either follow their faith and pay the government half-a-billion dollars or give up their beliefs."

Others have taken to social media to protest against Hobby Lobby, with a “Boycott Hobby Lobby” page on Facebook.

“I've been to two Hobby Lobby parking lots today and they were fairly empty. I used to have trouble finding a parking spot!” read one posting from the administrator of the Boycott page. “I think the boycott is catching on! I do not think they are getting the reaction they hoped for.”

Hobby Lobby owner David Green is a devout Baptist who owns one of the world's largest collections of Biblical artifacts. The Barret Fund for Religious Liberty, which represents Green in his suit, argued that compliance with the offending portion of the health care law that the nature of their suit is “would force religiously-motivated business owners like plaintiffs to violate their faith under the threats of millions of dollars in fines.”

Lawyers argued that company employees are well aware of Green's views and their bearing on the company.

“The Green family’s business practices ... reflect their Christian faith in unmistakable and concrete ways,” the complaint states. The company employs full-time chaplains; close all store locations on Sundays and monitors all marketing and operations to make sure that it is consistent with their beliefs.

Failure to comply with the mandate could subject the company to as much as $1.3 million in daily fines, according to Barret Fund attorneys.

"They’re being told they have two choices: Either follow their faith and pay the government half a billion dollars or give up their beliefs," Lori Windham, an attorney from theBarret Fund, told Foxnews.com. "We believe that’s a choice no one should have to make.”

David Green could not be reached for comment, but in a recent USA Today Op-Ed, he blasted the Obama administration for imposing mandates he believes he cannot comply with.

“Our government threatens to fine job creators in a bad economy," Green wrote. "Our government threatens to fine a company that’s raised wages four years running. Our government threatens to fine a family for running its business according to its beliefs. It’s not right.”

The company does not object to providing coverage that includes birth control pills, but refuses to provide or pay for two specific abortion-inducing drugs such as the so-called "morning after" pill, because Green's "most deeply held religious belief" is that life beginning at conception, the family said in a statement released through its attorneys.

As for the boycott, the company's founders believe customers have the right to vote with their feet.

"The Green family respects every individual's right to free speech and hopes that others will respect their rights also, including the right to live and do business according to their religious beliefs.," the statement said.

Hobby Lobby is believed to be the first non-Catholic company to file an objection to the healthcare mandate. The Newland family, the devoutly Catholic owners of Denver-based Hercules Industries filed a similar suit this past summer and won a court injunction that ruled that they are not obligated to follow the mandate.

“I think the law and precedent set by this case is very strong for Hobby Lobby and the Green Family,” Windham said.

Because of my conservative views, some liberal must have complained, and for several months I have tried to sign in to my  Facebook account and this is the message I get. “Suspicious activity has been detected on your Facebook account and it has been temporarily suspended as a security precaution. It is likely that your account was compromised as a result of entering your password on a website designed to look like Facebook. This type of attack is known as phishing” I have changed my password several times, contacted Facebook, but they still don’t allow me to sign in. The Freedom of speech that we are entitled to in the First Amendment has been DELETED by this president in secret and signed into LAW.  HR347 gives secret service agents (hand picked by the president) sweeping powers to decide where we can and can't protest his policies.  They are able to determine NO FREE SPEECH ZONES!!  

For 230 years we have had the right to debate policies by any political figure.  This freedom of speech has been abridged.  Very little public debate in Congress.   Speech violations, the right to petition the government for a redress of your grievances, association violations will all fall into this category.  It gives unbridled power to the Secret Service members hired by Obama to decide where we can speak up against him - and since Obama is able to assign Secret Service protection to whomever he chooses - then they can decide that we are not entitled to protest those designated by the president as part of his team (David Axelrod, for example).  We need to be outraged and protest Congress on this one!  Destruction of our basic liberties happening live!

“If you followed the mainstream media’s coverage of the Occupy Wall Street protests earlier this fall, you might have a number of concerns about the state of the American press. For instance, you might be concerned about what the media’s fawning coverage of OWS, which included whitewashing racism and anti-Semitism on the part of OWS participants, says about the press corps’ ability to provide fair and politically dispassionate coverage. Similarly, you might wonder if the volumes of newsprint devoted to an anarchic and often-violent campaign that had no coherent or cohesive agenda might indicate badly confused priorities on the part of media gatekeepers.

One thing you likely would not think is that the extensive coverage of OWS indicated a dramatic decline in American press freedom. That is, unless you were the France-based journalism watchdog group Reporters Without Borders (RWB). In the latest version of its annual report on global press freedom, RBW downgraded the U.S. 27 spots, to number 47 in the world. To put this in perspective: By RWB’s measure, the United States, home of the First Amendment, sits just a few notches above Haiti.

RWB’s justification for the dramatic markdown is an alleged “crackdown” on reporters covering OWS. As RWB’s report puts it, the U.S.’s precipitous fall in the rankings reflects “the crackdown on protest movements and the accompanying excesses” that “took their toll on journalists.” In two months, RWB’s report says, “more than 25 [journalists] were subjected to arrests and beatings at the hands of police who were quick to issue indictments for inappropriate behavior, public nuisance or even lack of accreditation.”

As others have noted, this justification is patently ridiculous. In any meaningful comparison, the United States is unrivaled in the freedom it affords its press. But you would hardly know it from the RWB report, which holds the U.S. to a standard imposed on no other nation. Thus, Hungary’s ruling party passed a law granting the government direct control over the media, in effect killing the country’s independent press, yet Hungary fell fewer spots in RWB’s rankings than did the United States. Meanwhile RWB singled out for praise a country like Niger, which came in at 29^th in the world in press freedom – this despite the fact that journalists in the country are routinely harassed by state security agencies, the government has a commanding control of broadcasting services, and a corrupt judiciary ensures widespread self-censorship by the press. Despite that, the U.S. still fares worse in RWB’s rankings.

These comparisons are bad enough. Even evaluated on its own terms, though, RWB’s claim that journalists covering OWS were the victims of a “crackdown” fails to withstand serious scrutiny. While it’s true and regrettable that some professional journalists were arrested amidst police crackdowns on OWS protests, those arrests were inadvertent. In making these arrests, police frequently were unable to distinguish between professional journalists and so-called “citizen journalists,” who were, in effect, OWS activists.

At New York’s Zuccotti Park, ground zero of the OWS protests, one of the first journalists to be arrested by police was John Farley, a reporter for local online magazine MetroFocus, who was swept up by police with other protestors. Although justifiably unhappy to be arrested, Farley wondered how “in a sudden burst of urban chaos” can “the police distinguish between passersby and protesters who may be committing civil disobedience or any other type of punishable offense? Or between citizen journalists and professional journalists?”

Unfortunately for some reporters, police couldn’t always make that distinction. The police’s ability to discern between journalists and activists was further complicated by the fact that even many professional journalists, including Farley, were not carrying NYPD-issued accreditation. One can sympathize with the plight of these arrested reporters while recognizing that neither they nor the press generally were the police’s intended targets.

If blame is to be assigned for journalists’ arrests, a large share of it should go to the OWS protesters themselves. Whether through acts of outright violence, such as throwing glass bottles and bags of garbage and other projectiles at police, or by refusing to vacate a privately owned public park despite repeated orders to do so, the OWS protestors provoked a police response. It is not to excuse the more heavy-handed tactics to which police resorted to point out that they were forced to act by the violent and criminal conduct of OWS protestors.

Just as evicting the protestors from a privately owned park did not constitute suppression of free speech, neither do the collateral arrests of journalists covering the OWS protests signal growing curtailment of press freedom in the U.S. Considering that journalists are purposely and aggressively targeted by governments across the world, it is particularly outrageous for RWB to equate the OWS arrests with persecution of the press. To suggest that the active targeting and murder of journalists in Russia (to take one example of many) and the incidental arrests of journalists in a police roundup of violent rioters in the U.S. are somehow commensurate in their impact on press freedom is moral equivalence on a gross and indefensible scale.

With press freedom genuinely imperiled across the world, RWB’s downgrade of the U.S. seems to be little more than an attention-grabbing stunt. In the final analysis, RWB’s report highlights a decline not of the freedom of the press but of its seriousness. Those who kept up with the media’s cheerleading coverage of OWS would not have failed to notice the trend.”

“(CBS/AP)  PARIS - Reporters Without Borders has named “crackdown” the word of 2011 in an assessment of global media freedom during a year in which journalists covering sweeping protests were tested as never before.

The Paris-based press freedom watchdog said Wednesday that the wave of uprisings in the Middle East, the Occupy movement in the West and continued protests in China gave journalists an unprecedented role in advancing democracy. But they also were often targeted by governments trying to quash dissent.

“Never has freedom of information been so closely associated with democracy. Never have journalists, through their reporting, vexed the enemies of freedom so much,” the group said in a statement accompanying its report.

But the important role journalists played put them in the cross hairs of repressive regimes, the report said, adding: “Never have acts of censorship and physical attacks on journalists seemed so numerous.”

The heightened unrest resulted in a significant shake-up of the group’s annual Press Freedom Index, which assesses governments’ commitment to protecting media freedoms. The United States, for instance, fell 27 places to 47 because of arrests of journalists during Occupy Wall Street protests. The slide places it just behind Comoros and Taiwan in a group with Argentina and Romania.

Tunisia, which threw off decades of authoritarian rule in a revolt last year that sparked the Arab Spring uprisings, rose 30 places. But the group said its rank remains low — at 134 out of 179 — because although it “gave birth to a democratic regime,” it “has not yet fully accepted a free and independent press.”

Despite the big changes, some constants remained. Finland and Norway topped the list, as they did for 2010. Eritrea was last, with North Korea just above.

Syria, where an uprising against the government has been met with a brutal crackdown that has left more than 5,000 people dead, received its worst rating ever at 176.

The group judged that Syria, along with Iran and China, “seem to have lost contact with reality as they have been sucked into an insane spiral of terror.”

I remember that Soros was declared a criminal in France and in one SE Asian country, can't remember if it was Cambodia or Laos. He is prohibited entry in these countries because of his destructive efforts to devestate those countries both financially, civilly and politically. Is nonconformity and freethinking a mental illness? According to the newest addition of the DSM-IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual ofMental Disorders), it certainly is. The manual identifies a new mentalillness called “oppositional defiant disorder” or ODD. Defined as an“ongoing pattern of disobedient, hostile and defiant behavior,” symptomsinclude questioning authority, negativity, defiance,argumentativeness, and being easily annoyed.

The DSM-IV is the manual used by psychiatrists to diagnose mental illnesses and, with each new edition, there are scores of new mentalillnesses. Are we becoming sicker? Is it getting harder to be mentallyhealthy? Authors of the DSM-IV say that it’s because they’re betterable to identify these illnesses today. Critics charge that it’sbecause they have too much time on their hands.

New mental illnesses identified by the DSM-IV include arrogance, narcissism, above-average creativity, cynicism, and antisocialbehavior. In the past, these were called “personality traits,” but nowthey’re diseases.

And there are treatments available.

All of this is a symptom of our over-diagnosing and overmedicating culture. In the last 50 years, the DSM-IV has gone from 130 to 357mental illnesses. A majority of these illnesses afflict children.Although the manual is an important diagnostic tool for the psychiatricindustry, it has also been responsible for social changes. The rise inADD, bipolar disorder, and depression in children has been largelybecause of the manual’s identifying certain behaviors as symptoms. AWashington Post article observed that, if Mozart were born today, hewould be diagnosed with ADD and “medicated into barren normality.”

According to the DSM-IV, the diagnosis guidelines for identifying oppositional defiant disorder are for children, but adults can just aseasily suffer from the disease. This should give any freethinkingAmerican reason for worry.

The Soviet Union used new “mental illnesses” for political repression. People who didn’t accept the beliefs of the Communist Partydeveloped a new type of schizophrenia. They suffered from thedelusion of believing communism was wrong. They were isolated,forcefully medicated, and put through repressive “therapy” to bringthem back to sanity.

When the last edition of the DSM-IV was published, identifying the symptoms of various mental illnesses in children, there was a jump inthe diagnosis and medication of children. Some states have laws thatallow protective agencies to forcibly medicate, and even make it apunishable crime to withhold medication. This paints a chilling picturefor those of us who are nonconformists.

Although the authors of the manual claim no ulterior motives but simply better diagnostic practices, the labeling of freethinking andnonconformity as mental illnesses has a lot of potential for abuse. Itcan easily become a weapon in the arsenal of a repressive state.

It is now confirmed by USWGO News that the DSM-IV-TR Manual labels free thinkers, non conformers, civil disobedient advocates, those thatquestion authority, and people considered hostile toward the government(aka Oath keepers and local militias) as mentally ill with the illnesstitled “oppositional defiant disorder” or ODD.

Now I have got my hands on a ebook version of the year 2000 version of the 'Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders DSM-IV-TRFourth Edition (Text Revision) By the American Psychiatric Associationversion DSM-TV-TR (The non TR Version was said to be older and so I gotthe newer one which had the information that Off The Grid News warnedabout).

Now as I search up the keywords “oppositional defiant disorder” on adobe reader I found exactly what Off The Grid News was talking about.So it is now Confirmed basically that anyone who disobeys authority oreven questions authority is now considered mentally ill and can bethrown in a prison-like mental institution under tax payers dollars.

So lets just get to the basics of what this is talking about for those that don't exactly understand what this is saying:

So in other words if a student gives out 9/11 truth fliers and a teacher says "You don't have a Constitutional right to give out fliersgood buddy" then non compliance is considered hostile or disobedient.Also if I am with the Oath Keepers that refuse to obey unlawful ordersfrom authorities then that also fits them and me as disruptive andhostile towards authority. If the psychiatrists use the ODD illness onregular adults then I am sure many disgruntled tax paying Americans andthose that no longer consent to be governed would be forcefullymedicated, forced to accept being a slave to society, or stay in amental prison institution complex for the rest of their days. That seemsto be where this manual is getting at according to the fact I was ableto obtain the full copy of the psychiatric manual.

Negativistic and defiant behaviors are expressed by persistent Stubbornness, resis·
tance to directions, and unwillingness to compromise, give in, ornegotiate with
adults or peers. Defiance may also include deliberate or persistenttesting of limits,
usually by ignoring orders, arguing, and failing to accept blame formisdeeds. Hostility
can be directed at adults or peers and is shown by deliberately annoyingothers
or by verbal aggression (usually without the more serious physicalaggression seen
in Conduct Disorder).

So in other words it is okay to compromise with those that commit treason to this country and those that disobey their Oath to theConstitution. The day we start accepting and compromising with thosethat wish to take away our freedoms then that is the path to startlosing all of our freedoms and rights for good. Also this manual speaksagainst any anti-social behavior so that means that if your not in aorganized religion, not being social enough in society, and may haveviewpoints that are unpopular then you will also be labeled as havingODD.

So if I was a active duty soldier and was told to confiscate peoples guns, assassinate American citizens, and start silencing dissent and Irefuse those orders plus argue with the commander in chief regarding theillegal orders then that makes me mentally ill and the Unconstitutionaltreasonous monsters the hero.

So it is now confirmed that psychiatrists will start targeting brave people like George Washington, anti Federal Reserve activists,activists, and even those against tyranny with mental illnesses such as“oppositional defiant disorder” as we head into more of a MilitaryDictatorship where freedom does not exist and all functions of societymust function like a cold hard machine and any who feel the need to beaway from this machine society will not be tolerated by the Police Stateminions and will either be killed or pumped up with so much drugs thatthe person will feel like a zombie.

Also what are free thinkers anyways, Free thinkers are those that feel they should have the right to live the way they choose freely aslong as they don't harm anybody, don't harm the persons property, anddon't harm other peoples rights. A free thinker is a person thatbelieves they should have the rights to think freely without any risk ofpersecution.

These are the full list of who all will be targeted by this new disorder created by the American Psychiatric Association:

1. Free Thinkers - Because they get in the way of the police state and become a obstacle to authority
2. Non conformers - Because they will cause civil disobedience which will make things harder on authorities
3. Oath Keepers - Because they will actively refuse any orders from higher ups to shoot American citizens, confiscate Americans guns whenthis action conflicts with the 2nd amendment, follow illegal orders akaorders that conflict with the Constitution and the laws legally passed.Oath keepers teach people to be disobedient to any authority that breaksthe Constitution.
4. Highly creative artists - Because they are wasting time in the police state society and so they must also work like clockwork to be agood slave in society or risk being thrown in a mental institution.
5. Anyone that questions authority - Because the authority is god and anybody that questions authority must be a troublemaker that wishes todestabilize a society and commit acts of terrorism.

So there we have it the American Psychiatric Association is putting in their Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders DSM-IVseries that free thinkers, civil disobedient advocates, and Oath keepersare all mentally ill that are anti-social and may cause behaviorproblems in our modern society.

Why Didn’t the “Stimulus and Recovery Act Work?”


A lot of Libertarians and other Conservatives are not at all surprised that the Obama Stimulus and Recovery Act not only didn’t work but that it actually cost 2.4 million jobs. The question is why did it fail? Why can’t the government, in its vast wisdom, hee hee, create jobs? And why specifically did our communist (55% of folks out there call Obama a “socialist,” but he is and from birth has always been a communist**) president fail with this specific bill? And let’s ask a corollary question, is “jobs created or saved” a meaningful statistic?

Why didn't it work? It’s our old friend from “Economics in One Lesson” by Henry Hazlitt, “the Broken Window Parable” (linked below a.k.a. the Broken Window Fallacy or Broken Window Fable) and it denies the most fundamental precepts of humankind living in society. While economics is actually the simplest of “social sciences,” the fact that human self-interest (and not only rational Ayn Rand type self-interest, but also greedy deluded conquer-the-world-and-make-everybody-do-my-bidding type self-interest as well) repeatedly involves itself in so-called “economic projections” makes the Broken Window Parable the most fundamental error made by the statists, totalitarians, liberals, progressives, and Obamalike Marxists. Unfortunately, most ordinary citizens don't know and/or don't understand the Broken Window Parable and can easily get caught up with the progressive's $$ Utopian dreams.
While Hazlitt’s book (online free http://jim.com/econ/contents.html) is the most helpful aid to understanding human economic fallacy . . . the “one lesson” smacks of the teachings of Gandhi . . . it’s so damn simple, it’s too easy to ignore (http://jim.com/econ/chap01p1.html) but, of course, add in the technique of putting lessons into little and powerful and memorable stories found in both the simple teachings of Jesus Christ in his parables or of Aesop in his fables and the whole thing becomes instantaneously memorable forever: (http://jim.com/econ/chap02p1.html).

And what is the fundamental truth that makes the broken window fallacy eternally useful and valid? Ayn Rand nailed it on the head with her “The Virtue of Selfishness” one of the tiniest philosophic books you’ll ever ecounter and even that book’s “thinness” can be shunted aside in favor of a three-page “Fable” proving rational human self-interest is the engine of capitalism, of liberty and of our very lives and happiness (http://www.econlib.org/library/Essays/rdPncl1.html). So let us nail it all down, why specifically did the Stimulus and recovery act fail?

A. Imagine a typical average free market job paying X dollars per year counting pay and benefits. A real, bona fide and typically permanent job except when it's taxed out of existence.

B. The average similar union job pays 1.62X dollars per year. The difference is FORCED extra pay and extra benefits and extra protections (seniority, featherbedding, etc., etc. ad nauseum) for union workers^^.

C. The average comparable government job pays 1.94X dollars per year in pay and benefits. These are specious jobs which could not exist were not two real jobs taxed out of existence. Yes, some of these jobs (soldiers, sailors, health educators, etc.) are absolutely necessary. Of course, if you were to eliminate virtually all of the non-essential government jobs, you could expect the free market to create real jobs almost magically.

D. The average government-union job pays roughly 2.28X dollars, nuff said.

E. By lying with statistics, the government adds in temporary “make-work” jobs such as the U.S. census work and treats those as if they were real and permanent jobs when counting.

F. Government initiatives, 100% of them, come at real cost which the Left with their “government can solve every problem” mentality willfully and consistently and constantly choose to ignore because it benefits their power grabbing to overlook such facts. For example, Obama is back to tooting his “five-million new green tech jobs” horn once again. This might actually work and actually help the country . . . but ONLY IF viable and efficient green technology had just arrived on the scene. Under those circumstances eleven million real jobs in the economy would be lost creating those five million green tech jobs and so the effect over say, the first six years of the “mandated conversion” process would be horrendous. However, as the example from the Spanish experience (they went from 3% unemployment to now sitting at 21% unemployment) clearly shows, because viable green technology in large part does NOT actually exist, 90% of the green jobs the Spanish government created were NOT permanent. In the Obama example that translates to five million original green tech jobs becoming 500,000 permanent green tech jobs still at the same initial cost: eleven million real, free market jobs.

G. Since Obama used the stimulus money largely to create not only government jobs, but also government union jobs and also temporary jobs . . . 2.4 actual jobs was the cost for each, often temporary government job created.

H. Ergo, regardless of the amount (100 jobs created or saved???) of jobs created or saved, the only valid statistic is NET JOBS ADDED or LOST in the PRIVATE SECTOR.

I. Addendum, the president’s new financial “reform” package is an even more dangerous initiative. Hidden within its 2,300+ pages are about fifty regulations that favor unions over the rest of us (their benefits and their tariffs upon foreign goods translate to OUR HIGHER PRICES. In seeking with this legislation, members to add to the union rolls and great amounts of money added to the union coffers across the country, Barack Obama has just insured that our recession will now become a full-blown DEPRESSION unless this bill, Obamacare and virtually all else his thrust upon us is repealed.

^^ Most people are surprised that union workers’ pay and benefits amount to “so little.” Think of it as a dynamic process. What happens is this: unions gradually drive their own jobs out of existence (consider the once huge American automobile industry) so the “average” of all union jobs at any given moment is 1.62X only because union jobs are being lost so rapidly (again look at the auto industry, robots are much more common in EX-union assembly-line jobs, of course, because they are economically viable there where they might not be in a non-union position). It’s just one more contradiction built into unionization that the union bosses don’t want the “proletariat” to consider.

So a while agowhen I made that emotional video calling Obama a new Hitler and askinghim why he wants to kill us I was actually right on the mark that Obamais the new Adolf Hitler and that his goal is to stifle free speech andhave us under complete control as a slave to the Government and theCorporations which makes it fascism.

Right now it's a corporate takeover by the International banking elite, the World Trade Organization, and the United Nations which hasalso taken a fight against copyright violations.
