Sen. Joe Manchin - Imgflip

Sen. Joe Manchin threatened to block President Biden’s climate change and infrastructure package unless Republicans have more of a voice in the negotiation process than they did with the coronavirus stimulus bill.

Manchin, a moderate Democrat from West Virginia who has emerged as a critical swing vote in the narrowly divided Senate, said he would use his position as chairman of the Senate Energy Committee to hold up the legislation unless the GOP has input.

“I’m not going to do it through reconciliation,” he told “Axios on HBO” in an interview that aired Sunday. “I am not going to get on a bill that cuts them out completely before we start trying.”

    • I disagree Joe Manchin is a democrat and supports the democrat party in nearly every instance. Since his state has more of less become conservative where it used to be liberal (if in fact democrats are liberal any more) Joe has had to modify his stances on issues he used to support. However make no mistake he is a democrat and supports the democrats positions every chance he gets. Take a long look at his record.

One thing is for certain if conservatives put a lot of trust in Joe Manchin they are going to be very disappointed at some future time! Same goes for the citizens of West Virginia.

    • Well, Edie... I was thinking the same thing.

However, a better question would be:  Why hasn't McConnell asked him to change parties?  That would give the GOP control of the Senate again.  Could it be that the GOP doesn't want to be in control of the US SENATE... as our political leader's transition from a Constitutional Republic into a Marxist State?

Are the Republicans positioning themselves to APPEAR as the opposition to Marxism? Do they merely want to appear they can not stop the new world order?  Could it be there are no fundamental differences between Marxists in either political party, that a Marxist is the same dressed up as... a Democrat or Republican?

I am beginning to believe that the RNC/GOP are nothing more than an annex of the Marxist cabal, operating as Democrats... That many in the GOP are closet Socialist/Marxist... or pragmatist, who are willing to change colors to match their surroundings... political Camillians.

    • OH Col., you know why McConnell hasen't asked him to join the Republican Party, the rino's want to merge with the demoncraps marxist party!

    • They are already there. All dog and pony show, entertaining and rocking the republucans asleep, who feel so safely cared for while they nap, get up and watch netflix. Only to find the rug has been pulled outfrom under them, the language changed.---(just lookie and see...

...how easily the R's and the church accepted the language change from 'sex' to 'gender,'... ahh, the serpent stuck again...and no one knew where he had been, but he had had crawled and slithered into the mouths of men.

Last time I looked, my Birth Certificate said  F for Female. Last time I read, the scientist  said X or Y. for sex. Last time I read Title IX, it said Male or Female.

But! LOOK!!  It has all changed! The soup is rotten, the vegetables foul, the spices contaminated, and yet, both parties eat from the same evil cauldron. They invited the church, and the church sat down with them to eat. But the snake rose up, and said, ahhh, now we meet!

The lie of "gender" is the name of the play. Gender slithers into the minds of men, lowering the standards, confusing the children, enabling the strange math where one only seems to equal other in this one-act play.

    • Right is wrong and wrong is right. We're surely in the end days now. Things only get worse from here. I think I might just enjoy the last few good days we have on earth and slip into a "Willful ignorant Bliss" ....................Until it isn't!!!

  • This ought to fly well with the DNC... Sen. Manchin may need to find a new day job... and it is not likely to be Chairman of anything... I doubt  Sen.Schumer is impressed with his bipartisan inclusiveness... Perhaps, Manchin is looking to use his vote to leverage a place for COAL in our economy with his newfound Republican leanings?  We shall soon know if this is a real threat or just more political theater?

  • I guess about 10% of Dems are better than about 90% of Repubs
