  • Everyone! Please refer to "Political Parties" in George Washington's Farewell Address.

    • back than there was no Political Parties

  • The President should either require Congress to RECESS or too keep a Quorum present to satisfy the Constitutional requirement to condut business in Congress... The President has the power to order their return... and to declare their 'proforma sessions' as unconstitutional as they don't have sufficient members present to do business or any kind. 't have a quorum which should be required to stay in open session. They are doing this in order to keep Pres. Trump from firing AG Barr and the upper echelons of the DOJ and FBI... during the recess... where he can immediately make recess appointments without the Senate's confirmation...

Pres. Trump needs to fire all those in his Administration who are working against him and the Constitution... and they make immediate recess appointments. He needs to declare Congress as recessed based on there not being a quorum in DC to conduct business.

See:  The Constitution requires both houses to establish a quorum — defined as a majority of members — to conduct business. Any lawmaker can issue a quorum call in her chamber, and if a majority is not present, then the chamber cannot enact any legislation until that threshold is again met. Congress can't meet remotely during a coronavirus ... IT is a Constitutional requirement that they have a quorum present on the floor of each House to conduct business.  If not they must RECESS... and that gives the President the opportunity to make recess appointments without Congressional consent to his appointments.  FIRE ALL THE HOLDOVERS, US ATTORNEYS, DOJ ATTORNEYS, FBI upper echelons and then quickly... in the same day appoint new Trump supporters to their positions and then go after the swamp with a vengence.

    • if he did not fire all of the Obama administration of which he should have done it the first 100 days in the office what makes him going to do what you said he needs to do.

    • YOu obviously don't understand how political appointments are made... Congress must act to confirm or deny the President's appointments.  If Congress is on recess the Constitution allows the President to appoint individuals WITHOUT CONGRESS... the US SENATES confirmation process... such appointments remain valid until the next session of Congress... which would be in 2021...

The President did not fire all the Obama Holdovers as he knew that many... nearly all of his appointments were challenged and most refused... why?  Because both parties did not want his appointees messing with the status quo for government... he knew that firing them all would shut down or drastically limit the government to perform many of its needed functions.  SO, the President allowed many of Obama's holdovers to remain...  Big mistake, but something a new president without a lot of political experience might do.

By forcing Congress to either produce a quorum or to recess the president may be able to finally fire all the remaining holdovers and replace them with loyal Trump supporters... bypassing the need to have them confirmed by a contrary US Senate.

  • Unfortunately, those scoundrels must be paid -- it's in the Constitution.

DC is a septic swamp...I know, I used to work there. Frankly, I'm glad the Legislative Branch is shut down for a while...when they're home they can't hurt us as much.

This whole COVID19 thing is insane...shutting down the only economy on the planet that actually benefits nearly everyone & putting us into 'house arrest' benefits no one except the Left end of the political class & a few mega money people.

    Stay home stinkers!!

    Leave us alone, stinkers!!

    • whi is going to let them pay?

  • All I can say is We the people need to wake up and in November vote the Democrat put of office.

  • The House physician said that it wasn't SAFE for the members to congratulate!  I urge that both Houses simply allow télé voting, so that the members won't have to risk exposing themselves in order to do their jobs!  BTW, I have read that Trump likes ice cream also!

  • Perhaps we, the People, should vote to reconfigure their pay schedules. I would suggest that each Congressman, House or Senate, receive the "Average Income of Those Who Elected Them to Office. The same with their Medical, Sick, and Vacation Benefits. No Retirement Benefits. Perhaps then the "Arts of Compromise" would be practiced.
