Why Just Women and GIrls.. our boys are having very serious problems adapting to a social order that ignores their needs and suppresses male engagement. Women have been abusing their privilege and position as victims long enough. Today's victims are boys and young men.
We need to stop Gender Discrimination and it starts with stopping programs specifically designed for one or the other sex... why isn't this Global Initiative entitled EMPOWERING OUR FUTURE or EMPOWERING OUR CHILDREN... why make this about sexual preference further DIVIDING society into opposite camps. This sort of victimization theology does nothing to advance equal opportunity or social justice... it does just the opposite... and the organizers of such events know it.
The politicization of sex has only driven a wedge between the sexes and added more hostility in an already divided and hostile world. We need to think about all children and make sure that they are all treated fairly and given the opportunity to excel. Organizing events strictly based on sex, race, religion or other cultural identify often leads to discriminatory conduct being promoted as affirmative action... when it is hardly affirmative at all. Such events emphasize our differences and decry past grievances and social behavior once accepted as somehow relative in today's era of social engagement and justice.
