    Tearing down statues around the country was never about protest or racism. It is all about erasing our nation's history to create a body of people with no unifying shared experiences other than mob and media generated angry hysteria. Witness the reporting of the evening "news" delivered in a tone and at a pace suggesting imminent disaster and near panic. It helps to remember that the talking heads on TV are not reporters, they are essentially news-readers that read whatever is placed in front of them by their bosses. How else would you get the same news, nearly word for word, across the three major networks? I think most of it comes from the AP as spoon fed by the DNC and the so called intelligentsia within the left-controlled Ivy League universities.

      They tear down statues because they would rather appear to be really doing something rather than doing something real. Part of their problem is that addressing what the Confederate statues actually represent would require an intellectually honest appraisal of the Civil War, its causes and consequences. Today's liberals are entirely incapable of that for many reasons, not least of which is their desire to protect the Democrat Party from its connection to the southern policies (slavery, Jim Crow, etc) today's liberals pretend to hate. It's far easier to destroy a symbol than to dome to grips with reality, past and present
