If one is going to return to NYC it would probably help to get ddrunk in the process. COVID may have hastened the process together with BLM, but NYC is basically reaping the fruits of years of feckless Democxrat policies and is crumbling into ruin. This is not the first time NYC has been on the edge: In 1975 New York barely avoided bankruptcy and was narrowly prevented from defaulting on loans and other municipal obligations. To his enduring credit President Ford showed real moxie and refused to bail NYC out; no doubt today when the issue comes to the fore Congress will do so. That is the tragedy: we have a city on the brink doe to chronic mismanagement, it refuses federal troops in trying to quell the riotous, insurrectionist BLM, but will expect the federal government to bail it out financially. And I am cdertain that Trump will go along with any such bill, having been a lifelong New Yorker and only a barely minted conservative.
