Civility, Not Unity
In those indelible words of Inigo Montoya, “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.” Just because socalist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden repeatedly referenced “unity” in his inaugural speech doesn’t make his agenda a unifying one. That fact was made clear by the actions he took immediately after entering the Oval Office. You see, when socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden and the Democrats call for “unity,” what they really mean is acquiescence to their leftist agenda. Unity should never be an end in and of itself. Of far greater importance is the ideal or agenda to which one is being called to conform or agree.
socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden issued 17 executive actions and orders on Day One, none of which did anything to promote “unity.” Rather, they all were blatantly political, as they reversed Donald Trump’s policies and reinstated Barack scumbag/liar-nObama’s. This was entirely expected, of course, but it’s absolutely false to paint these actions as “unifying” — they are just as divisive today as when scumbag/liar-nObama first ordered them.
Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw responded to socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s orders by succinctly exposing who they actually benefit:

For socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden and the Democrats, it’s clear that the call for “unity” is the bludgeon they will use to demand capitulation to their agenda, a theme socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden repeated last night. “And to overcome the challenges in front of us requires the most elusive of all things in a democracy: unity,” he said. “It requires us to come together in common love of what defines us as Americans: opportunity, liberty, dignity and respect, and to unite against common foes: hate, violence, disease and hopelessness.”
Once again, this rhetoric comes from the guy who on the campaign trail publicly boasted that if he were in high school with Donald Trump, “I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him.” This from the guy who disgustingly blamed Trump for the coronavirus-related deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans. This from the guy who repeatedly demonized Trump as a racist and a white supremacist. And even in his “unity” speech, socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden purposefully insinuated that Trump supporters were “white supremacists” and “domestic terrorists.” Unity? What unity?
As Heather Mac Donald observed, “ socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden rattled off a litany of white America’s sins: the ‘harsh, ugly reality’ of ‘racism, nativism, fear, [and] demonization’; ‘anger, resentment, hatred, [and] extremism.’ He did not name white Americans as such, but he did not need to. That qualifier is inherent in the language he chose to adopt.”
If socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden had issued a unified call for civility in the face of deep political divisions, and if he had demonstrated that civility by refusing to label and demonize his political opponents as racists, nativists, and fearmongers, he would have gone a long way toward what he called the need to “lower the temperature.” In fact, his remarks did little but ensure that it remains high.
On the other side of the “unity” theme, political analyst David Harsanyi concludes: “Political unity is an ugly, authoritarian idea. No free nation has domestic political unity, nor should it aspire to it. What ‘unity’ really means is capitulation. … Unity is found in comity with your neighbors, in your churches and schools, in your everyday interactions with your community. Politics is not a place for unity. It is a place for airing grievances. And we’ve got plenty.” And as policy analyst Josh Lawson notes, “If socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden really wants unity, he will affirm equality under the law like [Abraham] Lincoln and [Thomas] Jefferson did.”
As Mark Alexander observed, “There is a distinction between political ‘unity’ and ‘civility.’ socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s use of political unity is tantamount to political submission, the conformity associated with tyranny. To that end, we should not confuse political unity with civility.”

Here's What Awaits
To say that the nation socalist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden now leads is older, polarized, and financially insecure isn’t particularly insightful. We already know those things. Still, it’s helpful to review some of the data and to contemplate just what he and lowlife/liar-Kamala Harris have gotten themselves into.
“Key metrics of financial and social well-being show the challenges Mr. socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden faces as he moves into the White House on Wednesday,” write Paul Overberg and Janet Adamy in The Wall Street Journal. “The coronavirus pandemic halted the 11-year economic expansion and drove up unemployment just as the typical American household was starting to enjoy sustained income growth. Americans were living longer — an improvement from a period when the opioid crisis eroded life expectancy — until the pandemic exacted a swift, deadly toll. One government official said life expectancy could decline by the largest amount since World War II once the government completes last year’s mortality figures.”
As socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden correctly noted in his brief inaugural address, “A once-in-a-century virus silently stalks the country. It’s taken as many lives in one year as America lost in all of World War II. Millions of jobs have been lost. Hundreds of thousands of businesses closed.”
That pretty much sums up the serious part of the speech. He would utter the word “jobs” just twice more, and the word “economy” didn’t cross his lips even once.
As the Journal article notes, the stock market bequeathed to socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden by Donald Trump is at record highs, but only half the nation is in the market and reaping the rewards. Consumer debt is surging. And, thanks to a temporarily tanked economy and profligate coronavirus relief spending, our national debt, as compared with the size of the economy, “reached its highest point since the end of World War II.”
These are the realities that folks are feeling, but socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden gave them short shrift. Instead, perhaps just two minutes into his address, our 46th president landed on what he thinks are the most pressing issues we face: “A cry for racial justice some 400 years in the making. … A cry of survival comes from the planet itself, a cry that can’t be any more desperate or any more clear. And now a rise of political extremism, white supremacy, and domestic terrorism that we must confront and we will defeat.”
If socalist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden thinks passing the Green New Deal and cracking down on those 19 white supremacists will cure what ails us, we’re in for a rough four years.
Yes, we’re more racially diverse, as the Journal article notes. The nation’s non-Hispanic white population has shrunk, while its Hispanic, black, and Asian populations continue to grow. Our fastest-growing demographic is people of two or more races, which would seem to augur well for race relations. But it’s clear that we’re also racially polarized — which is what a country gets when its media beats an incessant drum about inequality, white supremacy, and police brutality, and gushes adoringly and uncritically about a Marxist pressure group called Black Lives Matter.
We’re a deeply fractured nation — there’s no getting around it. As the Journal reports, “The share of Americans who identify as conservative or liberal hasn’t changed much over the past decade. But within the parties, there has been a slight movement toward the more ardent corners of each ideology. Among GOP registered voters, 37% identified as very conservative in 2020, up from 33% in 2010. … Among Democratic registered voters, 25% considered themselves very liberal in 2020, up from 16% in 2010.”
As conservative author Conrad Black recently put it, “American democracy is at the lowest point in its post-segregation history: corrupt elections, abdicated courts, cowardly legislators, dishonest media, a prosecutocracy that terrorizes the whole country and wins 99 percent of its cases (95 percent without a trial), crumbling standards of education, skyrocketing crime rates, and a president-elect who looks and sounds like a waxworks dummy who has in his over-long career faced in all four directions on every major issue.”
“We need to come together as one nation,” a seemingly undeterred Joe Biden said yesterday. It was the most platitudinous of platitudes. A child could’ve written it.
“Unity, unity,” he preached, as if trying to one-up himself. But what he and his party and their Big Tech censors and corporate cancelers really want is uniformity. Good luck with that.

We Hope He Fails
In January 2009, Rush Limbaugh ruffled more than a few feathers when he said of Barack scumbag/liar-nObama’s incoming administration, “I hope he fails.”
Why would you say that? gasped media pundits everywhere. Simple, Rush explained: “I know what his politics are. I know what his plans are, as he has stated them. I don’t want them to succeed.”
The same is true in January 2021 as socalist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden embarks upon his own presidency, which itself is primarily an attempt to restore the “glory” of the scumbag/liar-nObama years and utterly dismantle all the outstanding successes of Donald Trump.
We hope socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden fails.
socalist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden, lowlife/liar-Kamala Harris, and the rest of the Democrat Party that will be running the show in Washington, DC, have no intention of upholding their solemn oaths “to support and defend” the U.S. Constitution. They have no intention of enacting policies that will benefit most Americans, whether economically, culturally, or any other way. We flat-out disagree with their plans, and we want nothing to do with their divisive agenda — even as they wrap it in a faux package of Unity™.
Fortunately, we’re not alone. There are tens of millions of Americans who vehemently oppose the Left’s radical agenda. Millions more may have hated Trump enough to vote for socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden, but that doesn’t mean they support socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s plans. We don’t want the Green New Deal or government healthcare for all. We don’t want to pay higher taxes that are redistributed for all kinds of things we oppose, sometimes on grounds of it violating our religious faith. We don’t want speech codes and pronoun police. We don’t want racist indoctrination in our schools corrupting the minds of our children.
Democrats plan all of these things under the banner of unity acquiescence, and we hope they fail.
Yet we have an uphill battle. Democrats control Washington, of course, but the mainstream media still holds sway over public opinion. It’ll parrot socalist/scumbag/liar-Joe’s talking points on the planet’s “cry for survival” with climate, and it’ll trumpet the idea that white Americans are racist rubes who need to be reeducated. Social media companies will continue to suppress free speech and dissent from Big Brother’s line. And far too many Americans fall for these narratives. They’re built on just enough shreds of truth to sound plausible.
Moreover, conservatism is hard. Which is the easier marketing strategy: to tell voters they’re responsible for their own economic advancement without government in the way, or that the government is the best available instrument for “helping” people? Which is more appealing to a miseducated and misinformed public: that Liberty comes with responsibility for your own actions, or that you’re part of a victim class that absolves you of that responsibility?
Truth is sometimes harder than lies, but lies are always worth opposing and truth is always worth fighting for.
All that said, conservatives should be fair, honest, and civil in our opposition. Christians should pray for Biden, Harris, and Congress. Pray that fairness, honesty, and civility will crowd out division and that integrity will take the place of self-aggrandizing posturing. Pray for an educated citizenry to hold our representatives accountable. Miracles, we know.
You might also say today is the unofficial start to the 2024 presidential race. Several Republicans have already shown an interest in running against all the coming failures (or is it “successes”?) of the socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden administration. socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden Disbands
Earlier this week we witnessed one of the concluding achievements of Donald Trump’s presidency — the report from his 1776 Commission. Given life by executive order the day before the 2020 election, the commission’s role was to give future generations a chance to understand the principles and history of America’s founding.
The 1776 Commission provided a counterbalance to the overwhelming trend of anti-Americanism in the teaching of history and civics in our schools. It’s as important for people to learn the troubling facts of America’s past as it is to learn of the nation’s successes, but the Left focuses only on the bad.
Ever since leftists began infiltrating America’s education system in the 1960s and ‘70s, they have been pushing a politically charged narrative of the nation’s history that paints a distorted and often false picture of a racist, imperialist nation. Now that public education and institutions of higher learning are predominantly run by the Left, that narrative has become part of the curriculum. The New York Times’s 1619 Project, an anti-American polemic that traded scholarship for propaganda, is the culmination of the leftist reeducation movement in America.
The result of that miseducation? Only 24% of 8th graders are at least “proficient” in U.S. history, while only 15% are proficient in government and civics.
The 1776 Commission is about more than providing “patriotic education,” as Trump termed it. It’s about studying American history in context and learning about America’s founding, recognizing that a country that does not possess a true understanding of its founding will not long survive.
The commission submitted its report Monday, but it will be the last report of the group. By 1:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, just one hour after Trump officially left office, the White House website had been scrubbed of all mentions of the commission. President socalist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden signed an executive order to kill the commission as one of his first acts in office. The media predictably savaged the report, misrepresenting it in headlines and stories.
Unity.
Fortunately, The Heritage Foundation has the full report and will continue to host it.
But the commission’s work is out there now, and it cannot be wished away. In a meeting conducted on January 5, the group discussed how best to understand and communicate the nation’s founding principles. Among the conclusions they reached was that religion and Judeo-Christian tradition needed to be part of any effort to understand the country’s history.
“There’s no way you can look at the constitutions of the 13 colonies … and say that our nation was not deeply influenced by religion,” said Dr. Carol Swain, a former law professor at Vanderbilt University. “And that is a part of who we are, part of history, we shouldn’t try to erase.”
The report is worth reading and sharing. It lays out an honest and reasoned approach to the study of America’s founding and what that means for each of us. It’s hard to encapsulate all that is shared in this document and convey its importance, but this statement in the conclusion comes close:
“America’s founding principles are true not because any generation — including our own — has lived them perfectly, but because they are based upon the eternal truths of the human condition. They are rooted in our capacity for evil and power for good, our longing for truth and striving for justice, our need for order and our love of freedom. Above all else, these principles recognize the worth, equality, potential, dignity, and glory of each and every man, woman, and child created in the image of God.”

socalist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden plans to put the concerns of American citizens and their interests in the back seat as he will return to the disastrous Barack scumbag/liar-nObama-era immigration policy. Noncitizens and those who gained access to this country illegally will now receive priority treatment as if they were not only welcomed guests but were themselves citizens of the republic.
socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden has proposed a plan that will put an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants living in the country on an eight-year path to U.S. citizenship. The Washington Post reports, “To qualify, immigrants must have been in the United States as of Jan. 1, a move meant to blunt any rush to the border.”
Well, so much for preventing that border rush. A migrant caravan that has formed in Honduras is not only expecting but demanding that socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden open the border for them. As one migrant stated, “I just want patience and prayers that we can get to the U.S. because they have a new president, socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden. He’s going to help all of us, he’s giving us 100 days to get to the U.S. and give us [legal] papers, so we can get a better life for our kids, and for our families.” Who can blame these migrants? Biden has essentially laid out the welcome mat by eliminating Donald Trump’s “wait in Mexico” asylum policy and suspending deportations.
Meanwhile, American citizens, especially lower-income working-class Americans, will be the ones feeling the brunt of socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s amnesty policy as they see their wages and job opportunities diminish due to an influx of illegal aliens.
Of course, for socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden and company, the prospect of gaining 11 million new Democrat voters outweighs any concerns over the plight of the American working class. As Breitbart reports, “Under current rules, legal immigrants can get citizenship and voting rights five years after getting green cards. But the socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden bill would allow the migrants to convert their green cards into citizenship in just three years.”
By the way, aren’t we still in the middle of a “dark winter” of a global pandemic? Why fling the immigration door open wide right now? Well, because the Democrats’ agenda on immigration has not changed. It is what it always has been — making more Democrat voters.

Let's Make an Impeachment Deal?
In David Mamet’s 1987 film “The Untouchables,” Sam Malone, the salty old Irish cop played by Sean Connery, says of Al Capone’s Chicago, “This town stinks like a [something or other] at low tide.”
Mamet’s characters always had a way with words.
And speaking of towns that stink, Senators Mitch turncoat-McConnell and Chuck scumbag/liar-Schumer met in DC on Tuesday. Apparently, they spoke for 30 minutes about a power-sharing arrangement in their brand-new 50-50 Senate.
It was, in turncoat-McConnell’s words, “a good discussion.”
That’s it. That’s all he said about their meeting. Chuck scumbag/liar-Schumer didn’t say much, either. This alone tells us just how sensitive the discussions were. Because the most dangerous place in DC isn’t in the midst of an antifa mob or a BLM mob or a Capitol mob; it’s between Schumer and a live mic. If all we can get out of him is that they “discussed a whole lot of issues,” then we can safely assume this is the start of some serious sausage-making. So maybe it’s best that they keep their lips buttoned.
Still, it’d be nice to know what they talked about.
The weather, perhaps? The inauguration ball? Senate rules and traditions? The filibuster? DC statehood? The Supreme Court? The Green New Deal? Whipping up enough Republican votes to help the Democrats convict Donald Trump in a Senate impeachment trial and thereby ensure he can never again run for the presidency?
On this last topic, we can think of one Republican who’s already got his mind made up — the guy who said this: “The mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and other powerful people.”
That was turncoat-Mitch McConnell — the man who himself took a full month before acknowledging socalist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden’s win. Presumably, he wasn’t referring to the moments just before the Capitol mayhem when the inciter-in-chief roared to a flag-wielding mob, “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”
Setting aside the sad fact that where impeachment is concerned, turncoat-McConnell has more in common with scumbag/liar-Nancy Pelosi, scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff, and scumbag/worthless--Maxine Waters than he does with Senate colleagues Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley, perhaps the most pathetic part of his eagerness to convict the former president is the unconstitutionality of it all. And this is a man who — throughout his Senate career and to his great credit — has invoked the Constitution as much as anyone. But as Judge Michael Luttig correctly pointed out more than a week ago, “It appears that even if the House of Representatives impeaches President Trump … the Senate trial on that impeachment will not begin until after Trump has left office and President-Elect socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden has become president on Jan. 20. That Senate trial would be unconstitutional.”
Luttig, who was once on George W. Bush’s Supreme Court short list, continued: “Trump would no longer be incumbent in the Office of the President … and would no longer be subject to ‘impeachment conviction’ by the Senate, under the Constitution’s Impeachment Clauses. Which is to say that the Senate’s only power under the Constitution is to convict — or not — an incumbent president” (emphasis ours).
scumbag/liar-Schumer, of course, couldn’t care less about the Constitution. “After what he has done,” scumbag/liar-Schumer said, “the consequences of which we were all witness to, Donald Trump should not be eligible to run for office ever again. … There will be a vote on barring him from running again.”
scumbag/liar-Schumer needs 67 votes. That means he needs 17 Republicans. And it sounds like he already has McConnell in his pocket. And, as New York Post columnist Michael Goodwin notes, a “yes” vote from turncoat-McConnell would likely open the floodgates — or at least embolden 16 others.
True, a power-sharing deal would likely help the GOP stave off the worst of the Democrats’ designs. But at what cost? Throwing Trump under the impeachment bus? No thanks. Besides, as Goodwin points out, “McConnell was just re-elected, so his seat is safe, but the GOP will get slaughtered in the 2022 midterms if Trumpers stay home, giving Dems at least four years of complete control of Washington.”
We think Goodwin is onto something. As is Kentucky’s junior senator, Rand Paul, who warns of a mass exodus from the GOP if Republican senators throw in for conviction.
To be sure, turncoat-McConnell was a conservative stalwart during his years as Senate majority leader. His efforts to seat conservative judges during the past four years will have long-lasting consequences for Liberty. And his resolute stand against Barack scumbag/liar- nObama’s attempt to place Merrick Garland on the Supreme Court gave us Justice Neil Gorsuch instead. A case can even be made that by making the Supreme Court a key campaign issue in the 2016 presidential campaign, turncoat-McConnell might’ve helped move just enough votes from scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton’s column into Donald Trump’s.
But here we are. And he’s dead wrong on this. Power sharing for the sake of power and at the expense of constitutional principles is conduct unbecoming. Trump is out of office. The impeachment door has closed. And even if it hadn’t closed, his January 6 speech was not an incitement to insurrection, which is the impeachment charge.
Please choose wisely, Senator turncoat-McConnell, and decide whether you’re with scumbag/liar-Nancy Pelosi and Chuck scumbag/liar-Schumer or the 74 million Americans who voted for Donald Trump. It can’t be both. ~ The Patriot Post

They're Coming to America
In 1980, singer Neil Diamond recorded a song that celebrated American immigration, first in the early 1900s and then more recently. The song included this chorus:
“On the boats and on the planes
They’re coming to America
Never looking back again
They’re coming to America.”
The song makes no distinction between the legal and orderly immigration of the early 20th century and the chaotic and illegal immigration that characterizes today’s movement of mostly Central Americans into the country.
Last Sunday, thousands of Hondurans formed caravans in an attempt to violate Mexico’s southern border on their way to our southern border. Police and soldiers wearing riot gear tried to block them, but the migrants broke through, undeterred by tear gas and batons.
They are likely coming because they are hearing that President socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden plans to deport fewer of them and because relatives have encouraged them to make the risky journey. They are coming because of poverty and crime in Honduras and other countries. Many of them had their homes destroyed by hurricanes.
socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden has also said he will not continue construction of Donald Trump’s border wall, which the Trump administration touted as having a significant deterrent effect on undocumented people crossing the border. That, too, sends a “y'all come” signal southward.
The prospect of a human tide coming to America now becomes very real. And the promise of U.S. citizenship for the 11 million undocumented already here can only serve as an additional enhancement for even more to come.
Interviewed on TV networks, some in the caravan say they want to come to America for jobs. What about those Americans who are out of work because of the pandemic? Shouldn’t U.S. citizens be first on the list for any available jobs? If migrants are illegally allowed in, or manage to get in, what signal will this send to the thousands — perhaps millions — who will come and what additional burden will that place on American taxpayers and social services?
I have been exploring possible travel to countries in Europe and Central and South America, hoping to break free from all the lockdowns and regulations in this country. Many of them are closed to American citizens. These countries apparently don’t want anyone bringing COVID with them. Shouldn’t that also be a concern for the U.S. government?
How many migrants seeking to come to America are infected with COVID and will aid in its spread? How many are gang members who will add to the crime problems in major U.S. cities?
The left claims Donald Trump is responsible for the January 6 rioting at the U.S. Capitol because he “incited” the crowd to insurrection with his rhetoric about a “stolen” election. Why, then, can’t socalist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s language about easing the path to America and gaining citizenship equally be a cause and effect?
Throughout history, uncontrolled immigration without assimilation has contributed to the collapse of other superpowers. The United States does not enjoy special protection from a similar fate. Some on the left cynically believe these migrants can be turned into Democrat voters and along with censoring conservative beliefs on social media and other platforms and creating states out of Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia the Republican Party and all opposition to their agenda can be squashed.
Neil Diamond’s song was meant as a patriotic celebration of America’s “melting pot.” Given the chaos that will come if Biden’s promise is not retracted, that “pot” is likely to boil over, causing irreversible harm. ~ The Patriot Post
