Most recently, both the Senate confirmation hearings of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Bob Woodward’s book, and the “anonymous” opinion published by The New York Times are current examples of this collective meltdown that manifests itself in political theater mixed with behavior that in most other arenas of business would be career-ending.
Simply put, all this bad behavior validates the existence of a “deep state” that is best kept alive, relevant, and powerful when it oversees and cultivates the status quo of all things controlled by a heavy-handed centralized government bureaucracy. That bureaucracy never fully meets its stated goals and is, therefore, always needed.
Within the last week, the August jobs numbers showed 201,000 jobs were added to the nation’s growing economy with wages increasing by 2.9%. Both reflect a more productive and prepared workforce seeing their paychecks increase from earnings, not just the historic tax cuts. But the cry from Trump’s haters remains the same: #Resist!
Last week, the Trump administration announced the size of the Environmental Protection Agency is now about the size it was in employee numbers when President Ronald Reagan was in office, as a net 1,200 jobs have been eliminated and redundant programs ended. What? Cutting government spending? Again, what do we hear from the anti-Trump gaggle? One 34-year government veteran declared in a Washington Post article that the “regime” is nothing more than “termites, gnawing at the foundation” of the beloved EPA.
Then you have the three-ring circus of the Kavanaugh hearings. Those began with the well-choreographed interruptions from senators, phony attempted handshakes, and audience protesters (more than 200 protesters were arrested). In the second ring was the soaring rhetoric of scumbag-Cory Booker (D-Spartacus), who abandoned his Senate committee role to play the part of the legendary escaped slave/gladiator who led an uprising against the Roman Republic. Spartacus declared that he was releasing confidential material that would expose the dangers of Kavanaugh’s racism. But his moment of supposed fireworks proved to be a dud of embarrassing “histrionics.”
In the circus’s third ring was the sleight-of-hand act that most didn’t see, because, well, there was nothing to see. Mexican-Jewish Republican operative and former Kavanaugh clerk Zina Bash was shown sitting behind the nominee during the proceedings, and she had the audacity to make an “okay” sign with her hand. Leftists supposedly even caught her mouthing the word “okay.” Cue the cries of — we kid you not — racism and white supremacy.
While we laugh in our incredulity, this last week was a terrific display of the wonderful policy victories that have resulted in conservative governance benefitting Americans and our great nation. Wages are up, unemployment is at historic lows across all demographics, our federal workforce is being right-sized to cease its overregulation and unnecessary competition with the private sector, and the Supreme Court is about to have a justice confirmed who actually carries and references a well-worn Constitution in his deliberations as judge. Clearly, these outcomes must be #Resisted because of some series of offenses manufactured by the Left and the unelected deep state fearing its existential demise.
All while this embarrassment was on display in the Senate Judiciary Committee, the New York Times published an anonymous opinion piece supposedly written by an individual who works within the Trump administration. Yet this person is a self-declared member of the #Resistance of “like-minded colleagues” who have banded together and “vowed to thwart parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.”
This virtue-signaling bureaucrat somewhere in the span of thousands of government workers who easily fit the definition of a “senior Trump official,” is telling Americans, Not only did you blow it by not electing liar-Hillary Clinton and voting this complete political novice into office who has the audacity to keep his campaign promises and implement conservative policy, but the entire election must now be delegitimized and undermined by this committed group of the deep state to protect the status quo of Big Government.
Whether they be dummycrats-Democrats (nowdummycrats-Democratic Socialists), disgruntled establishment GOPers, or the Leftmedia propaganda machine, these are all members of a group devoted to the empowerment of government for its own sake, and their status within that elitist group whose commitment is to the bureaucracy, not the citizenry. The vivid behavior of this assembly validates the deep state while its members chortle and sniff at the unwashed masses of Americans whose confidence has returned in their jobs, the economy, security, and national pride.
Get ready, deep state. This will really offend you. Trump’s only doing what Reagan promised in his first Inaugural Address: “We are a nation that has a government — not the other way around. And this makes us special among the nations of the Earth. Our government has no power except that granted it by the people. It is time to check and reverse the growth of government, which shows signs of having grown beyond the consent of the governed. It is my intention to curb the size and influence of the federal establishment and to demand recognition of the distinction between the powers granted to the federal government and those reserved to the states or to the people. All of us need to be reminded that the federal government did not create the states; the states created the federal government.”
