Democrats Have Made the Dream a Nightmare
"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.' ... I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. ... And if America is to be a great nation this must become true." —Martin Luther King Jr.
Of course, today's Democratic Party has turned the wisdom of this iconic sovereign inside out, as if King had said, "I have a dream that my children will one day be judged by the color of their skin, not the content of their character." They've turned it from a dream into a nightmare.
King's 1963 address from the Lincoln Memorial was his most famous, but you have likely never read King's 1966 assessment of racial violence in nObama's hometown of Chicago back: "This is the most tragic picture of man's inhumanity to man. I've been to Mississippi and Alabama and I can tell you that the hatred and hostility in Chicago are really deeper than in Alabama and Mississippi." King added, "Those who are associated with 'Black Power' and black supremacy are wrong."
So you thought racism was just a "deep south problem"? That is what the Democrats and their Leftmedia sycophants would have you believe.
"Black supremacy" is precisely what was drilled into Barack nObama's psyche by his Marxist mentor Frank Marshall Davis and his religious mentor Jeremiah Wright.
Two years ago, nObama dismissed his low approval ratings as being due to racism: "There's no doubt that there's some folks who just really dislike me because they don't like the idea of a black president." Yes, nObama used the anniversary of King's birth to establish that his true legacy is being a half-black president who is nothing more than a race-bait political hustler.
Regardless of one's conclusion about King's proper place in history (given the historical account of his sometimes-lacking personal integrity and character), his letter from a Birmingham jail is well worth reading.

 Iran's Powerball Jackpot
Great news, everyone: Barack nObama has saved the world through "smart, patient and disciplined" diplomacy once again. The occasion for his Sunday boast is two-fold: Iran released several American hostages and the U.S. lifted $100-$150 billion in sanctions on Iran.
Former Marine sergeant Amir Hekmati, Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian, Christian Pastor Saeed Abedini, Nosratollah Khosravi-Roodsari and Matthew Trevithick were all held by Iran but released over the weekend — timed to coincide with sanctions relief — though the whereabouts of former FBI agent Robert Levinson remain unknown. At least nObama promised, "[W]e will never forget about Bob." But Iran got even more in return. nObama noted Sunday, "In a reciprocal humanitarian gesture, six Iranian-Americans and one Iranian serving sentences or awaiting trial in the United States are being granted clemency."
As The Wall Street Journal notes, "Iran gets back men who were assisting its military ambitions while we get innocents. This is similar to the lopsided prisoner swaps that Mr. nObama previously made with Cuba for Alan Gross and the Taliban for alleged deserter Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl." Nonetheless, the emotionally appealing saga and release of our hostages will trump the consequences of this bad deal in Leftmedia coverage.
Meanwhile, we all know nObama's grand nuclear deal is really the sum of all lies, but that didn't stop nObama from bragging more Sunday: "Under the nuclear deal that we, our allies and partners reached with Iran last year, Iran will not get its hands on a nuclear bomb. ... Now that Iran's actions have been verified, it can begin to receive relief from certain nuclear sanctions and gain access to its own money that had been frozen. And perhaps most important of all, we've achieved this historic progress through diplomacy, without resorting to another war in the Middle East." Again as if it's his way or war.
Notably, nObama announced new sanctions that applied to 11 persons and companies involved in Iran's missile program — months after two ballistic missile tests that violated UN resolutions. But this too is a smoke screen. Finally, as if it could get worse, the U.S. will pay Iran $1.7 billion (most of which is interest) to settle a 35-year-old disputed bill on military equipment we never delivered — because Iran happened to be holding more than 60 Americans hostage at the time.
So to recap, we get a few captive Americans (which is good), while Iran can detain 10 American sailors and exploit them for propaganda just before receiving nearly $2 billion in exchange for finalizing a deal preserving its nuclear program. nObama sure knows how to drive a hard bargain.  -The Patriot Post

Bernie's Health Plan Is Logical Step for Demos
Hours before the Democrat debate in Charleston Sunday night (another weekend debate that nobody watched, by the way), Bernie Sanders released his final solution for fixing the problems nObamaCare wrought: Instituting a single-payer health care system by giving "Medicare for all." The cost would be tremendous. The Wall Street Journal reported the socialist candidate's plan would increase government spending by $14 trillion over 10 years and would be "funded" by instituting a 2.2% increase tax on income, a payroll tax on employers, oh, and Sanders' go-to promise that the rich will pick up most of the bill. Since the beginning, some Democrats planned to use nObamaCare as a stepping-stone to single-payer health care. Sanders is just taking that logical next step and demanding what the Left has really wanted all along.
Hilly Clinton responded in the debate by attacking Sanders' consistency, arguing that he flipped on several issues to make himself more compelling to Democrat voters — such as becoming a more ardent supporter of gun control and tweaking his health care plan. Clinton's biggest critique of Sanders' plan is that it would dismantle nObamaCare, an evidently unforgivable sin after how hard Democrats wheedled and worked to get that failed institution passed. At one point, Sanders said many of his supporters implored him to make a "vicious attack" against Clinton, but he hasn't done that because he's "trying to run an issue-oriented campaign." And Sanders is overtaking Clinton in the polls, leaving the woman who regularly reads the political winds and changes tack accordingly to try to win voters by harkening back to nObama administration nostalgia. At least Sanders has the integrity to say he is a socialist.    -The Patriot Post

{freebeacon.com} ~ The Department of State recently discovered “thousands” of previously unreviewed documents that relate to Hilly Clinton and the Benghazi attack... according to a watchdog group that has been suing the department to release public records from Clinton’s tenure. The State Department disclosed the existence of the additional records in a court filing on Friday and asked the judge for further time to search and review the documents. The watchdog group Judicial Watch has been suing the State Department for years to turn over public records related to Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state, the Clinton Foundation, the employment arrangements of Clinton’s top aides, and her response to the Benghazi attack.

{freebeacon.com} ~ Former secretary of state Hilly Clinton considered a secret plan created by her then-advisers to foment unrest among Palestinian citizens and spark protests in order to push the Israeli government back to the negotiating table... according to emails released as part of the investigation into the Democratic presidential frontrunner’s private email server. In a Dec, 18, 2011, email, former U.S. ambassador to Israel Thomas Pickering suggested that Clinton consider a plan to restart then-stalled peace negotiations by kickstarting Palestinian demonstrations against Israel. Pickering described the effort as a potential “game changer in the region,” recommending that the United States undertake a clandestine campaign to generate unrest. Clinton requested that his email be printed.

{patriotpowerednews.com} ~ The dude is usional. Go to talk with the Islamic State and you will get your head chopped off. Why do these leaders want to negotiate with terrorists in the first place?... LABOUR leader Jeremy Corbyn has sparked outrage after suggesting the UK government should engage in ‘back channel’ talks with ISIS terrorists. The firebrand leftie made the shocking on BBC1’s The Andrew Marr Show, as he called for a political solution to the Syrian conflict. Mr Corbyn stated there must be a “route through” to Islamic State, also known as ISIL, which could help end the bloodshed. But he did not go as far as suggesting a ‘dialogue’ could be struck up with the murderous jihadis, who regularly post beheading videos on. The incumbent pointed to other governments in the region who are “in touch” with the leaders of Daesh, another term for ISIS, and compared that to Britian’s position in the past.        http://patriotpowerednews.com/this-british-leader-thinks-a-talk-with-brutal-isis-jihadists-is-sufficient/

Watch the clip. It’s 47 seconds. Watch the whole thing because she says something truly infuriating: Did you catch that? {wallstreetdaily.com} ~ It was only a matter of time… Last week, relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran worsened sharply. First, the Saudis executed a Shia cleric. Then a mob attacked Saudi Arabia’s Tehran embassy. Diplomatic relations between Iran and a number of Sunni Arab states deteriorated. Since Saudi Arabia and Iran are the second- and third-largest economies in the Middle East (after Turkey) and represent a large portion of the global oil market, their religious differences have both economic and political implications. It’s this conflict more than any other that could crash the world economy.        http://www.wallstreetdaily.com/2016/01/18/middle-east-conflict/

{wallstreetdaily.com} ~ The figure is staggering…According to a survey by cyber security firm EY, a whopping 88% of global organizations don’t believe their online defenses are good enough to meet their needs... Now, with a figure like that – with a crystal clear majority acknowledging that there’s a problem – you’d think all these firms would be busy addressing the issue. Alas, you’d be wrong. One-third of banking companies  won’t be boosting their cyber security budgets this year. The number is even higher in the retail sector, where 40% of companies don’t plan to increase spending. For two sectors that hold virtually all our sensitive personal data, that’s downright alarming. Have these firms learned nothing from the growing list of high-profile security breaches at the likes of Target Corp. (TGT), eBay Inc.(EBAY), Home Depot Inc. (HD), and JPMorgan Chase & Co.(JPM)?        http://www.wallstreetdaily.com/2016/01/18/cyber-security-attacks/

{punchingbagpost.com} ~ In the video below, Milton Friedman explains why socialism is fundamentally flawed... The essential notion of a capitalist society is voluntary cooperation, while the basis of socialism is force. “Whenever we depart from voluntary cooperation and try to do good by using force, the bad morale value of force triumphs over good intentions,” he says. Government is the large scale managing of relationships between people and those relationships should be based on respect, not use of force.        http://punchingbagpost.com/socialism-is-force---a-message-from-one-of-the-smartest-men-on-earth

{ibtimes.co.uk} ~ A new type of black hole and the second largest in our galaxy may have been discovered, say astronomers from Japan... The black hole is thought to be in the middle of an enigmatic gas cloud located 200 light years from the centre of the Milky Way. The researchers found that this gas cloud, known as CO-0.44-0.22, moves at such varying speeds that a specific type of black hole is thought to be the cause. Should this be the case, it would be the first ever official discovery of a third classification of the phenomenon – an ‘intermediate’ black hole. The gas cloud has been spotted 200 light years from the centre of the Milky Way, which spans 100,000 light years across. Researchers found that the cloud has an usually wide range of velocities – some were moving very fast as they approached a certain point and then moved slower as they moved away from it.

.
{aim.org} ~ This week I had the great honor and opportunity to attend the world premiere screening of the new Michael Bay movie, “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.” It is the true story of a group of men—heroes—who risked their lives to attempt to save Ambassador Chris Stevens, Information Officer Sean Smith, and their colleagues at the Special Mission Compound, and then continued fighting al-Qaeda-affiliated jihadists, saving the lives of dozens of people working at the nearby CIA Annex. Among the questions surrounding the film is whether it is meant to be political in any way, and if it is, in fact, political.
.
The premiere took place at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys football team, and was shown on a screen that was two-and-a-half times larger than the largest IMAX screen. The audience, depending on the source, was in the range of 30,000 to 40,000 people. Tickets were complimentary, and the event was set up as a benefit for military veterans. I was there along with other members of the Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi, which Accuracy in Media established back in the summer of 2013.
.
We met the three named co-authors of the book on which the film was based, 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi—John “Tig” Tiegen, Mark “Oz” Geist, and Kris “Tanto” Paronto—early on, and were well aware of their story. The book and the audio CDs were dramatic and exciting, but nothing prepared us for this movie, which opens this weekend nationwide, and is receiving mixed reviews.
.
The premiere was quite an event, with two hours of festivities prior to the start of the film. The festivities included interviews with the three afore-mentioned men who were part of the Global Response Staff (GRS) at the CIA Annex; with the director, Michael Bay, who also directed the “Transformer” movies, along with “Pearl Harbor” and “Armageddon;” and with some of the actors, including John Krasinski of “The Office” fame. “Entertainment Tonight (ET),” the syndicated nightly show about the entertainment business, which, like the movie itself, is produced by Paramount, hosted the red carpet event on a stage on the floor of the stadium. You can see the ET report here:
.
.
The job of the GRS was to protect CIA personnel who were stationed at the Annex, which was approximately one mile away from the Special Mission Compound, often referred to as the consulate—although it wasn’t actually a consulate. Two of the three, Oz and Tig, were former Marines, and Tanto was a former Army Ranger.
.
I wrote about this when the book, 13 Hours, came out in 2014, and Fox News did a one-hour special on it. Fox News was punished for it by the nObama administration, according to Greta Van Susteren, who said that Fox was excluded from State Department and Central Intelligence Agency media background meetings. “Well, I think Fox News is being punished for aggressively asking questions, doing our jobs,” said Greta.  That wasn’t all. “A few weeks later, when reporter Jennifer Griffin said she was told that there was a stand down order at Benghazi, I got a weird call from the nObama administration trying to pressure me to get Jennifer to back down on her report. I thought the call from the nObama administration was dirty,” contended Susteren.
.
The film touches on the personal lives of the men, just enough to help understand their motivations.
.
I have written extensively about the series of scandals that comprise Benghazi, including this article from last month. And while the movie presents enough background information to touch on all of them—the focus of the film was on the failure to provide adequate security to the ambassador and others at the Special Mission Compound, and the dereliction of duty, in failing to bring military assets to at least attempt to help the security team hold off and kill the terrorists.
.
Just last month, Judicial Watch, which has unearthed many explosive documents over the last 20 years through Freedom of Information requests, and specifically on Benghazi, received an email pursuant to a 2014 FOIA lawsuit against the State Department. The email was from military chief of staff Jeremy Bash, who wrote to the State Department approximately three-and-a-half hours into the eight-hour attack—well before the terrorists killed CIA contractors and former Navy SEALs Glenn Doherty and Ty Woods—that “we have identified the forces that could move to Benghazi. They are spinning up as we speak. They include a SOF [special operations forces] element that was in Croatia…”
.
Sharyl Attkisson, on her weekend Sinclair Broadcasting show “Full Measure,” did an outstanding investigative piece showing that military assets were in place and ready to come to the aid of the CIA Annex, but the request to cross the border into Libya was never made, and the forces that were “spinning” and ready to go were obviously told to stand down, whether by omission or commission. Attkisson’s investigation is divided into two segments of about six-and-a-half minutes each, and I highly recommend watching both segments. Segment one is here:
.
.
This is the sort of investigative reporting that Attkisson was prevented from doing at CBS News, where she worked for more than 20 years. It just so happens that the president of CBS News, David Rhodes, is the brother of President nObama’s Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes, and this report on Benghazi serves as a devastating indictment of the nObama administration. David Rhodes was named to that position in 2011.
.
The reasons given by the nObama administration for not sending in Special Forces or military aircraft was that they didn’t have enough time and that the intelligence wasn’t good enough. As then Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta said during Senate testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee, “…time, distance, the lack of an adequate warning, events that moved very quickly on the ground prevented a more immediate response.”
.
But we know that they had advance warning, both tactical and strategic, of a potential attack in Benghazi. And considering that it was the anniversary of the 9/11/2001 attacks, there was no excuse for not being on high alert anyway. Attkisson’s reporting makes the dereliction of duty very clear.
.
As much as the movie stays away from politics, and never once mentions Hilly Clinton or President nObama by name, it’s hard to imagine people watching this movie and not being outraged by the failures of this administration to protect these people who put their lives at risk for this country.
.
Variety magazine headlined its article, “‘13 Hours’ Is Light on Politics, But Sure to Stir Benghazi Controversy.” But not everyone agreed that it was so light on politics.
.
Many on the left are apoplectic about this film, fearing that it could tarnish even further the legacy of President nObama, and prove to be a serious problem for Mrs. Clinton’s bid for the White House. Here, for example, is an excerpt from a review in the left-wing British Guardian:
.
Don’t tell me this movie isn’t political. Michael Bay’s Benghazi bonanza is timed for release just before the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary. It’ll hit DVD in time for the general election. There are approximately 400,000 instances in this not-very-subtle screenplay where Fox News viewers are cued to hiss at a phantom Hilly Rodham Clinton, the right wing’s scapegoat for the missteps that kept the Benghazi outpost fighting so long without backup. As these brave men take fire, their inquiries about air support become a clear indictment against a perceived US policy of pussification. While the boondoggle portrayed in 13 Hours may be based on fact, this is movie is fueled by paranoia and hate. Paranoia about a culture too foreign to grasp except as a bunch of mindless monsters, and hate against a government that won’t let us destroy them. Abhorrent politics aside, it’s also a terrible movie. The dialogue is atrocious, the performances rote.
.
I personally thought the film was brilliant, powerful and emotional. It felt like you were watching this horrible nightmare unfold before your eyes. I strongly urge everyone to go see this film. You won’t wonder any more what all the fuss is about Benghazi. And I certainly hope that the members of the House Select Committee on Benghazi all see the film before issuing their final report.
