President Trump has hinted at the use of the Insurrection Act for a while. Now, in the wake of the murder of one of his supporters in Portland, it’s time to use it.

The Act, originally signed into law by President Thomas Jefferson in 1807, provides President Trump with the ability to tackle the clear attempts at insurrection taking place in the United States today. In fact 12 U.S. Presidents have used it, from Jefferson himself to John F. Kennedy to George H.W. Bush during the Los Angeles riots.

If Trump dithers or delays further, the Biden campaign’s latest attempt to portray the violence as Trump’s fault may start to take hold.

“TRUMP RIOTS”

Clearly President Trump’s solid base won’t reject him on November 3rd, but there are people – especially female voters (mothers) – who are concerned this violence will spread to their suburbs and that the President needs to act before it does.

MSNBC’s Donny Deutsch laid out the Democrats’ “branding” exercise in trying to bring violence to ordinary people and then blaming Trump for not doing anything about it.

AntiFa and Black Lives Matter have already begun running through residential neighborhoods in cities like Washington, D.C., screaming “if we don’t get no justice, you don’t get no sleep.”

How long can it be before they’re knocking on doors, breaking through windows, smashing cars and other private property?

  • I agree and the president should have an elipcopter with a net take them to a place where they can fully excercise their right without no retriction.

  • A fair number of people have already been killed since this garbage began. I believe that the extra stress of the Covid exaggerations , outright lies, and needless restrictions also played a part in the violence. The Democrats have been pulling out all the stops since November 2016, and it's time for the REST of us to put a quick and permanent END to ALL of it.  Yes, Trump should employ the Insurrection Act, but he must also pressure Congress to hold every one of the complicit Mayors and Governors responsible for the damage and deaths. America MUST STOP allowing Snowflake Liberals to turn our Justice System into a coddling pre-school for criminals, and start enforcing our laws regarding rioting, damaging and destroying our monuments and municipal buildings, and Looting . Looters are to be SHOT, PERIOD. NO excuses. Those who attack Police Officers without provocation, should be SHOT, Period! Politicians who fail to honor their Oath of Office and/or violate the Constitutional Rights of the People, are to be removed, PERIOD. This should include Law Enforcement. Trump must adopt a ZERO TOLERANCE method of dealing with dangerous criminals, whether they be civilians or officials and regardless of Party, Race, Religion, or Gender of Choice. Equality matters.  End the violence NOW with as many arrests as possible and the harshest punishments that can be given. Handle this correctly, and the next time the Left wants to hire rioters, it will be a lot harder to find anyone willing.

    • Exactly, the President is the Chief Law Enforcement officer... the Constitution REQUIRES ... it doesn't simply suggest, it requires... the President to TAKE CARE that the laws be faithfully executed.  That is not happening, and the President is getting bad... no, he is getting twisted advice.... from deep state operatives in the legal profession.  It is these deep state operatives who brought America to where it is today; their enigmatic advice is overtly displayed in their unwillingness to enforce the laws of the United States faithfully.

The President is finding serious resistance to his direct intervention to ensure that the law of the United States is faithfully executed. His staff appears opposed to using limited martial law as a method to restore law and order where insurrection, domestic terrorism, and general lawlessness exists. It is also obvious that the President is finding it difficult to remove those resisting his efforts to take care the laws are faithfully executed...

The President must not let the bad advice of career politicians and lawyers poison the well... He needs to clean out the naysayers in the DOD and the National Security Council and appoint those who can find a way where others refuse...

The President has the Constitutional, statutory, and historic precedent to impose Martial Law as HE deems necessary, to faithfully execute the laws of the United States.  Abraham Lincoln arrested Judges that did not understand that very, very, important power, granted by the Constitution and Congressional statutory law to the President to save the Nation from insurrection and chaos... from the total break down of law and order.

    • That's what I have been saying for a while. Trump needs to assume total authority over the country including the judiciary. There is no other way if he really wants to drain the swamp and if he really wants to preserve our freedom and liberties.

  • One thing is for sure, Trump told us that he stands between us and riots & chaos. He is an amazing and decisive leader who pacifies the country like no other president has done in the history of the USA. Americans don't want to go back to the demonrat and obummer years, when riots and chaos ruled American llife. We all know that the peace we enjoy under Trump will become a thing of the past if Biden gets in. https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/laura-ingraham-us-look-like-portlan...

Laura Ingraham warns 'the whole country is going to look like Portland' under President Biden
Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden finally condemned the violence gripping American cities after weeks of silence on the issue, but the ques…
    • Tell that to the burned-out business owners or to the hundreds assaulted and to the dead... I am sure they will agree that our government is standing between them and chaos... Yeah, you bet.  over 120 days of massive revolt in the streets of America... monuments that stood for hundreds of years tore down, statutes commemorating our history (good and bad) toppled from their foundations... long-held Icons of liberty defamed and slandered... and it continues... Why?

There are more than enough laws to stop this sort of criminal behavior dead in its tracks... but those laws must be FAITHFULLY EXECUTED... something that is not happening.  Leadership at the State and City level in several states has stood down while their citizens suffered insurrection, arson, looting, riot and destruction of private and public property... the laws were not enforced and the civil rights of many were violated by the government's failure to protect them.

    • I didn't say that our government stands between us and the riots and the chaos. Trump does. He said it himself. That's enough for me, and it's definitely enough reason to vote for Trump. - Are you now suggesting that under Trump's leadership and presidency things have fallen apart instead? I know you are very critical of Trump and you enjoy pointing out his shortcomings and even contradicting his word, when the rest of us knows that he is honest and straight talking.

    • Actions speak louder than words... how many key indictments of political power over the current riots, arson, murder, and looting have occurred?  Save your time... NONE not one major political figure who has violated the law by withholding the civil rights of their constituents or as co-conspirators in the insurrection by ordering police to stand down and allowing the lawlessness to go effectively unchallenged by civil law enforcement.

    • Would you stop pinning this on Trump, please? We know that he probably can't do much until he controls the judiciary and has judges on the bench who are totally loyal to him. Corrupt judges loyal to the deep state won't allow him to indict, convict and send away these criminals. He knows that, and so should we.

    • that is the fact.
