Paul, the 173rd was the 3rd brigade of the 82nd Airborne division sent to Vietnam as a unit. The division stayed so the brigade was given a distinct designation since division colors and designation could not be used!!!!!
You are correct.. The "herd" distinguished itself in Vietnam on hill 875 and the Battles of Dak To.. No cartel could stand up to that!! Our border needs to be protected!
