Whenever insanity becomes the driving force in government... it is time to consider seceding from such a government. The several States of the Union are not permanently joined at the hip... secession is not prohibited by the Constitution.

The US Constitution is a contract between the consenting SOVERIGN States of the Union, known as the United States of America...  As such, when serious disagreements arise and mutual consent is unable to settle such disagreements, the contract may be dissolved by similar agreement or consent... and if need be... by force of the soverign will of the participating States or State.

America and its several States being the product of the People's consent have arrived at an impasse in governance... such that the continued consent to be governed has been broached by the criminal conduct of major parties to the contract.  The resulting rift between the States and the Public is now critical.  There exist FUNDAMENTAL disagreements in the Constitution and its application in law. So great are the differences that no peaceful resolution is possible. As one party resorted to Electoral Fraud, usurping the consent of the people to be governed.  This breach of the law will not be tolerated, by several of the member States, and after seeking recourse in the courts the offended party finds them corrupt and unable to properly address the facts and the law. Hence, there is a call to secede echoing loudly in the halls of several State Legislatures.

It is time for the offended and oppressed States to form a 'Secession Caucus' in both houses of the Congress of the United States... to formally examine their secession from the Union and the formation of new governments based on the principals and needs of their citizens. It is time for the States to separate themselves from the criminal cabal operating as the federal government of the United States.  It is with great trepidation such an undertaking is needed, but we must all request our State Legislatures to formally announce their exit from the Union... by peaceful and lawful, negotiated means, if possible, and by their soverign will if not.

    • Dale, there's no mention in the constitution about secession, no mention does not mention it cannot be done.  Like the 10th amendment does not prohibit anything beyond its enumerated scope... Lincoln was wrong, he turned secession into a violent prescedent.

    • Oleg.

You are wrong, sir.  Not Lincoln.  You are. Thanks anyway.

    • So when the Union experiences benefit, the separate state actors line up with outstretched hand to receive.

But when adversity hits the Union, the separate benefited states do not act like sunshine soldiers, and not find other arrangements?

You actually buy that kind of intended commitment scheme? Really?

We tried that kind of loose arrangement in a Confederation. It did not work. Now we have a Union.

Unions, like contractual obligations, are intended for expected greater commitment. Cessation from the Union has in its effect,  greater severity than breach of contract.

The actual devil with our Federal Government, is its ability to grow intrusively unchecked, fed by the individual income tax authority gained through Amendment (old ground on this forum).

Pretender-elect Joke Biden proposes ratcheting up the federal national debt 1.3 Trillions USD, to address the Nations imposed financial misery like a drug pusher. No need to be fiscally responsible; it is all funny money! See what I mean?

    • Dale...

Good Governments do not dictate the terms of their service to those governed... Government is to be the servant of the People and when it forgets that precept and becomes tyrannical in its administration the People have a right... nay, a duty to terminate such a government and to establish a new government suitable to their needs and desires.  Lincoln was correct... governments don't terminate themselves.  However, Citizens do have the right to organize and support governments that work to guarantee their safety and happiness... those governments that don't, end up being cast off.

Secession is the product of government gone amuck...  the final act of a People who are no longer willing to be oppressed by their government. Secession is the act of a People BETRAYED by their government servants. America has been Betrayed by her servants.

The Civil War was an unjust secession... It was not driven by a corrupt government, it was the 'Betrayal of the Government' by a greedy and oppressive Southern Aristocracy, who viewed government as a personal tool to promote their wealth and power over its own citizens and slaves.  The Civil War was the manifestation of a corrupt citizenry, the opposite of our current dilemma.

The Civil War was the betrayal of the government and an ill-informed citizenry... by a corrupt Southern Plutocracy.  Lincoln was correct in determining that the People of the South, in general, were not in rebellion of the Federal Government ... they were defending an indefensible and dying economic and cultural system based on immoral values... slavery.  Hence, Lincoln felt compelled to defend the Constitutional Government and to resist the evil fronting as the Confederacy ... from the underlying Truth embodied in the Union.  That is not our problem today.

  • Not a fan of seceding. But if all else fails. We need a new government based on religion freedom of speech, and right to assemble. A nation divided cannot stand.

    • No one should be a fan of seceding... it is not the termination of the Union which is the driving force behind secession; it is the right of a people to government by CONSENT... not oppression.

The People are not leaving the Constitution... in seceding they are leaving the betrayal of government to the Constitution.  In fact, any new State formed out of secession would be well advised to take our present Constitution and the precepts for the government found in the Declaration of Independence with them, as the founding principles for any new government formed.

Once more, the People are not leaving the Union and its Constitution by seceding ... they are affirming their fundamental right to be governed by consent, not by an oppressive and tyrannical government.  The People are asserting their God-given right to chose the form of government they decide best provides for their security and happiness.

  • I totally agree!

  • Seems to me it should be the liberals to seced.  It's our country.

But yes, we will not live under socialism or communism.

It seems to me, Mary Kay Hale, that your view is most reasonable.

    • I think you're right, given that this country is so terribly split... actually I think both sides should be willing and wanting to split up
