President Joe Biden's administration is taking steps to restart by mid-November a program begun under his predecessor Donald Trump that forced asylum seekers to wait in Mexico for U.S. court hearings after a federal court deemed the termination of the program unjustified, U.S. officials said Thursday.

The administration, however, is planning to make another attempt to rescind the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), commonly called the "Remain in Mexico" policy, even as it takes steps to comply with the August ruling by Texas-based U.S. District Court Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, the officials said.

The possible reinstatement of MPP - even on a short-term basis - would add to a confusing mix of U.S. policies in place at the Mexican border, where crossings into the United States have reached 20-year highs in recent months. The administration said it can only move forward if Mexico agrees. Officials from both countries said they are discussing the matter.

Mexico's foreign ministry said in a statement on Thursday that it has expressed a "number of concerns" over MPP to U.S. officials, particularly around due process, legal certainty, access to legal aid and the safety of migrants. A senior Mexican official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said "there is no decision at this point" about the program's restart.

  • So....we have solutions for the border, we have ways to control the influx of illegals, controlling the cartels, the human trafficking, the drugs flooding into this country, and at the same time solve our problem with kids living at home into their twenties, depending on their parents for housing, food, health insurance, lingering without jobs.

We can bring back the draft, draft everyone at 18, men and women much like Israel, American citizens owe loyalty and willingness to protect all this country provides for them. At 18 everyone is drafted for border duty, to serve two years walking/ patrolling on foot, in boats all our borders and ports.

We keep the voluntier military as is, no changes there, but those who do not volunteer go on border duty, no exceptions, no BS excuses. If girls get pregnant before 18 or while in service, they must figure out who is going to be responsible for their child while they are serving at the border, there will be no government aid, they better line up relatives for the job because they are not going home to raise their babies, they must complete their time in service.

All serving at the border are trained just like all other branches of the military, combat ready, but they can never be deployed, sent overseas to fight foreign wars, they are strictly on border duty, making sure no one and nothing makes it over the border into the USA illegally.

During their two years working the border, they study American and world history, world geography, our constitution and one foreign language.
For their time in the service they will receive two years paid college or trade school,  as long as they maintain at least a B average. They fail to do so, they lose the privilege, we refuse to support anything less then a serious commitment if the people are paying for it. If they choose to remain in the military, naturally they can do so and make that a career.

The knowledge from early on that they will be sent off to secure our border for two years at 18, will give them a different outlook on life, they'll know that they are fed, housed, doctored, and educated  for two years while they serve, then they will have part of the rest of their education paid for by Uncle  Sam. They will be older, wiser, more mature to figure out what they want to do with their lives, make better decisions.

Colleges will have to rethink how they proceed, they will not be getting the mush brain child, rather a more sophisticated adult, patriots, knowledgable enough of the world they would not be easy to brainwash. Education could become serious again, like it was many decades ago!

We would solve the border crisis, we would have a strong military, everyone would be capable and comfortable handling guns, we would have a better educated more patriotic population, we would tame colleges....force them to rethink their prices, classes, and educators, we would force youngsters to think before they become sexually active and careless, to think responsibly, to think outside of themselves, and give them a purpose in their early lives (when they are the greatest danger to themselves) until they figure out what it is they want to do.
