Fox News’ Sean Hannity said that the U.S. Senate needs “new leadership” and called on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to step down from his position as leader of the Republicans in the Senate.

Hannity directed the opening monologue of “Hannity” at McConnell and criticized him for his inconsistency in supporting President Donald Trump, as well as trying to reassert establishment control over the Republican Party.

“Senator McConnell would have more credibility with, now, his new eagerness to re-establish the Republican moderates and establishment wing of the party and repudiate President Trump, if he were consistent,” Hannity said, “but ultimately, this is why Americans voted for Donald Trump and not 17 other establishment Republicans.”

McConnell used his floor speech at the Tuesday reconvening of the Senate to criticize Trump over the Jan. 6 riot that resulted in a pro-Trump mob storming the Capitol. There is reportedly a “50-50 chance” that McConnell will vote to convict Trump in an impeachment trial.

  • The 50 Senators should vote for the removal of
McConnell and elected someone who will save the party and the 75t millions votes or We the People will nominate Trump for President under the Patriot Party and as Lincoln was the first president to save the nation Trump will be the first president to save the people.

    • Lorenzo-- "Removal" from either House of Congress would require concurrence by a 2/3rds majority. In the case of the Senate, that's 67-votes. Even if all 49-Republicans vote to "remove," they'd need 18-more votes from Democrats, and that seems unlikely.  McConnell may be anathema to most Dems for fast-tracking Trump's SCOTUS nominations, but why would they join Republicans to remove a traitor among GOP ranks now bent on cooperating with their own party?  Like a prisoner of war, Chuck Schumer knows that Mitch is now a political asset. Think of it as delaying the execution.

    • Lorenzo, McConnell's own county, where he lives and from where he draws his major support, cannot recall him.  There no mechanism to do that.  All they can do censure him.  They view him as a traitor.  Trump's reply to the establishment of the Patriot Party is that he did not start the party and he will not use the party.  Now, try and get the GOP senators to unite for any worthy reason.  HA!

    • Right on, Lorenzo. That's why we the people are fiercly loyal to Trump come what may. He is indeed the man of the hour who will save the people.

  • Along with all the other RHINOS who went against President Trump when they flat out knew it was lies

    • yes, they knew it was lies but they are TRAITORS, doing what sosos pays them to do, sell us out to the satanic new world order!!!!!

  • Yes-- Hannity is right about Mitch, but what took him so long to speak out?  Almost a decade ago, McConnell rebuked the rise of the Tea Party, pledging to "crush Conservatives." Fast forward to 2017. Months after Trump's innauguration, Hannity started getting chummy with McConnell protoge Lindsey "Trump's on his own now" Graham.  My question for Sean: "Who's side are you on?"

    • Sean is on Sean's side.

    • I agree. Snuggling up to the GOP's Benedict Arnold flank may be Sean's way of feathering his nest with Fox Brass.

    • yes, indeed.  I quit watching hannity and listrening to his radio program a long time ago because he was constantly cuddling up to leftists.
