Trump Mulls Delaying General Election

Warning: Liberal Meltdown in progress - crybaby | Meme Generator

President Donald Trump hinted at a possible postponement of the November presidential election in a twitter post on Thursday.

“With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???" Trump tweeted.

Trump has vehemently opposed expanding vote-by-mail, citing election fraud concerns. Many states are working to expand voter options amid the coronavirus pandemic.

  • Failure to enforce the law ... too, hold criminal conduct accountable leads eventually to a total break down of civil order.  That is what has happened in America... we have arrived to a place where individuals like Hillary Clinton openly and repetitively violate our most important national security laws with impunity... We have arrived at the point where the elite political class have assumed immunity to the law,  they are now the NEW AGE ARISTOCRACY ... no longer subject to the law.

  • Can anyone imagine the US Military sanctioning two languages... what happens in combat when the unit commander doesn't speak the same language of his troops?  The idea of diversity can and is being taken way to far.  Not only in the military is it grossly problematic... it hinders commercial research and development... scientist need to work on technical problems, not linguistic difficulties. Only those wanting the US to fail would suggest we have two or three languages sanctioned as official languages for government and commerce.  STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES... and the democrats have plenty of stupid to go around.

    • Article 1, Section 4, Clause 1  of the US Constitution states: "The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators."  Congress may set any date or dates it likes for the election of its members.

Article 2, Section 1, Clause 4 of the US Constitution states: "The Congress may determine the Time of chusing the Electors, and the Day on which they shall give their Votes; which Day shall be the same throughout the United States." Congress sets the date(s) for chusing... by popular vote, the state electors (voting for president) and the Constitution sets the date in December of for the state electors to vote.

Congress sets the date(s) for the popular vote to choose State Electors and to vote for Federal Representatives, not the Constitution.  In fact, extended voting is already the law in many states... early voting.  Stop the disinformation.

Congress sets the date for the popular vote... for state electors who in turn vote for the President in December of each Presidential election year.

State electors meet in their respective state capitals in December to cast their votes. The results are certified by Congress, where they are tabulated nationally in the first week of January before a joint meeting of the Senate and House of Representatives.

You may want to take your own advice... Congress sets the date(s) for the popular vote to choose State Electors and too vote for Federal Representatives, not the Constitution.  In fact, extended voting is already the law in many states... early voting.  Stop the disinformation.

  • Unfortunately even the President can't change the date, that is set in by the Constitution.

    • The only date set by the Constitution is for casting Electoral Votes in December... I believe the second Tuesday of December... there is another requirement for Congress to meet in a joint session to tabulate the Electoral Votes the first week of January.   The popular vote for Presidential Electors is set by statutory law not the Constitution and is left up to the Congress and States.  Several States already have early voting... effectively multiple days to vote on... this can be extended to every State by the State legislatures and is a much better and secure method of voting while maintaining social distancing and mitigation policy .... set days to vote by Alphabetical Order spreading out the numbers showing up at the polls over at least 4 days...  1/3rd each regular day and one day for makeup voting to allow those who missed their normal day to vote due to an unforeseen event or emergency.

Mail-in votes are severely susceptible to massive election and voter fraud... and should not be used except for absentee voting where one CAN NOT MAKE IT TO THEIR POLLING PLACE DUE TO THEIR HEALTH< EMPLOYMENT OR OTHER PRESSING ISSUE THAT CAN NOT BE AVOIDED... absentee votes need to have a notary certification attesting to who cast the ballot... too arrive with the ballot or the vote should not be counted.  All absentee ballots need to be opened in front of election judges with representatives of both major parties present to attest to the absentee ballots eligibility to be counted and its notary affidavit as to who cast the ballot.

    • that is the reason why Obama wanted to change the constitution and others

  • I will vote the way it should be.

  • Our Socialist Governor of California said 30 million voters forms are to be mailed.California has a population of 39.5 million 20 million are registered voters now who is getting the other 10 million forms. If we can stand on line to go to Costco, Wal-Mar,Target then we can get in line to vote.

    • Amen!  Standing in line is good exercise might lose a pound.
