nObama Greets Clock Bomb Kid at White House 
It almost didn't happen. On Monday, the White House announced that Barack nObama might not have time to meet with Ahmed Mohamed, the 14-year-old Texan who was arrested for making a clock that resembled a bomb. "I don't believe that the president will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with Ahmed Mohamed," nObama spokesman Josh Earnest said ahead of the meeting. Ahmed was invited to attend Astronomy Night at the White House Oct. 19 along with several hundred other guests. It might have been political cover to mitigate the chief executive's invitation after the news first broke about the incident at MacArthur High School. "Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House?" nObama tweeted Sept. 16. "We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It's what makes America great." That was before Ahmed got a tableful of Microsoft products and met with Omar al-Bashir, the president of Sudan who is wanted by the international criminal court for genocide. The kid and his father knew what they were doing from the beginning — not making a clock but a scene to prove "Islamophobia." Indeed, Ahmed said, "I’m pretty sure if I was a Caucasian male I wouldn’t have got arrested. ... Pretty sure I would’ve been awarded the smartest kid in class if I was a Caucasian male."
Ahmed's father is politically active and ran for office in Sudan a number of times, and the photo-op with Bashir was Ahmed's 15 minutes of fame. The optics of an nObama-Ahmed visit didn't look as good for nObama, though he did personally greet the boy Monday night. But Ahmed didn't bring the clock. Pity, because it would have been very, very interesting if the Secret Service didn't let it pass through security. -The Patriot Post

Clinton Does Drug Companies Hilly Clinton recently declared a war on drug prices. At a forum in Iowa, she said that asking people to pay thousands of dollars for pills they need to stay alive is not how the market is supposed to work and is instead a sign of "bad actors making a fortune off of people's misfortune." Her prescription is bad actors in Washington dictating prices.
She has, however, tapped into populist sentiment. A recent Kaiser Family Foundation poll showed that more than 70% of Americans think drug costs are unreasonable and want limitations on what drug companies can charge for medicines that treat serious illnesses.
Real events feed this sort of thinking. Turing Pharmaceuticals, for example, has come under fire for a dramatic hike in the price of Daraprim, which has been used for decades to treat toxoplasmosis and more recently to treat AIDS and cancer. Turing purchased a quantity of the drug along with marketing rights, and hiked the price to $750 per tablet from $13.50. Such a steep increase appears to defy reason — and to make Clinton’s case — although the economic factors involved in the price hike are not discussed when Turing is getting run through the ringer.
Clinton concludes that high prices are routinely due to price gouging, as appears to be the case with the Turing price hike. That is the populist’s first response. But Clinton either lacks understanding of how businesses work, and in particular the realities of developing needed pharmaceutical products, or she uses this emotional response to her benefit, or perhaps both. -The Patriot Post

Ryan's Conditions for Speaker Run Paul Ryan said Tuesday he's willing to take a shot at being House speaker, but only under certain conditions. “If I can truly be a unifying figure, then I will gladly serve,” Ryan said. “I’ll be happy to stay where I am at the Ways and Means Committee.” Not only are other Republicans drafting Ryan to run for speaker, but he has repeatedly insisted he doesn't want the job. “This is not a job I’ve ever wanted,” he told reporters after a meeting with Republicans, yet he “came to the conclusion that this is a very dire moment.” That position as the reluctant warrior likely means he'll be able to secure at least some of the concessions he seeks.
First, Ryan aims to delegate some of the traditional traveling and fundraising duties of the speaker to someone else. backstabber-John Boehner spends about 200 days on the road every year. But Ryan has a young family back home in Wisconsin, and he isn't going to sacrifice them on the altar of politics. (Would that more men were willing to be husbands and fathers first.)
Second, and far more significant, Ryan wants unity among Republicans — support from the Republican Study Committee, the Freedom Caucus, the moderate Tuesday Group, and so on. Members have until Friday to decide whether they're willing to put aside their quarrels and rally behind him, or whether he should leave the job nobody wants to someone else.
Republican unity has been particularly hard to come by over the last few years, as most agree on what to oppose but not how to oppose it. Those intraparty fights often resulted in self-inflicted defeats, and, eventually, frustration boiled over and conservatives forced backstabber-Boehner's resignation. The Only Half-Decent Democrat Candidate Drops Out Presidential candidate Jim Webb has left the Democrat primary race, and maybe the Democrat Party. On Tuesday, Webb stood before a group of reporters with his wife at his side and said he is dropping out of the Democrat primary because his views are opposed to the "nominating base" of the party that really should be renamed the Party of Marx. Now, he's mulling running for the White House as an independent candidate. The Democrat Party "is filled with millions of dedicated, hardworking Americans, but its hierarchy is not comfortable with many of the policies that I have laid forth," Webb said. "And quite frankly, I'm not comfortable with many of theirs."
Webb has what other Democrat candidates lack: Character and the integrity not to play identity politics. When asked during last week's Democrat debate who was their greatest enemy, the rest of the candidates named some fellow Americans with whom they disagreed; Webb, who was awarded the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts for his service in Vietnam, said his was the foreign combatant who threw a grenade at him.
Ever since Webb announced his candidacy amidst the tumult of the Independence Day weekend, his campaign has struggled with polling numbers of about 1%. Webb attributes this to the atmosphere created by the Democrat elite, who are more willing to embrace socialists than decorated veterans, who chase lobbyists for the green industry rather than listen to the voices in "West Baltimore and the Appalachian mountains." House approves bill gutting nObamaCare, cutting Planned Parenthood
{foxnews.com} ~ The Republican-controlled House approved legislation Friday that would undo parts of nObamaCare and block federal funding to Planned Parenthood... though it faces turbulence in the Senate, and a certain veto from President nObama should it reach his desk. The bill passed 240-189. Though Republicans have gone after the Affordable Care Act before, as well as Planned Parenthood, this bill is unique in that it uses a parliamentary tactic to make it easier to pass the Senate. {Mark Tapson} ~ Iran's President Hassan Rouhani today welcomed "conditional approval" of nObama/hanoi-Kerry's disastrous nuclear agreement by the country's top authority, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to Reuters... Yesterday Khamenei approved agreement between Iran, the United States and five other major powers aimed at curbing Tehran's nuclear work in exchange for removing sanctions.In a letter to Khamenei, Rouhani said his government will fully implement the agreement while observing the leader's guidance and considerations. Watts raised more than $100,000 for the pro-Clinton super PAC Ready for Hilly in 2013. He has also hosted high-dollar fundraisers for President nObama. The indictment comes several months after a top Republican lawmaker questioned whether the nObama administration was slow-walking the case for political reasons.
