The situation in Loudoun County, VA, has become a point of national interest over the last year as it has come to represent ground zero for the fight against Critical Race Theory and transgender ideology in schools. Parents have stood up at school board meetings and pushed back on policies allowing boys in girls’ bathrooms, books that promote pedophilia, and other perverse directives.

Back in June, one such meeting exploded with multiple arrests after the cowardly school board declared an unlawful assembly. Police officers with no care for the rights of parents grabbed and threw one man to the ground who refused to leave. In what became a viral moment, the man was dragged out with his pants around his ankles.

Smith was given a no-trespassing order prior to the meeting that forbids him from telling his story. This was all part of an elaborative cover-up by the school district to not publicize the rape of his daughter. In fact, when Smith showed up at the school to complain about what had happened, they essentially accused him of lying and called the police, not on the transgender rapist, but on Smith himself for causing a scene. Luckily, he was able to get his daughter a rape kit that evening that confirmed the crime.

  • Understandable Marlene, Just as understandable is that in those "Times" what was done with those children was the accepted Norm. As a People, we respond quite differently today. In those days, the child was removed, forgotten, never to be mentioned by friends, family or Church again. The Communities and Societies condoned this behavior, and guilt, shame and responsibility were never known. Fortunately for those children there existed a place for them, in those times.

  • Ron, Prior to the Obama care Socialism Act, Employers happily paid the premiums for quality Healthcare Employee Insurance. Good Benefits are part of the means for attracting and keeping Good Employees. None of us want to feed and care "Freeloaders!" Those of us whose job was to manage the operations in business, appreciate the value of investment in the employees and the need on the business part to care for their frailties and needs. It all comes down to Costs and Profits. Governments know absolutely nothing about Costs and Profits, only Imaginary Budgets and Goals. Communities are not governments, but groups if people. As Communities when people in Need arise, the Community provides, not a Government. When the Need becomes an Abuse, the Community removes the Abuser, not the Government. Our Nation can never heal as long as Citizens rely on Governments for repairs. Only as Citizen Communities are repairs possible. All any of us are owed is what we have earned, which brings the Topic back to Drug and Alcohol Treatment for Employees. They have "Proven Value" and have Earned It. For all others in a Community in Need of Treatment, "Prove your potential" to the Community prior to receiving help. Its not much to ask actually. Sweep sidewalks, shovel snow, pick up garbage don't drink or use, show up two, three times a day for "Testing and verification of worth", until Treatment Space is Available. It must be earned. It isn't a Right. Find your own food and a place to sleep while waiting. Can't handle it? You'll be escorted beyond the Community's Boundaries to try elsewhere. Mankind learns to adapt to the expressed needs of the Community. We, the United States allowed that to reverse and NIW must bring it back to its originality.

  • Marlene, The "Facilities" that I spoke of were the ones that "Parents" of "Downs Syndrome Children and those Children with extremely Low I.Q.s, and extreme deformities, from the " Time of my own Grandparents " were "Turned Over" to the State and forgotten by their "Families." It were these "Innocents" turned out into the Streets as a "More Politically Human Freedom", provided with funds, and rapidly perished! Say what you will, and defend what you will, but it was a MISTAKE, to uproot content and happy, well care for people from lives in a " Community known to them as from Both to Grave", and release them as individuals into Mainstream Society! They could not cope. What had worked, worked well for them and for them was "Their World." They loved one another and found each other "Special", with a smile. They were turned loose and found themselves " Special " by those around them turning away. Their World was robbed from them and I still carry the anger against those who claimed glory in "Saving Tax Dollars" through this route.

    • I agree Marlene... Too, many parents today look for government assistance with their children, give the government an inch with your children and you may lose them forever to a Marxist state.  Take your children out of public schools, avoid using government services they all come with strings attached.

  • In addition Ron, State Funded Abortions came a decade or two later. State Sexual Orientation and Change not until the following Century. As for Alcohol/Drug Treatment, the greater amounts of All monies for such services come from "Insurance Coverage" from Working Men and Women supplied through Employers knowledgeable in the benefits of "Treating the Disease Concept" and getting valuable trained workers back on the Job. Study it sometime so as to not appear the "Grumpy, My Way or The Highway, Fool!"

    • The programs I listed were meant as examples of the types of programs states chose to fund over mental health... they were meant to convey how politicians pander for votes, instead of funding legitimate social needs. Mental patients are often not permitted to vote. The states that chose to defund Mental Health were those rapidly EXPANDING SOCIAL WELFARE PROGRAMS. They need funding for their welfare programs. Unlike the Federal Government, States must balance their budgets. They chose to balance their budgets on the back of the mentally ill and others.

The point I attempted to make was that the States Chose to fund welfare programs that pandered to dependent voters... neglecting mental health issues, that did not translate into votes. Drug rehab programs, that help employers retain otherwise productive employees NEED TO BE PAID FOR BY EMPLOYERS if they see them as profitable. Why should the public fund Drug rehab for employers and or families with the problem... let them purchase mental health insurance for those needs, funding mental health issues or drug rehab themselves. I am sick and tired of issues like mental health and drug regab becoming my, my family, and neighbors' responsibility. Go to China or Russia or some other socialist state where cooperative medicine is practiced... not the USA.

  • Ron, If you choose to rely on selective hearing and memories, it is your issues not mine. Personally, being directly involved with the decisions of "Closures" during that era, perhaps the catalysts were more revealed to me than yourself. Continue at your pleasure to cite chapter and verse relating to responsibilities, duties, laws, assignments, down to what is defined in our Constitution. Just keep in mind the separation of Academic/Theory and Application/Practice. Example: State requires a Maximum Effluent Discharge from a City's Sewerage Treatment Facilities of Six Parts per Million. The City is required by the State to Increase the size of its Treatment Facilities. The City reasonably responds to the request with, "Why? Our Effluent Discharge is only Three Parts per Million. How can you possibly force us to expand?" The State simply answered, "By Lowering the parts Per Million, until the City exceeds the Maximum and is Forced to Expand." Think this doesn't happen? It indeed does, as I was on that City Council then. I resided in a State where those spoken of were cared for in Special Facility Hospitals, until the potential of "Matching Federal Funds" for Public Projects was threatened to be withheld until "Closed." I witnessed the perishing from the causative factor. Manipulation is manipulation and Harm remains harm whatsoever the overall intentions.

    • Politicians, especially leftists, are very adept at using coercion and devious means to get their way in the public forum. They are very gifted at shifting blame and tagging others for what they have done.  However, we don't need to add to their deception by blaming Pres. Reagan for the closing of mental hospitals and asylums... He had neither the power to defund them or the authority to close State-run institutions.

As to selective hearing you certainly have no problem ignoring facts and choosing to hear only part of the story... As Paul Harvey would always say... And now, the REST OF THE STORY.  It was  Congress that cut funding for State-run mental health programs, and it was the State that ultimately decided not to fund Mental health and its facilities closing many... not Pres. Reagan.

  • Of course Ron, There were no Federal Hospitals shut down by Regan, as they did not exist. Regan simply finagled the means to have State Facilities as described closed by refusing/tying up Federal Funds for other State operations requiring Federal Assistance. Nothing new in this type of maneuver. Regan did many, many positive things, this act was not one of them. This was part of the lowering of "Excess Government Spending" to "Lower Taxes."

    • The States operated the Mental Hospitals.. all they had to do was to continue funding them... they did not.  The States closed them choosing instead to fund such programs as abortion on demand, drug rehab, sex reorientation, public transportation, and bridges to nowhere, etc.  Sop blaming Pres Reagan... by the way Presidents do not fund anything... Congress does.
