CNN host Chris Cuomo is suspended "indefinitely," CNN announced Tuesday. Evidence released Monday showed Cuomo closely assisted his brother, then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY), with creating a defense against sexual misconduct allegations last year.
A CNN spokesperson said, "These documents point to a greater level of involvement in his brother's efforts than we previously knew."
"When Chris admitted to us that he had offered advice to his brother's staff, he broke our rules and we acknowledged that publicly," the spokesperson explained. "But we also appreciated the unique position he was in and understood his need to put family first and job second."
The suspension is "pending further evaluation," and Anderson Cooper will take over the 9 p.m. spot starting Tuesday evening.
