On Sunday, Chicago’s first openly gay mayor, Lori Lightfoot, mounted a raid on a black South Side church for holding services in defiance of her coronavirus lockdown orders.
Lightfoot reportedly sent three marked squad cars and two unmarked cars full of officers to the Chicago Cornerstone Baptist Church in the South Side’s Woodlawn neighborhood. Woodlawn is just south of Hyde Park, the area in which the Obamas lived for a short time before Barack became president.
The pastor of the mostly black congregation, Courtney Lewis, reportedly shut and locked the doors and refused to allow the officers to gain entry to the building, Todd Starnes reported.
Pastor Lewis told Starnes that he felt like he was confronting “the Soviet-style KGB” as the officers pounded on his doors and demanded entry to shut the church down.
“Thankfully, our doors were locked as a normal safety precaution we take each service to protect our members from the escalating gun violence in Chicago,” Lewis said.
A sentry that is usually posted outside the sanctuary to monitor the street during service also reported seeing occupants of a dark car with tinted windows filming the incident through one opened window.
“All we are seeking is the same consideration and trust that is being tendered toward the liquor stores, abortion clinics, and Walmart,” Lewis told Starnes.

The Constitution of the United States was made possible only by defeating the British in war, which is physical force. And all the laws in America are ENFORCED. Note the word FORCE. Now, America has up to now tamed government forces better than nearly every nation in history. But those times are at an end.
Note: even Constitional laws are enforced BY GOVERNMENT FORCE. PERIOD. I'm not saying that's all bad, especially when it comes to violent criminals and quacks and fraudsters ripping people off.
However, ALL LAWS HAVE THE PROMISE AND GUARANTEE OF GOVERNMENT FORCE STANDING IN THE BACKGROUND TO ENFORCE LAWS. THAT IS NOT EVEN DEBATABLE. Even here in America.
Force is not evil... it is the individual behind the EVIL USE OF FORCE that is evil. Force is politically and morally an inert element that becomes good or evil when exercised by men. Force can be good when it is harnessed to power or lights and fuel our engines of commerce... however, it can also be evil when used by tyrants to murder millions in the name of social justice or some other insane misnomer.
Does God force people to obey him?
Did God Force Jesus to be crucified? No. Jesus asked God to remove that cup from him, as he sweat in Gesthemane.
Jesus freely chose what was the right thing to do. And He paid the price.
No, it's our free choice will choice.

I read that all the time. So mysterious and profound. Powerful.
in the same chapter verse 11 said he came into his own and his own people did not received him that is the sadest verse in the whole entire Bible.
I agree. Sad, but it's true that familiarity breeds contempt. And some chapter and verse He speaks that He did not come to bring peace, but a sword (of truth), and that families would be divided, some for Him , others not. "And a man's enemies will be those of his own household."
what force got to do with the mayor of Chicago telling the Church not to gather? this is what I call communism the government is telling the people what to do let's face it, people, we are living in the dangerous ground here in America communism and socialism are here rather we believe it or not the constitution of America is gone period.
It is the demonstration and use of force that makes the laws work... and that same force is what gives a Mayor the power to intimidate or actually engage the public to enforce her will on the public... including the Church.
Okay -- Yes the definiton of Government has Force of power assumed to be part of it. So head for the hills and live in a cave. Or submit to a government run by your fellow God fearing soul or vote in and maintain the God Hatting evil one. If your wanting to eliminate Force and not evil I guess your right. Force is evil Evil is destruction of all mankind they dont want you punished they want you and the ones like you dead or close to it in concetration camps. Now that is not what our Constitiution Means when it uses force. But for all sake focus on Force as evil. I also Force my 2 year old to learn its the same thing except I call it teaching. Wake Up America Words have meaning Good has Force and so does Evil I don't think their definition of the word is anywhere the same.
