Senate Republicans Save Voting Rights
Senate Republicans invoked the filibuster on Tuesday, effectively killing (for the immediate future) the Democrats’ partisan power-grabbing legislation, S 1, which they had dubiously titled the “For the People Act.” Democrats and their Leftmedia propagandists dishonestly frame this as a “voting rights” bill, but make no mistake: It’s about Democrat power.
All 50 Republicans held the line, while Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV, Trump +39) once again showed commitment to his party over the will of his own constituents and even his own expressed principles. Despite loudly declaring that he objected to such a partisan bill, even offering a slightly watered-down version, Manchin ultimately fell in line.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) pulled no punches in his denunciation of the legislation. “The rotten inner workings of Democrats’ S 1 power grab have been thoroughly exposed to the light,” he stated. “Whichever label Democrats slap on their bill, the substance remains the same.” Ironically, Democrat Congressman Jamaal Bowman unintentionally agreed with McConnell’s assessment: “If we deliver [S 1], we maintain power in 2022. If we don’t … then we risk losing power, and risk losing this moment in American history to really push a progressive Democratic agenda.”
Prior to the vote, bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden’s White House issued a BIG Lie statement asserting, “Democracy is in peril, here, in America. The right to vote — a sacred right in this country — is under assault with an intensity and an aggressiveness we have not seen in a long time.” Well, if bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Biden is truly concerned about the state of “democracy” in America, then he should be breathing a sigh of relief and thanking Republicans for boldly standing against a Democrat threat against our great Republic. But, of course, bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden would rather keep spinning the yarn that GOP election integrity laws in various states are “Jim Crow 2.0.”
Senator Ted Cruz (TX) expertly turned the tables on this bogus talking point:
That is a grotesque lie, and Mr. President, the majority leader knows that. The president of the United States knows that. The vice president of the United States [knows that]. They know they’re lying. But ironically, they’ve inadvertently said something that is accurate about this piece of legislation. Jim Crow legislation was grotesque and ugly. It was legislation that was drafted without exception by Democratic politicians. Jim Crow was written by Democratic politicians, and its purpose, when the Jim Crow laws were written, [was] to prevent the voters from ever voting out of office Democratic politicians. One of the ugliest chapters of our nation’s history. And thankfully, we repudiated Jim Crow.
Well, the majority leader used the phrase Jim Crow 2.0 and inadvertently he’s right, but not about what he’s describing. He’s right about the ‘Corrupt Politicians Act.’ The ‘Corrupt Politicians Act’ follows the exact same pattern that Jim Crow did. It is partisan legislation written by elected Democrats, designed to keep elected Democrats in office and to steal the right to vote from the citizenry to decide on somebody else.
Cruz is exactly right — the party with a history of suppressing voting rights has been and remains to this day the Democrat Party.
Going all the way back to the first voting rights act, the 14th Amendment, it was Republicans who assured that the recently freed slaves were given full citizenship rights, and especially the right to vote.
With the Voting Rights Act of 1965, it was once again Republicans who, more than Democrats, stepped up to get the law passed, ending the Democrats’ Jim Crow abuses of voter rights.
And now, it is Republicans who have once again stepped up to protect the integrity of voting rights by ensuring that federalism is preserved, working to rebuild Americans’ confidence in an electoral system governed by standards of fairness and accuracy, and preventing the legitimate votes of Americans from being offset by fraudulent votes that Democrats aid with their bulk-mail ballot strategy.
The fact of the matter is that no democratic republic can stand if the citizenry cannot trust the accuracy and legality of the vote. What S 1 would have done is sow ever more distrust and uncertainty in future elections.
Finally, no matter the Democrats’ rhetoric, the fact of the matter is that the American people don’t see this legislation as being “for the people.” For example, the vast majority of Americans reject the Democrats’ opposition to voter ID. Furthermore, while Americans widely support mail-in voting, that comes with the caveat of more stringent verification requirements — commonsense protections to prevent voter fraud.
The truth is, Republicans aren’t against people voting; they’re against voter fraud. Democrats, on the other hand, not only dismiss voter fraud outright, they irrationally claim that any concerns and attempts to mitigate it are “racist” and a threat to democracy. Nothing could be further from the truth. But, again, Congressman Bowman let the cat out of the bag: This is all about the 2022 election and keeping Democrats in power. ~The Patriot Post
DeSantis Schools the Educational Establishment
We sound like a broken record, but Ron DeSantis just keeps doing good things.
The popular first-term Florida governor announced yesterday that his state’s students will get a well-rounded civics education — one that clearly spells out the “why” of American exceptionalism and the “why not” of other forms of government around the globe.
“[Florida] students will learn about patriots who come to America after fleeing communist regimes,” DeSantis declared. “Our students will learn from an integrated civic education curriculum that compares our rights and freedoms to places where they don’t exist like China and North Korea.”
As John Solomon reports, “DeSantis vowed to ensure his state’s students will be taught that communism is evil, as he signed several education reform bills that expand civics lessons and ban ‘intellectually oppressive’ environments at state universities often deemed unfriendly to conservatives.”
Communism is evil, of course, and thoroughly discredited, but it keeps rearing its ugly head in leftist educational curricula. Critical Race Theory, for example, which DeSantis wisely banned from his state’s classrooms in March, is shot through with Marxist ideology.
But there’s a much more compelling story to teach to our children, and DeSantis knows it. “Why would somebody flee across shark infested waters, say leaving from Cuba, to come to southern Florida?” he asks. “Why would somebody leave a place like Vietnam? Why would people leave these countries and risk their life to be able to come here? It’s important that students understand that.”
As Solomon continues, “One of the bills the Florida governor signed protects free speech at state universities by banning schools from censoring ideas and opinions ‘they may find uncomfortable, unwelcome, disagreeable, or offensive.’”
DeSantis put it this way:
It used to be thought that a university campus was a place where you’d be exposed to a lot of different ideas. Unfortunately now, the norm is really these are more intellectually repressive environments. You have orthodoxies that are promoted and other viewpoints are shunned, or even suppressed. We don’t want that in Florida.
Is it any wonder, then, that Donald Trump Jr. said recently that if his dad isn’t the guy in 2024, then the 42-year-old Florida governor likely is? “I think, you know, what Ron DeSantis has done in Florida is outstanding,” he said. “I think he’s a case study right now. We need more people willing to take [the Left] on like he has.”
Trump Jr. went on to note that DeSantis has “a very bright continuing future, whether that’s with my father, whether that’s — if my father doesn’t run — on his own.”
“Give me four years to teach the children,” said Vladimir Lenin, the infamous founding father of Soviet communism, “and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.”
Ron DeSantis clearly understands his history, and he’s not about to let the children and young adults of Florida fall victim to the latter-day Leninists who infect our educational institutions at every level.
As for our nation’s other governors, we can think of more than a few who have some catching up to do.

COVID Vaccines Are a Political Mess
One of the great ironies exposed during the coronavirus pandemic is the professed dedication to Science™ from the same people suppressing scientific debate.
The American Heritage Dictionary defines science as a noun meaning “the observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, and theoretical explanation of phenomena.” In other words, to paraphrase the great “scientist” Steven Tyler from the rock band Aerosmith, science is often a journey, not a destination.
Some science is settled, of course, like the fact that there are two biological sexes, or that life begins at conception. The usual suspects suppress or reject that science. Other science is still undetermined because the subject matter is relatively new.
Take COVID vaccines, for instance.
It was an impressive feat of scientific achievement that multiple vaccines were developed last year in record time. Much credit goes to President Donald Trump for initiating Operation Warp Speed — never mind President bumble/ socialist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden’s disgraceful attempts to take credit. More on that in a moment.
Yet because these vaccines were developed using new mRNA technology, and they were designed to fight a novel virus, the short clinical testing and emergency approval left a lot of questions unanswered. For example: How does this vaccine perform in the population at large? What are the side effects, and how dangerous are they? Should people who’ve had COVID still get the vaccine?
As Mark Alexander wrote last week: “Understanding the increased incidence of myocarditis in ages 16 to 24 is particularly important given the growing chorus of secondary schools and colleges requiring vaccination as a condition of attendance. Likewise, many employers of young people may mandate the vaccine as a term of employment.”
A study in Norway is attempting to determine correlation or causation in the deaths of 100 nursing home residents who received the Pfizer vaccine. It was “likely” a factor in 10 deaths, and “possibly” a factor in another 26. Serious questions like these deserve investigation and open and honest answers.
The only thing anyone can do is make a choice based on the best information possible. But when information is suppressed because of the political bent of social media platforms or news organizations, we’re left with less information than we need.
It’s little surprise, therefore, that after the initial surge in vaccination among the American population, the rate has tailed off dramatically. In fact, as we noted, bumble/ socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden has on multiple occasions wrongly taken credit for getting so many Americans vaccinated so quickly. In the first couple of months after he took office, all he had to do was not drop the baton Trump handed him.
Maintaining the pace, however, was bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Biden’s responsibility — at least insofar as a president even plays a role in private medical decisions, which is perhaps an entirely different story.
Well, on Tuesday, the White House quietly conceded that the U.S. will not reach bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s goal of vaccinating 70% of American adults by July 4. This was the only goal for which bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Biden has been truly responsible, and he couldn’t meet it.
The most hesitant group is adults age 18-26 — the only demographic that will not hit 70%, and also the reason for the overall shortfall. We’ll make a few brief bulleted points:
The virus has roughly a 99.994% survivability rate among people aged 20-24, and that’s if they’re among the one in 10 Americans of any age who’ve even contracted the virus.
Young people generally see themselves as somewhat invincible, yet this age group is also the most fearful of COVID. This fear manifests as both vaccine hesitancy and mask dependency.
Vaccine advocates like bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden have for months sent mixed signals that life won’t really change much after getting “the jab.” So, many wonder, why become a guinea pig?
The aforementioned mandates among schools and employers — with the accompanying lost jobs and even criminal charges — naturally make some people all the more resistant to submission. (This is America, after all.) The same was the case with isolation, masks, etc., but it’s even more true of an emergency-approved and still unsettled vaccine.
To tie it all together, taking vaccines is and should be in most cases a personal decision. That decision should be informed by as much non-politicized information as possible. And that information should be readily accessible, not suppressed by platforms that falsely claim to have your best interests at heart. Nellis Is a Drag
We wonder what the major malfunction is at Nellis Air Force Base. Nellis is, after all, “The Home of the Fighter Pilot,” the home of the Thunderbirds, the home of the U.S. Air Force’s Warfare Center, and the place whose mission has historically been to train the best combat aviators and air crews in the world.
So what are its leaders doing hosting a drag queen show at one of their on-base dining and entertainment clubs? Are we now trying to make the ChiComs and the Russians laugh themselves to death?
Here’s how the base explained it in a statement:
Nellis Air Force Base and the 99th Air Base Wing hosted its first-ever drag show Thursday, June 17, at the Nellis Club. The event was sponsored by a private organization and provided an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the history and significance of drag performance art within the LGBT+ community.
Ensuring our ranks reflect and are inclusive of the American people is essential to the morale, cohesion, and readiness of the military. Nellis Air Force Base is committed to providing and championing an environment that is characterized by equal opportunity, diversity, and inclusion.
We wonder: What does drag performance within the so-called LGBT+ community have to do with fighter pilot performance within the U.S. military community? And since when is this sort of aberrant behavior by a vanishingly small segment of the American people essential to the morale, cohesion, and readiness of our nation’s military?
And what might the base’s namesake, who flew 70 combat missions in the European Air Theater during World War II before being shot down over Luxembourg during the Battle of the Bulge — what might 1st Lieutenant William Nellis have thought of all this?
Air Force veteran podcaster “BK” alerted a wider audience about the event by posting a digital flier that read: “DRAG-U-NELLIS” and “CLASS IS IN SESSION.”
As BK put it, “So Nellis AFB is having a base-sanctioned drag Queen show; isn’t that awesome? Maybe some of our military ‘journalists’ can call them up and ask them about this.”
Earlier this week, we suggested that President Joe Biden was at war with his own military, given that he’s done so much since taking office to demoralize our troops and degrade their warfighting capability. Rooting out “extremism” and “white supremacy” within the ranks seems to be the top priority of this commander-in-chief, followed closely by ensuring that “transgender” warriors are able to have their sex change surgeries on the taxpayers’ dime.

When the Foundations Are Destroyed
“When the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” —Psalm 11:3
What we are seeing happening here in America is not something new. We are seeing the results of decades of careful planning and subversion by a far-left vision to destroy the religious foundations of this nation. Our spiritual heritage goes back to the Mayflower Compact.
In 1620, the Pilgrims made a covenant — this new nation would be a holy nation in covenant with a Holy God. For centuries, we tried our best to live up to this ideal, failing often, but still trying. When we drifted from God, He used revivals to bring us back into relationship with Him (the First and Second Great Awakenings).
Yet other powers have been at work. At the turn of the 20th century, a group of about 100 people met above a restaurant in New York City. Their goal was to overthrow our Christian worldview with a “new” doctrine called Marxism. The new organization called itself the “Intercollegiate Socialist Society.”
The members, young at the time, would become very well known in years to come. They included Upton Sinclair (godfather of the organization), Jack London (author), Clarence Darrow (attorney), Walter Lippman (author), Eugene Debs (future Socialist Party candidate for president), and Walther Reuther (future president of the UAW), to name a few. Their goal: Establish socialist chapters on as many college campuses as possible.
The organization changed its name over the years, but its purpose never changed. It was to remake America by destroying the spiritual foundation of the nation. Future members of the organization were literally the “who’s who” in America. They infiltrated pulpits, businesses, universities, courts, unions, newspapers, and politics — every aspect of our nation was targeted. One member, Robert Baldwin, a communist, founded the American Civil Liberties Union.
Since 1905, these Marxists have succeeded in convincing several generations of our youth that America is corrupt and evil. They control Hollywood, the media, universities, and Big Tech. They bully people who will not bow to their ideology. They are masters at blame-shifting, accusing their political rivals of doing what they themselves are guilty of.
Remember the “collusion” with Russia that Donald Trump was accused of? In reality, we know now it was scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the DNC that funded the propaganda. That’s sometimes called a “false flag” operation. The Left uses “psychological projection” and fear tactics to get Americans to do what we would not normally do. Think of mask mandates and total economic shutdowns to “save us” from the pandemic.
German philosopher Georg Hegel, an early socialist/ Marxist, said, “The only thing we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history.” All the mistakes made by world leaders in the past — some with disastrous results — are being repeated today. Recall British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain making a deal with Adolph Hitler thinking it would result in peace. It was not long before Hitler invaded Poland and World War II began.
Today, our president will not hold the bad actors of the world accountable for anything. China unleashes a global pandemic? No worries; he’s got your back. Russia, Iran, and North Korea clearly see that America is weak and vulnerable.
But it’s not too late. When Americans restore their spiritual foundation, we will have the courage and resolve to face our enemies. History bears this out.

After months of silence, President bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Biden will deliver a major speech today on the growing crime wave sweeping the country. It’s obvious why bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden is finally addressing this topic. Polling shows that the overwhelming majority of Americans feel less safe and are increasingly alarmed at rising crime in their communities.
But I have zero expectation that bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Biden will actually do anything to address rising crime rates and growing disrespect for the police. He can’t do anything about those issues because he and his party are deeply implicated in the breakdown of law and order.
White House Press Secretary liar-Jen Psaki made it clear that bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden will blame it on “gun violence,” as if guns discharge by themselves. Some big city mayors say lifting COVID restrictions is responsible for the rise in crime. In other words, if no one is allowed to leave their homes, crime drops.
I wonder if the president realizes that there has been a 40% increase in the number of police officers deliberately murdered in the first six months of this year. Another police officer was murdered in the line of duty in Colorado Monday.
Radical leftists and their liberal media allies have fed our country a steady diet of anti-police rhetoric. Morale among law enforcement officers is in the tank. Retirements are up and recruiting is down. Words matter. Policies matter.
There’s another reason why bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Biden and the left have no credibility on lawlessness. He is personally responsible for the lawlessness taking place every day on our southern border.
The border is increasingly controlled by international drug cartels, gangs like MS-13, human traffickers and illegal immigrants who are pouring into our country by the hundreds of thousands every month because bumble/ socialist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden refuses to enforce the law and secure our border.
Biden’s open border policies are guaranteeing that more crime is coming to your city and state. Catch and release is fine in fishing, but terrible when it comes to border security and the security of our communities.
So, bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden will make his speech, crafted for him by the wordsmiths at the White House. But nothing he says or does will have any impact on the crime ravaging your neighborhood, your schools and your city streets.
The Unhinged Left
It’s not unusual in my conversations today that someone expresses their frustration with the growing anti-Americanism in our culture. Sadly, it’s a huge problem on the left.
Yesterday, I told you about a singer who said the Stars and Stripes is no longer a symbol of freedom. She says we need a new flag. Well, here’s another example that has most Americans fuming.
Chelsea Wolfe, a transgender member of the U.S. Olympic team, wrote last year that he wants to win a medal so he can burn the U.S. flag on the Olympic podium.
His hatred of our country was prompted by the commonsense policies of the Trump/Pence Administration meant to keep biological boys out of girls’ bathrooms and locker rooms, and to ensure that girls do not lose out on college scholarships because they are forced to compete against biological boys in athletics.
The U.S. Olympic Committee should kick him off the team now!
Of course, Wolfe quickly deleted his offensive comment and tried to clarify his remarks. But the clarification didn’t help. He claimed that he was “fighting fascism,” and trying to show the world that America is “not all of the bad things that we’re known for.”
So, in his disturbed mind America is generally bad and you’re a fascist for wanting to keep men out of women’s bathrooms and boys out of girls’ sports.
If an athlete made racist comments in the past, they would be and should be kicked off our Olympic team. Expressing hate for America should not be acceptable for members of the U.S. Olympic team either. Remove him now!
I miss Donald Trump. If he were president today, he would demand action from the U.S. Olympic Committee. I hope more elected officials will speak up. This war against reality, normalcy and our country is the most serious battle we’re facing as a nation today.
It’s NOT Fair
The fight to preserve girls’ sports is not an esoteric debate, especially given the left’s incessant demands for “fairness.” There is no fairness in forcing girls to compete against stronger, faster boys.
That’s the whole reason we have girls’ sports in the first place! Again, I just don’t understand why women tolerate this and allow leftists to humiliate their daughters.
As Senator Tom Cotton recently noted, 76 high school boys in 2019 ran faster times in 100 meter races than Florence Griffith Joyner, who currently holds the women’s Olympic record in the same 100 meter race.
There are thousands of male athletes who can outperform the most elite female athletes. If this insanity is not checked, it won’t be long before all women’s athletic records are held by biological men claiming to be women.
liar-Hunter’s Corruption
Little in Washington surprises me anymore, but it is truly shocking how the liberal media are giving liar-Hunter Biden a perpetual “Get Out of Jail Free” card. His casual use of racial slurs was completely ignored, just like his drug use, his womanizing and his sweetheart deals with enemies of the United States while his father served in high political office.
Now we’re discovering that liar-Hunter Biden is really a national treasure — one of the greatest American blow artists ever. If you’re not familiar with blow art, one columnist described it this way:
“Using a metal pipe about the size of a glass crack pipe, liar-Hunter Biden blows some kind of mixture of paint and alcohol onto special paper to create colorful blotches. It is the sort of thing you would tape to the fridge door if your kindergarten child created it with finger paints.”
According to some “experts,” liar-Hunter Biden could get as much as $1 million for each work of blow art. Chances are we’ll never know who is purchasing Hunter’s art. And this windfall conveniently comes as he’s facing major IRS problems and other legal difficulties.

Walter Schaub, a top ethics adviser in the scumbag/liar-nObama Administration, blasted liar-Hunter Biden’s art sales, saying, “The notion of a president’s son capitalizing on that relationship by selling art at obviously inflated prices and keeping the public in the dark about who’s funneling money to him has a shameful and grifty feel to it.” ~The Patriot Post
