Chris Murphy on Twitter: "Dear Republicans, your moment has come ...At the foot of Mount Rushmore on the Fourth of July, President Trump redrew the battle lines of the election, describing the contest not just as a referendum on his handling of the economy or his response to the coronavirus, but as a struggle against those who aim “to overthrow the American Revolution.”

He reiterated the message three days later, telling RealClearPolitics in an Oval Office interview that “we are in a culture war.”

Trump had warned at Rushmore that the country is under assault from “a merciless campaign to wipe out our history, defame our heroes, erase our values, and indoctrinate our children.” He said in his speech that “an angry mob” is working to “tear down statues of our Founders, deface our most sacred memorials, and unleash a wave of violent crime in our cities.”

And on Tuesday the president told RCP that his party needed to enlist in the culture war or risk ruin. “If the Republicans don't toughen up and get smart and get strong and protect our heritage and protect our country,” he explained, “I think they're going to have a very tough election.”

  • Once again, Trump proves his tremendous patriotism and love for this country. There is no way he is not going to win with another landslide in November.

  • Spines are useless when the problem is elsewhere. They are either one or more of the following or lack one or more of the following:

    they are fake Christians

    they are on the take

they are on the take from China

they are on the take from Soros

they have never read the Constitution, Declaration, NW Ordinance, Washington's Farewell Address or Mayflower Compact

they don't know what the words "oath" and "alliegence" mean

    they are on the take

IF they are Christians, they should have a spine because they rely not on their own strength and they can not lose, their feet are on a sure foundation and they have a good end.

IF they are Christians, they should live according to the words "GO", "SUBDUE", "TAKE POSSESSION", and be "FRUITFUL" and take "DOMINION" of all 7 montains of culture.

IF they are Christians, they should know the meaning of the word "RIGHTEOUS", as in the righteous shall rule the earth. Shall is a legal term that locks it into place, events and time.

IF they are Christianas, they should know the meanings of Ephesians 6:12 to put on the whole armor of God....so that you may stand, stand, and stand again. Stand UP.

SO, the crux of the matter is not the spine, but the rebirth, repentence and submission to someone Else's rule so that they may rule in HIs place and do so righteously.

I certainly see no standing, nor standing up, nor standing against, nor standing for.

    • Wow,you described the Democrat Party and Democrats to a T. Interesting.

    • and R's. I see them NOT standing. For or Against. Not up, but standing down.

    • The actual issue is that 50-60 years ago we had those qualities but in the 1975s we turned are innocent children over to the likes of the National Teachers Union, et al, we turned them over to anarchist and a new kind of neo-nazi communism, i.e., American Communist willing to use the violence and covert tactics of actual warfare...that was over 50 years ago.  And reason dictates that one of two things would have to happen to correct the situation, either:

      1.  Another 50 years of Reeducation from our side, or

      2.  Actual war and the problem with this option is that that is exactly what the left has been daring us to do (Karl Marx told them it is inevitable) since the 1960s and even more recently, why else do you think Barry Soetoro would buy Billions of 9mm rounds, but traditionally we have ALWAYS backed down... Enumerable times.

PS - Sadly, this isn't the middle ages and I doubt we'd get away with yet another crusade... Moreover, I suspect the average American would not understand the need to get bloody (because that is what it will take--it always has) for what they think is someone else's cause.

    • Government began growing then also. We opened the floodgates to Chinese crap. Buy American went away for cheap junk. Companies moved away. Prayer in schools gone. Roe. The 1st mass murder (shooting) was 11 years after Roe, the law that is not law. Sexual perversion entered the culture in television as the rot it is. No spanking. Both parents began working. Then technology came into the culture. In the late 80's technology had a vise grip on everything. The role and authority of the family, of parents, little by little, has decreased more and more.

That is what makes communism possible. When the church and the family are decreased, the government rises. We adapted communist agendas, methods, disloyalty, propaganda and now punishment.

  • 1. Trump is correct, in that we are, and have been for over 50 years, in a very serious life-and-death struggle against those who aim “'to overthrow the American Revolution.'”  The problem is this started the first the LAST Century, and we, the Good Guys, are exactly that far behind.

    2.  Trump is also correct, that “we are in a culture war.”  But, for crying out loud, we have been since Israel Cohen published his little work, i.e., "A Racial Program for the Twentieth Century" in 1912, and the trouble really began after Stalin murdered his way to the top of the Communist food chain in the late 1920s.  And we are only now, and probably far too late, beginning to understand the severity of the trouble we are in.

    3.  Trump said, “...if the Republicans don't toughen up and get smart and get strong and protect our heritage and protect our country,” he explained, 'I think they're going to have a very tough election.'”  This is a massive UNDERSTATEMENT, and by "toughen up," and "protect our heritage and protect our country,” although literally true who, these days, would dare to do those things which are necessary, but highly inconvenient, things to keep our Constitution and literally our Freedoms as was the original intent underlying the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th Amendments--which are currently under direct attack, i.e., drop everything to drive 50 miles to physically protect a statue, of whoever, or even, if needed, get home pickup whatever "tools" are needed to defend a local police station for example?  Maybe 1:100,000? Or, as would happen when a far-left State (California, Oregon, and Washington states come to mind) pass a law(s) prohibiting Free Speach in case of a certain "emergency."  Who would show up and STAY in front of their state capitol, face off angry state police and/or National Guard, be willing to get their collective heads caved in (or shot) because ALL THESE THINGS THE LEFT HAVE DONE (and are willing to do again) to makes the gains they have--and they will not go softly into that gentile night, because they have always known, as Karl Marx said, that it will take violence...violence we do not want to see or even know about.

It is, sadly, already a done-deal to say that virtually no American under the age of 30, and very few under the age of 50 would voluntarily try to enforce any of the above Constitutional Amendments.  Most especially since the AltLeft knows (or hopes) we're coming, i.e., it was the NEED they had for buying all those Billions of 9mm rounds.  Moreover, in that, the FEMA camps are still in operation one has to assume that in both cases the ancient dictum of "if you have a weapon, sooner or later you WILL use it" is in play and all the fear is on our side.

So, it is a hard thing to say but as an observer of the current situation, my feeling is that everyone, i.e., 99.999% of Americans will-do-nothing and as usual wait and see what happens.

PS - As much as I like Trump I think the offer to toughen up, etc. if I know Americans at all is, simply, too little and too late.

PPS - If Trump were tough enough himself to, for example, order martial law, those of us who need a backbone may eventually stand up and be counted before it actually is too late.

    • Well said... the people need leaders willing to risk their lives, liberty, and fortunes to preserve and defend our Constitutional Republic as much today as in the Days of George Washington... Sadly, none have risen to the occasion yet.  President Trump will need to do a lot more than ask America to grow a spine... he will have to help America stand by making some very difficult but necessary decisions concerning the 'Rule of Law' and how it can be reinstated... Martial Law will be necessary to reform our government and to drain the swamp.  The people have neglected the serious problems in government for too long and its cancer has metastasized requiring major surgery and chemo... and with it all the associated pain and suffering.

    • As you know, I am with you. Trump need to assume total authority over the country from the federal government down to city halls if we want to keep our freedom and liberty.

    • Pres. Trump needs to 'take care' that the laws of the United States are faithfully executed... this is particularly important among those charged with administering the government.  The President needs to hold our elected, appointed, and government service employees feet to the fire... Our Public Servants must obey the laws with copious care... avoiding even the appearance of being disloyal to the Constitution and the Republic.  Pres. Trump must use his Constitutional Executive Powers, as President, to put down the open insurrection and rebellion often disguised as lawful civil protest and protected speech... The political powers behind the insurrection and their supporters need to feel the full weight of the Law.

However, the DOJ, DHS, DOD, and other law enforcement agencies have demonstrated a serious reluctance to enforce the law...  In point of fact, they appear to be VIOLATING the law in congress with the rebel socialist and Marxist.  The Federal Judiciary appears unable or unwilling to restrain such conduct... with Supreme Court Justices openly abusing a clear reading and meaning of the US Constitution... choosing to make law rather than to administer the law free from political bias.

Thus, it appears that a Presidential declaration of a National Emergency and the implementation of limited Martial Law are justified to restore the rule of law.   Martial law can be tailored to limit its force, to deal with the serious abuses of the law by government officials.  Under the present situation, there is a definite and deleterious lack of federal law enforcement needed to deal with the ongoing espionage, insurrection, corruption, and treason taking place among some high ranking government officials.
