    • The debate over political candidates should not be limited by fear or bias on either side of an argument... Electing a President should not be determined by personality or one's stated intent (rhetoric). One's actual performance, based on visible achievements, must be the measure of a politician's success and the qualification for gaining our vote.

The election of a President is not always a matter of a clear either or choice (this candidate or that candidate)... It is often a matter of choosing between two flawed candidates.  However, voting for the lesser of evils is not a choice.  It is often the coerced support for a candidate the electorate would otherwise reject if the electoral system were truly fair and open.

There are many things I like about Trump but that doesn't necessarily make him the candidate we need for President... out of the field of those willing to run for President there are few who measure up to him.  Does that mean I should become a sycophant of Pres. Trump, or can I still support him while attempting to influence his policy?  I remain concerned over Pres. Trump's lack of personnel management skills and his true commitment to DRAIN THE SWAMP.  Our core problems are not the economy, or big government they are LEADERSHIP ISSUES if corrected would lead to a restoration of our Republic, its government institutions, culture, and economy, would follow.  We have a major leadership problem.

    • Trump's real talent was building relationships and treaties but he showed his lack of grasping the issue of sovereignty by signing the USMCA, which was just a replacement for the globalist NAU.

He was powerful in his support of Israel. No one ventured against Israel under his watch. And he stood head and shoulders above other Presidents in his open support for the Church in America. No other President has ever had a Presidential Prayer Team laying hands on him. Other Presidents sought the guidance and prayers of Billy Graham but Trump went farther.

He was a powerful ally of both Israel and never have we had a President who stood in front of the President's Church where all President's have purchased a pew, with an Historic Bible in his hand. (The Hebrides Revival Bible owned by his aunt or great-aunt). That was a monumental moment.

But as far as digging out criminals, he was over his head. Challenging the courts was not in his blood either. That is going to take a special kind of grit the teeth and hang-on bulldog attitude. People like DeSantis have showed that type of grit. Not saying he should be President. We need him right where he is, in my opinion.

    • We also don't know what sort of advise he was given. Like Meadows said, they wanted to get rid of Fouchi but were highly advised against it. They wanted to push hydroxychloroquin and ivermectin and again, were advised against it. I'm sure the push and convincing was fantastic, and he isn't a doctor, not a scientist, he followed the professionals who misled him. Doctors can be very intimidating, dismissing, and arrogantly pushy.

I agree we need DeSantis  where he is, that in fact was one of Trumps lasting very good decisions, look what it did for florida. So was moving the Israeli capital to Jerusalem, what a huge plus that is for Israel. So was Space Force! Don't forget, how he handled things bulldozed through difficulties showed others that they don't have to bend over backward and kiss anybody's behind. We don't have to allow the world to use and abuse us. That attitude was important for those who follow, they saw how the world listened and bent to him.

    • Just to set the record straight the US recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in 1999...  The Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 is a public law of the United States passed by the post-Republican Revolution 104th Congress on October 23, 1995. The law was adopted by the Senate (93–5), and the House (374–37). The Act became law without a presidential signature on November 8, 1995. The Act recognized Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel and called for Jerusalem to remain an undivided city.  President Trump simply acted on the existing law and moved our Embassy to Jerusalem.

Accepting and acting on bad advice is not a recommendation for leadership... it is bad enough to act on bad advice once.  However, too routinely embrace bad advice is the mark of weak leadership.  THE PROVERBIAL PBUCK must stop with the President. He is the one who makes the decision and once made the decision belongs to him, not his advisors.

This week we marked the 46th anniversary of the unification of Jerusalem. Israel designated Jerusalem as its capital in 1950, yet most countries maintain their embassies in Tel Aviv due to ongoing political debate with the Palestinians. This has given rise to an unprecedented situation whereby a sovereign state – Israel – is denied the diplomatic right to choose the location of its capital city.

The U.S. Congress sought to reverse this travesty with the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995, passed by overwhelming bipartisan majority in both the

House and Senate. The act states that “Jerusalem should be recognized as the capital of the State of Israel and the United States Embassy in Israel should be established in Jerusalem no later than May 31, 1999.”

Since then, a parade of U.S. presidents have promised to uphold this pledge. But since the congressional act allows the President to implement a waiver at six-month intervals, that’s exactly what has happened every six months since 1995.

This has created a situation whereby politicians, the media, and the world at large routinely ignore the fact that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Recently the Washington Post printed this ditty:
Obama’s more aggressive message reflects the increasing concern in Washington, Tel Aviv and other capitals about Iran’s enrichment program, which Israel believes will be used to produce a nuclear weapon.

Similarly, the Wall Street Journal has referred to Israel’s capital as Tel Aviv, noting the “strains between Washington and Tel Aviv” (“U.S., Israel Spar in Public, But Defense Ties are Strong,” May 4, 2010), while CNN referred to “an explosion in the Israeli capital of Tel Aviv” (“Blast in Israeli Capital,” January 22, 2006).

SIGN THE DECLARATION TO KEEP JERUSALEM UNITED

I’m not sure what can be done about all this, but one young man has taken the fight to court, and just last month the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that American citizens born in Jerusalem can list their birthplace as “Israel.”

Even former US Republican candidate Ron Paul, long known as a critic of Israel, made this statement:

“If Israel wants their capital to be Jerusalem, then the United States should honor that. How would we like it if some other nation said, ‘We decided to recognize New York City as your capital instead, so we will build our embassy there’?”

In the meantime, with or without “international approval,” the city that King David designated as the capital of Israel and the Jewish people is 45 years unified, 3,000-plus years Jewish, and still going strong.

    • You are right on the money about all of those things. He really stood against the entire world and they backed off and showed deference. Personally,  I think he must have had a hang of bad advisors.

Everyone here in TPCC at that time knew Preibus was a complete RINO and yet he got the job and acted as the filter for whomever else was allowed in. Big mistake, followed by Sessions, another huge mistake.

    • WHAT?  what record... Trump's entire legacy has been revoked in less than a year... he has no lasting record.  Why?  Because he did not deal with the internal betrayal needed to pass legislation that was more or less permanent.  His Executive Orders vanished and were replaced by Biden's burn-down America agenda in less than a year.

What are you smoking... please list the REMAINING major accomplishments of Trump's legacy... and tell us how long they're likely to be around if the RED WAVE in November fails to take place?  I have no miracle candidate and frankly Trump is no miracle candidate as his prior performance continues to fade rapidly in the review mirror of reality.

So, Trump's legacy is keeping the Commies at bay... Putin evidently didn't get the message nor did Xi JInping of China, or Kim Jong Il, N. Korea... among other lesser communist minions in Central and South America.

Keeping inflation down... what?  His legacy on that issue is long dead.  I don't consider temporary success as a permanent marker for real accomplishments. By the way, inflation is the only thing pumping up the Markets... as the dollar deflates in value stocks accrue dollar gains... until the dollar completely collapses... and then so will the markets.  Trump's market records were in large part due to the underlying dollar and its deflationary pressures. The more the dollar lost in exchange value the greater the exchange rate for stocks sold in dollars.

Border security you have to be kidding... he finished less than 1/3rd of his wall and he never... never stopped illegal immigration.. slowed it down but never stopped it.

His support for the military was excellent.... however not lasting. and we are now right back where we were with Obama. That is not the mark of permanent or even semi-permanent improvement.  Trump left many of the FLAG OFFICERS Obama promoted in place... That is not the mark of success.

We may have had the largest number of working Americans in history but we also had the largest numbers on the government's payroll under Trump's admin...

Oct 07, 2020 · Nancy Marshall-Genzer Oct 7, 2020. Their ranks have increased by about 25% during the Trump administration, to almost 11 million people

COVID has since destroyed any gains under Trump...

Trump administration increasing number of government workers, report finds
That's in spite of promises to drastically reduce the number of people working for the government.
    • Please try to be kinder to Trump and to Marlene...I'm sure she was t smoking anything. There are many great long term achievements.  Space Force, the Supreme Court Justices, all the hundreds of conservative judges, Jerusalem is finally Israel's capital, DeSantis is governor of Florida because Trump asked him to run and helped him get there, look at the Free State of Florida now! You think DeSantis didn't learn from how Trump made things happen, didn't back down, wasn't afraid?
