By Tuesday morning, 52 people had been shot in the city over the holiday weekend, as the Chicago Police Department canceled officers’ days off in anticipation of the historically violent unofficial start of summer.
About half of the shooting victims were wounded on the West Side, while the South Side saw about 14 victims. The downtown area, which has seen several high-profile attacks in May, had four shooting victims.
By Monday morning, shootings had outpaced last year’s Memorial Day weekend, when 37 people were shot, three of them fatally.

Get our guns, if they can -- not likely to succeed.
Get us out of our personal vehicles and on to public, mass transit -- they control -- or into EVs but without first building additional grid capacity to power them...another way to control us.
... and here's the kicker: once EVs are fully mandated they'll be expensive to buy and almost cost-prohibitive to charge & operate, but those who manage to keep an EV going will be villified and called 'counter-revolutionaries" to be shunned; maybe even persecuted, except of course for the Party elites...
I know this is a statement of the incredibly obvious but The Dems Don't Care About Crime and Criminality ... nor are they interested in resolving these solvable tragic problems. Why? Two reasons: 1. crime is a tool for destabilizing the existing social order and society. 2. By and large, the Dem leadership, activists and the Dem militart core ('corps' would also work in this case) really don't like anyone who isn't them and unleashing waves of violent criminals on society is one of the ways in which to demonstrate their dislike of us.
Next is a heresy to the media meme of "The Democrats love the American people." True, it is not that they love us ... true it is not that they even like us. Worse, the Dems despise the poor & primarily Black and Brown folks -- both American and invader -- and see our brothers and sisters of color as nothing more than disposable pawns in their attack plan against America.
We Conservatives weep for the blood shed daily in Dem-run areas ... we care, they don't.
