Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah said on “Fox News Sunday” that new faces of the Republican Party have the potential to flourish now that former President Trump is out of office.
He named Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, and Sen. Ben Sasse of Nebraska as potential spokespeople.
“So there will be some new faces,” Mr. Romney said. “President Trump, of course, will continue to have influence, but I think our party is going to return to some of our more fundamental principles, which is fiscal responsibility, believing in the importance of character, standing with our allies and pushing back against people like Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin.”
On CNN, Mr. Romney also named former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas as potential leaders.
Mr. Romney said on Fox that Republicans need to do a better job communicating more effectively to working men and women in the country that their policies are best designed to help them and their families.
“That’s something I think we’ve missed, something I missed in my campaign,” said Mr. Romney, the 2012 GOP presidential nominee. “I think that’s something that’s going to help define us going forward.”
Mr. Romney is currently on the outs with much of the GOP’s conservative base.

Someone explain to me why we should abandon the GOP instead of THROWING OUT THE RINO's... what makes a political party... numbers or position? Where is the real power of a Political Party found? Is it in its leadership or the heart of its core... its people? May I suggest that the real power is the people and that it is time to surface their ire for the current leadership... by protesting at every local, state, and national meeting of the party and its leaders. It is time to march on the RNC, too cut it off from the core removing its officers by the exercise of its Bylaws... stripping the Chairman and party organization of its corrupt and self-serving leadership.
It would be a good time to suggest that Pres. Trump fund meetings in every county across the nation to educate the core of the GOP on how to dump its broken leadership... too, replace it with grass-roots Republicans that know how to fight and keep their core values intact. Time for Pres. Trump's "Office of the Former President" too reach out to the party base in a very big and CONSTRUCTIVE way to retake its leadership its NAME, and its offices and charters across the Nation.. to turn out the Romney's and McConnel's .. thee Comey's and Sessions, too separate the Barr's from the true law and order, physically responsible, MORALLY SOUND, Judeo/Christian in the party.
It is time to acknowledge and promote DUTY, HONOR, Country, and the principals that Made America Great... in the Party of America... the TRUE REPUBLICAN PARTY. We don't need to be evicted from our own houses, we don't need to vacate our party ... the RATS DO.. they need to be swept out and told not to return. We need to rebuild the leadership of the GOP...Grand Old Party ... to restore its greatness... that it may be Grand again.
Let everyone who wants our Party Back message Pres. Trump... and encourage him to fund local meetings in every county in America... too, challenge the current GOP leadership... too, remove them from the reigns of the Party. Make America Great Again by removing the garbage from our party ... Make America Great Again by restoring Duty, Honor, and Country in the party of Lincoln. Message President Trump with a call to GREATNESS... too, retore our Party.
Name of both parties has been soiled and defamed, I'd propose cleaning the Republican party as you advise and renaming it, to one of the following: American Democrat party (abbreviated AD as in vs BC : ) or Democratic-Republican party (revival of Jefferson and to reflect the larger tent created by Trump).
A name is a name and really doesn't mean anything without loyalty to that name. Any name which includes democrat suggests the wrong idea. There is really nothing which associates our Republican Party with the Democrat Party . Yes, I know "now days", we are suppose to accept the term "Democratic Republic" but far too much emphasis has been placed on the "democratic" part of the title. I cite Article IV section 4 of the Constitution which states; "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence. Strange!, I don't see the term Democratic anywhere in Article IV section 4. But I do see a requirement for protection against DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

Why not actually call a reformed Republican party (which is actually named the Grand Old Party), the "Republican" party?
But instead of an elephant symbol, use sn eagle head, liberty bell, or a Constitution symbol.
I like the idea of changing its symbol... not its name... because of the legal problems in obtaining State sanctions as a recognized party... it isn't that easy and if we form a new party ... a NEW NAME would be a new party... it would complicate and maybe even delay getting on every State Ballot in time for the 2022 election cycle. There are many hurdles to jump if we start a new party... many.
And Ron you can bet that the demogoons will take ever advantage of the delay that you mentioned above,and use it to their advantage.
No, but new county, state, and national leadership... can create new bylaws which can be used to throw out the bums... all the RINO's can be barred from using the Republican Party to access the ballot.
