The Democrats’ Public Shaming Is Now Coming For You

{ thefederalist.com } ~ In June of 2018, a spate of incidents occurred in which Trump administration officials were heckled at or asked to leave restaurants. This happened to then-Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen who was heckled at a DC eatery and then-Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders who was asked to leave a Virginia restaurant by its owner. A debate grew about whether such public shaming was an acceptable form of political speech. Many on the left argued it was.

One Democrat, Rep. scumbag/mad-Maxine Waters had no doubt about the just nature of this tactic, she said at the time, “Lets make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”

Other Democrats pushed back, albeit gently, against scumbag/mad-Waters’ rather extreme remarks but now it appears scumbag/mad-Waters’ approach is gaining momentum, not in regard to members of Trump’s Cabinet, but rather against any person that refuses to obey the orders of Black Lives Matters activists. This week a viral video emerged of a woman being harangued by a large, mostly white, BLM crowd, screamed at, with people right in her face because she refused to raise her fist in the air in a sign of solidarity.

To call this shift from shaming politicians to shaming regular citizens predictable is a vast understatement. It was always the logical end of the road scumbag/mad-Waters was laying out. After all, if political disagreement is enough justification for screaming at a person in power, why not a person you suspect of help putting them there? In the case this week, which was one of many, the young woman was actually supportive of BLM, but her refusal to raise her fist was sufficient to make her a target.

This deeply insidious behavior is the result of a Democratic Party and corporate media that doesn’t simply disagree with Trump supporters, or even conservatives more generally, but who express hatred for them. In the eyes of the cowardly thugs screaming at a defenseless woman, anyone who does not share their beliefs deserves to be punished and shamed.

We have seen similar behavior in Portland, Oregon where mobs have poured into residential neighborhoods late at night screaming into megaphones and shining lights in windows to wake residents up. If you are not sufficiently woke these people will make sure you literally become so. We have also seen a crowd in Minnesota, including at least one Democratic politician hurling profanity at families with small children.

It is not clear if news of these incidents has made its way down to drumbling lips liar-Joe Biden in his basement bunker but it is abundantly clear that Democrats in general are desperate to pretend these things aren’t happening. There is a very good reason for this. These types of protest, like blocking traffic, or barricading streets, do not involve physical violence, they are technically “peaceful protests” and Democrats will not, perhaps even cannot bring themselves to condemn these intensely peaceful actions lest they offend the sensibilities of their progressive base.

So where does that leave us? It leaves us in a place where everyone may be subject to any harassment short of physical violence in a public space and one of the nation’s two major political parties gives that behavior its tacit approval. Do we really want to live in a country where everyday citizens are subject to this? If you are the Democrats the answer is yes, as long as it helps you win elections.

If the Democrats are too cowed to condemn these cowardly and aggressive actions, then the rest of us must. All of us must be clear that this behavior is not acceptable; no matter how important some group of activists think their preferred policy position is. This is something that should go without saying. It should have gone without saying in the summer of 2018. It was wrong then and it is wrong now. Perhaps Democrats will grow a spine and say so, but don’t count on it.    https://thefederalist.com/2020/08/26/the-democrats-public-shaming-is-now-coming-for-you/

    • Trump is the best we got and a great leader. I trust that he does the right thing at all times. He knows what he is doing. There is no use in second guessing Trump. Instead, take a look at how great he has made America again. Just compare today with January 19, 2017 and you will see how much good the man has done for America. Give credit where credit is due, and stop focusing on all the other things Trump could have done in addition to the million of things he has done. And don't forget that if Biden - the only other realistic choice on the ballot - would become president, the country would end up with communism, printing money, huge budget deficits, riots and chaos. I am sure you don't want that.

    • Absolutely one of the most sensible comments in this thread!  Thanks paul.

    • You sir stir the shit.

I have faith in our President to do the right thing at the right time

    • Bring the cabal down and everything else withers on the vine.

    • I agree... but it will take more than the rhetoric of law and order to bring down the Deep State and  Swamp... the cabal working to fundamentally transform America from a Constitutional Republic into a Socialist State and a member of the New Worl Order.  We need a new Sheriff in DC who will enforce the law not talk about it.

America had better pray that the current insurrection doesn't result in the ballot box being so tainted that one is unable to certify the winners of the election.  If we are unable to qualify a presidential ticket by 20 Jan 2021 the choice for President will by Constitutional law (12th Amendment) devolve to Congress and the House of Representatives shall immediately vote for who shall be President, from the candidates (no more than 3) with the highest CONFIRMED electoral votes.  Who controls the House?  This could be very problematic and result in civil war or mass chaos as both parties and the American people cry foul.

    • Yes, there is alot that can happen, so the expose' has to come quickly.

    • Thank you for that discerning and enlightening critique...  However, you are greatly misinformed regarding the serious situation developing in the USA.

I assume you have no concern over the open insurrection or the historic pattern such events foretell... let us hope that our elections are without interruption... but I will warn you Hillary has already stated Biden should never concede... Why  ... read the Constitution and discover what could happen if we have no confirmed winner by the beginning of the new term 20 January... The choice for President shall devolve to the House of Representatives

The election of a President, when sufficient numbers of electors are not a majority for either candidate... or the numbers of electors supporting the candidates is contested and delayed making it impossible to determine who has reached a majority of electors,  it shall devolve to Congress to elect a president. The House of Representatives shall choose"immediately", by ballot, the president   ... See the 12th Amendment which follows...

"The person having the greatest number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; and if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President. But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote; a quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or members from two-thirds of the states, and a majority of all the states shall be necessary to a choice." 12th Amendment  https://constitution.congress.gov/constitution/amendment-12/

      20th Amendment, Section 3:

"If, at the time fixed for the beginning of the term of the President, the President elect shall have died, the Vice President elect shall become President. If a President shall not have been chosen before the time fixed for the beginning of his term, or if the President elect shall have failed to qualify, then the Vice President elect shall act as President until a President shall have qualified; and the Congress may by law provide for the case wherein neither a President elect nor a Vice President elect shall have qualified, declaring who shall then act as President, or the manner in which one who is to act shall be selected, and such person shall act accordingly until a President or Vice President shall have qualified." no time limit to qualify or to set new elections if never able to qualify.  Big problem.

      See: https://constitution.congress.gov/constitution/amendment-20/

Note: If neither the President or Vice President has been certified by the beginning of their term, Congress may by law declare who shall then act as President and Vice President until a qualified President and Vice President shall have qualified... no time limit provided and no specifics on how they shall be selected.
