The research, commissioned by the Countryside Alliance's Campaign for Shooting, has concluded that existing laws are targeting legitimate users of firearms rather than criminals.

The reason we put up with it for so long is because it has become such a huge system. It’s got such an enormous bureaucracy based around it. We have 1.4 million people employed by the National Health Service.

'NO RED TAPE'? NEW JERSEY TURNS AWAY NON-UNION RELIEF CREWS

How desperate is hurricane-ravaged New Jersey? Not desperate enough to suspend a union monopoly that keeps the state in thebottom ten states for economic competitiveness (and #48 forbusiness friendliness). Relief crews from Alabama who were specifically called to New Jersey found themselves diverted to Long Island, NY after they arrived because they use non-union labor. Alabama is a right-to-work state.

WAFF-TV of Hunstville, AL reports:

Crews from Huntsville, as well as Decatur Utilities and Joe Wheeler out of Trinity headed up there this week, but Derrick Moore, one of the Decatur workers, said they were told by crews in New Jersey that they can't do any work there since they're not union employees....

Understandably, Moore said they're frustrated being told "thanks, but no thanks."

With so much at stake--and lives still in danger--it would seem logical to tell special interests to step aside.

On Wednesday, while visiting cleanup efforts in New Jersey in the company of Gov. Chris Christie, President Barack Obama vowed: "We are not going to tolerate red tape, we are not going to tolerate bureaucracy."

I've spent the morning calling all of the Republican members of the House Oversight Committee to request a PUBLIC hearing BEFORE the election with Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Susan Rice. If it turns out that the White House was watching while Chris Stevens and his staff were being killed, and help could have been sent and it wasn't, then this is totally unacceptable and American voters should know this information before the election.

To Desire Socialism is to Desire Self-Flagellation ASK ANY CUBAN!

When a population moves, metaphorically, in a certain direction it is usually guided or influenced by current national circumstances, by political leaders who feed the masses with what they believe are policies that will ensure their re-election.

In times of self induced debt and economic decline, a nostalgic belief in a socialized system for the equalization of wealth becomes a mantra for those who support government bred entitlements. As we have often stated in these columns, entitlements become part of the DNA or genetic make-up of the recipients. Thus, politicians whose main goal is the perpetuation of their incumbency, will feed these wants and desires at the expense of the national State.

As the State runs out of money and attempts proper fiscal management, the disruption to the flow of entitlements leaves it open to protests and even riots as in the case of Greece. The Greeks are unhappy with the fact they are unable to continue to enjoy the fruits of European membership without cutting some of the overly generous benefits their politicians have been able to bestow. The Germans on the other hand who have the power to rescue them, feel why should they have to work until they are 67 and receive 47% of their last salary, and the Greeks work until they are 54 and get 94% of their last salary?

It is certainly incredible that the old adage, “those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it”, is perfectly apt when looking at socialism, its various forms, and its multiple failures. It does appear that government in the USA is headed toward a form of socialism that the population could easily accept, given the proper spin by its advocates. The spin, as with all socialist ideology, is aimed at the working class, the less fortunate in society, and the well intentioned but easily spun liberal. Finally, independent thinkers who are unable to disentangle the disingenuous, the misalignment of statistics, or the outright distortions of the presenter, become susceptible to amnesia of the history of socialism. Thus, we ignore history and embrace what has gone before even though the result will be a foregone conclusion.

To accept socialism is to desire self-flagellation, to accept punishment by accepting government control in many facets of life is to cede one’s freedom to authoritarian rule. One of the most ridiculous statements I ever heard came from a liberal leaning US tourist I was talking to on a visit to Mexico. I happened to mention that I felt sorry for the plight of the poor people in the market place. My friend said, “Oh, they are very happy!” I thought to myself, put yourself in their shoes. You might be happy, but would you be content? Therein lies the difference between those who keep the poor in their place, and those of us who want to raise them up with capitalistic opportunity. If you are poor you want freedom to rise above your station. Only capitalism can provide this opportunity. Ask any Cuban!

At least three White House advisers and officials, including President Obama's regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein, have ties to an effort funded by billionaire George Soros to push for a new, "progressive" U.S. Constitution.

WND first reported last week that Sunstein's wife, Samantha Power, has been a champion of a Soros-funded doctrine, entitled "responsibility to protect," which was used by Obama to justify engaging in an international military alliance to bomb Libya. As the National Security Council special adviser to Obama on human rights, Power reportedly influenced Obama in his decision.

Now it has emerged that Sunstein has maintained extensive ties to Soros' funding, particularly with regard to a movement that openly seeks to create a "progressive" consensus as to what the U.S. Constitution should provide for by the year 2020.

Also, Attorney General Eric Holder sat on the board of a Soros-funded group pushing the same "progressive" constitution.

WND has learned that in April 2005, Sunstein opened up a conference at Yale Law School entitled, "The Constitution in 2020," which sought to change the nature and interpretation of the Constitution by that year.

That event was sponsored by Soros' Open Society Institute as well as by the Center for American Progress, which is led by John Podesta, who served as co-chair of Obama's presidential transition team. Podesta's Center is said to be highly influential in helping to craft White House policy.

The Yale event on the Constitution was also sponsored by the American Constitution Society, or ACS, which has been described as a group meant to counter the work of the Federalist Society, which has been at the forefront of the push for a more conservative judiciary since its launch in 1982.

The ACS is the main organization behind the movement to ensure a more "progressive" constitution, having received more that $2,201,500 from Soros' Open Society since 2002.

Attorney General Holder served on the ACS board of directors.


Sunstein has spoken at numerous ACS events. For example, he was a speaker at a November 3, 2003 symposium by the American Constitution Society of the University of Chicago School of Law, where Sunstein was a professor.

But it was the 2005 Yale event led in part by Sunstein that has been described as jumpstarting the movement for a "progressive" constitution.

Jeffrey Rosen, a law professor at George Washington University, wrote at the New York Times Magazine in a 2009 piece about so-called liberal justice: "If this new understanding of legal liberalism can be traced back to a single moment, it was in April 2005, when the American Constitution Society and other progressive groups sponsored a conference at Yale Law School

From my Cuban friend ;

When I was about 9 years old I remember asking my dad about Castro. I asked, "Is Castro a good guy or bad?"

Dad said he couldn't tell!! This was about 1955. We were living in Louisiana at the time. Dad was in the Army and stationed there.

Cuba was fairly close and in the news a lot. The Cubans were asking the same question! Ike was president.

This past July 4th, we had the pleasure of sharing a summer barbecue with a refugee from Cuba. Our dinner conversation was starkly different from most.

This refugee came to the United States as a young boy in the early 1960's. His family was more fortunate than most, as they were able to bring a suitcase and $100 when they fled Castro's newly formed revolutionary paradise.

Our dinner consisted of all-American fare: hamburgers, potato salad, fresh ears of sweet corn and watermelon. This is a menu shared with family and friends nationwide while celebrating the birth of our beloved America on the Fourth of July.

We began with a simple discussion about our country, and the direction it has taken since Barack Obama came to power. We shared the usual complaints about the sour economy and liberal social engineering emanating from the rulers in Washington.

But then he said it. The sentence flowed naturally from our refugee guest. I assume it was unplanned. But it carried the weight of a freight train. "You know when Castro took power, none of us knew he was a Communist."

We sat stunned. He continued, "Yes, we all thought he was a patriot, a nationalist. Before the revolution he didn't sound like a radical."

The comparison at this point was easy, and I interjected, "You mean just like Barack Obama?"

He responded; "Yes, just like Barack Obama." He continued, "We were all shocked as the government just continued to grab more power. First they said the revolution is over, so please turn in your guns. We all complied."

I also remember my uncle saying: “Castro will only nationalize some of the big industries. He will never come and take our family hardware store!!” But that is exactly what happened. Castro started with the sugar mills and the large industries, but they eventually came and knocked on the door of our family hardware store. My family had run this store for generations. They said we now own the hardware store, you work for us. And that four-bedroom home you own...it is now our property too. You have to move yourself and the five children into those two rooms of the house, because others are moving in here with you."

The lesson learned from this discussion, is a lesson most Americans refuse to hear. Political leaders can lie about their agenda and once in office, they can take totally unexpected turns.

If you had asked us three years ago if we thought General Motors or Chrysler would be nationalized, we would have never believed it. We could never contemplate a country where the rule of law, the most fundamental building block of a justice society, would be evaporating, just like it did in Castro's Cuba in the early 1960's.

But the news of injustice keeps increasing; Black Panthers are not charged with wrong doing by the U.S. Department of Justice because their crimes are against whites; The bond holders of GM are stripped of their assets without being given due process by the government; Car Dealerships are closed without due process; Governmental leaders are bribed in full daylight, only to have all investigations of the crimes stifled by the Attorney General; The U.S. borders are overrun with crime and illegal activity, and the leaders in D.C. act as if it is important to protect the lawbreakers while the innocent are killed and overrun; When local communities attempt to enforce the law, they are ridiculed and threatened as racists and bigots. They are sued by the very administration entrusted with enforcing the law.
Without the rule of law, the U.S. Constitution is a sham!! Without the rule of law, our beloved America is swiftly becoming a country where only the well connected and politically powerful will be safe. As an author recently and so eloquently explained in her most recent book, "a culture of corruption has replaced honest government" (Michelle Malkin).

The only way this problem will be fixed, is by massive citizen action. All honest citizens that want to be treated equally, must come together and demand that the favoritism, the bribes, the uneven enforcement of law...end now!! And yes, it can happen if we all pull together.
May God save the United States of America!

If you're a Christian in these United States of America, you're probably next on the list. History bares that out.
The real problem here is, the boy from Cuba did manage to make it to the U.S. Today he and we will not have any place to escape to except death!

Ron Paul on Fair Tax http://youtu.be/RWHxKX6IiQk Folks I have been a supporter of Ron Paul for most of my adult life ( I'm 75 ), mostly because of my passion for the Fair Tax Law but I am also pragmatic,We must keep the pressure on through the groups our movement has spawned, we have weeded out some of the big government types and we must be ever vigilant on our Reps. To keep our movement alive, the Republican Party has some Constitutional Conservatives and is the only viable option we have to build on ! If we get enough Ron Pauls, Rand Pauls, Tom Coburns Jim Inhoffs,Michelle Bachmans etc. In Congress it won't matter who ts in the White House, we had 15 senators and 105 Representatives voted against TARP ( and none of them voted for obama to use it for paying off his cronies, stealing from GM shareholders and giving it it the UAW) . Since then we have elected a number of Reps., Senators and Governors .In my humble opinion the Republican Party is our only viable option , we must continue to build. There is a world of difference in Romney/Paul and the Soros Alinskyites in there now, with Romney/Paul we can hang on, 4 more yrs. Of the bunch in there now it's over !

The Most Danger to U.S. Sovereignty ever !

Everyone should write, call and e-mail your senators !

I believe that issues such as fast and furious etc.are purposely confusing clutter to divert us from the biggest threat to our FREEDOM, I believe this is the most serious issue that we are facing ! This is a serious issue that many do not know about. 

Obama is planning to ratify five treaties that give away our sovereignty to UN groups. They will give the UN authority over the US, our property rights, and our money.

ONE The Law of the Sea Treaty 

This has already been signed, and Obama was going to have Richard Lugar (who was just defeated) help him get it ratified. That's right, a RINO repuplican was going to help Obama give away our sovereignty. This treaty forces us to give the UN half of our royalties from offshore drilling. Then the UN would give that money to whomever they see fit. We would get one vote out of 160 as to where the money goes. And we'd have to give our (offshore) drilling technology to any nation that wants it - free.

TWO Outer Space Code of Conduct

Using the excuse that we can't let space junk build up in space...the EU has persuaded (bet that wasn't hard) Hilary Clinton to negotiate a code of conduct. That code would ban anything that might generate any debris in outer space (littering).
Here's the real deal....to prevent the US from placing anti-missile missiles on platforms in space. That leaves us defenseless from missile attacks by N Korea, Iran, China or whomever. Lefties of all types had a hissy when Bush opted out of the ABM treaty banning weapons of defense. Now they're trying to get it back in under a phony-baloney "code of conduct" to prevent littering.

THREE International Criminal Court 

Hilary Clinton has reversed Bush's policy and has been negotiating over U.S. Participation in an international court. Euro-leftists who are sponsoring the court are trying to craft a new "crime of aggression"; basically going to war without the approval of the UN. If we go along with that, our president and Cabinet officials can be arrested and prosecuted criminally for going to war without U.N. Approval. The court could even prosecute our Generals, soldiers or whomever they say was involved at their SOLE DISCRETION. Why does Hilary want to trust the UN to have real power over our president and our military??? Does she trust them? I don't. Do you?

FOUR Rights of the Child

A fourteen member court will be set up for this one. The draft for the treaty dictates that wealthy nations will be obligated to provide monies for housing, clothing, shoes, food, and schooling for kids in poor countries. This would dictate how much foreign aid we'd be obligated for - whether we could afford it or not - regardless of our struggling economy, our debt or whatever. And WE would have NO say in it. Euro-lefties are already using this in England to stop welfare cuts that England cannot afford to maintain...imagine that...Europe is dictating welfare obligations in England.

FIVE Small-arms control 

Hilary is about to start negotiating on a global ban on the export of small arms. It would only apply to private citizens - so far - but most small-arms deals come from governments, specifically the US, Israel, China, and Russia. The treaty would enforce the requirement that each nation implement measures to STOP the exportation of small arms. It can easily be used to force a national registration of all guns AND ammo.

Liberals and lefties of all types may applaud this, but it's giving up PERMANENTLY large portions of our sovereignty, money, and property rights. It will function as an amendment to our Constitution.

What can we do to stop this? Tell everyone !!! Call your legislators. This is NOT a small matter.

And shame on you , DICK Lugar for assisting Obama ins getting these ratified... You had to go, you traitor; don't let the door hit ya in the ass.

Obama is the one out in front talking about “Change we can believe in”, but the senator from Illinois is only the latest puppet.

We already know from the Internet that Soros has gone a long way to bankroll Obama’s campaign, but not so well known is that Soros worked in conjunction with Maurice Strong to saturate the American automobile market with the China-produced Chery.

“Like the bad guys in a spy movie, Soros and Strong teamed up on the Chery, a sort of poor man’s made-in-China vehicle, with which they hope to flood the U.S. Market next year.”

Strong has been saying all along that China would someday soon replace the U.S. As world economic leader.

Described in countless media write-ups as a cross between the Wizard of Oz and Dr. No, the Canadian oil billionaire was the Secretary General of the 1992 UN Conference on the environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro where the unveiling of Agenda 21 took place and subtly began to change the world as the rest of us know it.

For three decades, the United States has declined to sign on to a U.N. Treaty that would give unprecedented taxing and permitting authority over activity on international waters to a U.N.-created agency.

But the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea has been making its way though committee in the Senate, and a vote could come up before the end of the year. (RELATED: Trent Lott explains support for treaty he once opposed in the Senate)

National security analyst Frank Gaffney warns that signing the treaty would cede a significant portion of American sovereignty to an international body that is not electorally accountable to U.S. Citizens
