I want him to be the next AG, and I want him to prosecute Eric Holder.

Mary, age limits would have prevented Ronald Reagan from ever being president.

Yes, some of those long timers have become settled in their complacency but the solution in my opinion is not age limits but term limits. No more than two terms in office for a congressman and the same for senators. That would also cut back on the political contributions in the hope of getting a rubberstamp politician in the pocket of corporations and social radicals.

I also happen to feel strongly that any law passed in congress should also apply equally to each congressman and senator....no exceptions. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I agree that the Government should have a retirement age. Most businesses/companies do. Not that the Government is either. Many in office are into there 80's or have been in so long they have lost sight of why they are there. They no longer represent the people but have joined the "Good ole boys" club.

MY STATMENT WAS DIRECTED AT THE JUDGE THAT GOWDY WAS TALKING TO AND GOV. PEOPLE . THE JUDGE SEEMED CONFUSED AND DID NOT REMEBER WHAT HE SAID BEFORE. IF YOU HAVE WATCHED MANY OF THE PEOPLE IN WASHINGTON THEY SEEM TO BE LOST AND CONFUSED . I THOUGHT MR. GOWEDY ARGUMENT WITH THE JUDGE WAS THE SUBJECT HERE . NOT PERSONAL SITUATIONS OF ANYONE HERE . I NEVER READ ANY OF THE PERSONAL STATEMENT TILL AFTER DIANE TOOK IT PERSONAL . WHY SHE DID I DON'T KNOW ! LIKE I SAID IT WASN'T DIRECTED AT HER . I SAID { KEY PERSONS } MEANING GOV ./ JUDGES / STATE PEOPLE ECT. NOT GENERAL PUBLIC . I UNDERSTAND MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING A VERY HARD TIME AND I DO THINK WE NEED TO PULL TOGETHER TO GET OUR GOV . FIXED SO THEY CAN HAVE THING EASER OR WE CAN MAKE THING BETTER FOR THEM . THE TRUE AMERICANS ARE FIRST WITH ME . NOT ALL THE TALK IN WE HAVE BEEN GETTING FOR YEARS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD . I'M IN THE SAME BOAT AS EVERYONE HERE AND HAVE MY OWN PROBLEMS . I'M LOT OLDER THEN YOU THINK . I MAY EVEN BE OLDER THEN SEVERAL OF YOU HERE.

@Mary: I am in the same situation. We were married for as long as you and when he died I was already collecting Soc Sec on my own work record. He was collecting on his own record. When he died I was given the option of taking the higher benefit; his being higher I chose his but I lost my own.

The social security system has become a political football and NEVER was intended to protect those who paid into it. It, like ObamaCare, only purpose was to control and rob the people.

Heck, some of my social security benefit is taxed and over a hundred dollars a month is taken out of my social security check to cover Medicare.

Speaking of S. S. Why is it that I have paid into it all my life. I have been married to the same man for 30 plus years. During this time we have both worked and paid into it. Why then does one of us have to decide which account we can have after one of us passes on?  It is both "our" money one of us should have both.

Dear Becky, I empathize with you fully, having been through the whole thing myself in the 90's. God Bless you and keep you and you are in my prayers.

New York's Green Light Law - Allows Illegal Aliens To Get Driver’s Licenses

New York passed a law to allow illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses earlier this year but it was held up by challenges.

Now it is set to take effect this week.

In typical leftist fashion, supporters claim this is going to somehow make New York’s roads safer for everyone.

Could it really be about voting?

FOX News reports:

Illegal immigrants to be able to get driver’s licenses in NY after legal challenge fails.

Illegal immigrants in New York will able to obtain driver’s licenses starting next week after a last-minute legal challenge was dismissed — making it the 13th state to allow the practice, but one that critics say is unconstitutional.

The Green Light Law, signed by Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo earlier this year, allows anyone to apply for a driver’s license regardless of immigration status and does not require a Social Security number.

Illegal immigrants can use a combination of documents that include a valid passport from a foreign country and a valid foreign driver’s license, as long as it has been expired for less than two years.

“After waiting 18 years to have their right to drive restored, thanks to our legislature, New York can now officially join 12 other states in making driver’s licenses legally available to all residents,” New York Immigration Coalition Executive Director Steve Choi said in a statement this week, arguing that it will make roads safer and the economy stronger.

County clerks in New York have concerns and are sounding an alarm.

CBS News in Albany reports:

County clerks concerned by loopholes in Green Light law.

Undocumented immigrants now have the green light to get a driver’s license in New York…but several county clerks in the Capital Region are concerned.

Saratoga County Clerk Craig Hayner said, “We found that everything we were concerned about as far as fraud and all sorts of other things are in that bill, in that regulation and we’re very concerned.”

Hayner tells CBS6’s Lynsey Smith there are a few loopholes in the Green Light Law.

Loopholes, such as a person coming in to get their license and not having to provide their social security number.

“That could lead to criminals coming from other states, coming in and use that as a way to defraud by just simply saying they don’t have a social security number…and that’s a very dangerous loophole,” replied Hayner.

Does anyone believe this is going to make New York safer or that this is really about driving?
