There was a lot of history at Super Bowl LV on Sunday. Unfortunately, not all of it looks good when it comes to how many people actually watched – and we’re not just talking about Nielsen’s unprecedented delay in getting the actual data out.
In figures released Tuesday morning by CBS Sports, the big game had a total audience of 96.4 million viewers on CBS and a bundle of platforms and outlets, according to Nielsen. Confirming suspicions that many had even going into the matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs, that is the least-watched Super Bowl in recent history.
With around 91.6 million viewers on CBS alone, the 2021 Super Bowl is still the most watched show of the past year. However, taking an 8% stumble from what Fox had on its broadcast network last year, the 55th Super Bowl distinctly had the smallest network audience since the very different TV era of 2006.

People who continue to support the NBA, NFL and MLB need to get real lives. They live vicariously through those ridiculous sports. Supporters of professional sports are saps who spend their money to enrich a bunch of jerks called pros. Those pros don't give a hoot about the fans.

Atv, I have never watch the nba but I don't like basketball so don't watch college either and quit the nfl several years ago. Those overpaid prima donnas will never get money from me and I try to avoid any company that panders to them if I know about it.

I quit watching the super bowl when mtv took over the half time and turned it into a smut-fest and quit watching the nfl totally when they turned into the homosexual champions and denigrated my faith. I WILL NOT EVER watch an nfl game nor even watch highlight or commentaries about it. If they can't be moral and patriotic they don't need me. All Christians should boycott everything about the nfl.

Superficial vs. Super Bowl. There is nothing wrong with a Super Bowl (this includes the game, half-time show and the ads) until it becomes "superficial." Prayerfully look at it from God's perspective. For example: Is God happy with an ad using His church and imagery of the Cross to suggest we should meet in a "middle ground" and become a "re-united" States? The Father looks at this nation of His as the United States of America - One nation under God! It does not require "re-uniting" to meet in the middle as the suble brainwashing might suggest. What is needed is repentance, where there is no middle ground.
