The police chief serves at the pleasure of the mayor (the governor, has nothing to do with it). That doesn't mean the police chief has to bend over or kiss ass, he can always hand in his resignation. They are not beholden, they have the power of argument....or resignation!
Many governors including Republican Governors are not doing their jobs... holding them accountable starts by exposing them on sites like this one. Doing nothing to inform the people of traitors is not acceptable. We must inform the people of the betrayal and demand accountability.
What the governor should do is get the state to go around and pick up all of those bricks, and build houses for the homeless.There got to be a law that makes it legal for him to do that too.
The response to the piles of bricks should be piles of body bags... in conspicuous places with signs that read... riot and this can be your next domicile. Time to get tough. Also, the local and state police need to interdict any planned riots.... identity, locate, isolate and prosecute those conspiring to engage in domestic terrorism, riot, and assault. Don't wait for them to mobilize... interdict their plans... disrupt their staging of riot material... remove them don't leave them, impound them.
P/S Most states have laws regarding the use of AND POSSESSION OF bricks, bats, clubs, sticks, rocks, knives and other improvised weapons. For example, carrying a bat at midnight in a situation where a curfew is in effect and a general state of emergency exists is probably a felony... illegal possession of a bat as a weapon.
