Judge denies new trial for Roger StonePresident Trump's former associate and convicted felon Roger Stone was denied a new trial by Judge Amy Berman Jackson Thursday, and is expected to report to prison upon his probation officer's order within the next two weeks.

The big picture: Stone, 67, wanted a new trial based on his assertion that the jury forewoman lied on a questionnaire as the panel was selected, CNBC reports. He was sentenced to more than 3 years in prison for crimes that include obstruction of justice, lying to Congress and witness tampering.

  • Jackson also released Stone from an order not to discuss his case publicly.
  • Stone has 14 days to file an appeal against Berman's ruling.

  • The whole concept that a defendant may be ordered not to publically speak to his defense ... is unconstitutional and grounds for a new trail. That is if one can find a judge who knows the US Constitution.  The reason to deny a defendant access to publicly address his defense is that the prosecution has something to hide or the trial is being rigged... otherwise, it should not matter if the Defendant discusses his case in public.

  • We will now see just how loyal our President actually is when it comes too supporting those who willingly went the whole way to support him?  Will the President pardon Roger... let's hope so.
