8183480285?profile=RESIZE_400xDemocratic Senate candidate Raphael Warnock said in a 2011 sermon that Americans cannot serve God while also serving in the U.S. military.

The newly unearthed comments threaten to complicate Warnock's candidacy in a tight Georgia Senate race: Georgia is home to the fifth largest active duty military population in the country, according to a 2018 Department of Defense report.

"America, nobody can serve God and the military," Warnock said in the sermon delivered at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, where he serves as senior pastor. "You can't serve God and money. You cannot serve God and mammon at the same time."

"America choose ye this day who you will serve. Choose ye this day!" he added.

Video of the remarks surfaced as Warnock is facing criticism for other controversial statements, including his claim that "America needs to repent for its worship of whiteness." He has also come under scrutiny for his support for his religious mentor James Hal Cone, who said that white Christians practice the "theology of the Antichrist" and described white people as "satanic."

Warnock's campaign did not respond to request for comment.

Military veterans took exception to Warnock's remarks. Former U.S. Army National Guard chief chaplain Kenneth E. Brandt, who retired in April after 30 years of service, said he disagrees with the notion that Americans cannot serve both God and the military.

  • This cutless utter idiot never spent a day in the military defending his right to say this crap....where to the Demorats fins these people???

  • Warnock is doing the devils work...

  • This false preacher (WARNOCK) will burn in the lowest hell, if he does NOT repent soon!!!

  • if white people are satanic then 2 questions to ask are : did the same god who made white people make all people AND did jesus not die for the sins of white people ?

  • This brother in Christ Jesus needs some counseling on this subject. God tells us to serve according to the laws of the land we find ourselves in. If we are to serve by the laws then we must serve and do it as unto the Lord.

    • IF that were true, then Moses should have died, Peter should have stayed in jail and the infant Jesus himself should have been turned over to the governing authorities. Soloman would never have been made King.  And Daniel would never have thrown open his window to praise his God—He would have hunkered down like the world has in CoVid land.  The Lion of Judah does not tell us to bow down to satan. Just the opposite. He tells us to bind and loose and use His words to pray into a situation and that hastens to perform His word.

      He makes a way out. Even now.

    •

      11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

      12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

      13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

      14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

      15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

      16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

      17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

      18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

  • STAND UP NOW!!! Or fovever Kneel to IDIOTS, like this FAKE preacher and the democrats, Possibly until Judgment Day!!!

  • Raphael Warnock's point of view is amazingly unbiblical, shallow and ethnocentric.  It often seems that those who shout God the loudest, are the most ignorant of biblical teachings and hence the least likely to truly know the Lord, at all.  Like a small child that falsely claims "Mommy said," or "Daddy said,"  when mommy and daddy said no such thing.  The man clearly is incapable of honoring the US Constitution and representing all citizens; much less represent the Lord Jesus.  I do recall a black friend of mine stating that in the black community there are those who use the pulpit to gain upward social mobility.  I'm guessing Raphael Warnock fits into that catagory.

    Many of our nation's founders believed in God, and even served in the military; George Washinton is one of several that comes to mind.  And, what would Raphael Warnock have to say about king David?  King David was a mighty warrior who fought for the honor of God and the survival of God's people.  Scripture tells us that the women of the villages would sing "Saul has killed his thousands but David, his tens of thousands."  And, Scripture tells us that David was a "Man after God's own heart."  God will judge the motives of all men's hearts, to be a soldier with the right motives is an honorable undertaking.  We need to thank God for our military and pray for them regularly.

    This man needs to speak less and study more, along with some humble prayer and fasting.  He might feel on top of his game for now but it is just that...his game.  One day we will all have to give an account to the Almighty.  Scripture tells us we will be held accountable for every idle word we speak, and that leaders will be held to a higher standard than the followers.  His shallow, self-serving rhetoric, clearly targets those he hopes he can manipulate.  One great day he will wish he had put Christ first, instead of himself.

  • What a stupid idiot you can't serve God and yet kill the unborn child that is what you and your Democrats leaders are doing but you all will be in hell with your good buddy fhe devil forever.
