Journalism is not CREATIVE WRITING… It has rules that limit and dictate its content to VERIFIED FACTS. Journalistic content doesn’t contain gossip, opinion, assertion, or the propaganda which dominates much of the media universe today.
Journalists and Journalism adhere to a disciplined process that limits their reports to 'verified' facts that describe events of interest to the public. Opinion or commentary media reports are not journalism. They are the product of creative writing, the ideology, and views of the writer, not necessarily fact.
Propagandists are not journalists, commentary is not journalism… The Propagandist and Commentary media are engaged in promoting a specific message or a point of view. They often CREATE their own set of biased facts and a distorted view of the truth.
