Western Liberals and Religious Tests for High Office

{ americanthinker.com } ~ “No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”... In these few words included in Article VI, Section III of the Constitution of the United States of America, lay the foundation for the defense of religious belief as no barrier for holding high political office. This explicit ban on religious tests as prerequisite for high political office continues to be one of the great gifts of the American founding to the world and freedom. Many countries in the West have adopted similar constitutional or statutory language.  However, our “modern” society led by Western liberal forces has swept away this tradition, creating an informal religious test and thus a barrier for high political office. The latest example of Western liberal imposition of a religious test, particularly regarding orthodox religious belief, was an interview by BBC presenter Jo Coburn of practicing Catholic MP Jacob Rees-Mogg. If you listen to the questions by the interviewer, you would think the Catholic emancipation of 1829 in the United Kingdom hadn’t occurred. But the line of questioning was clear -- could Mr. Rees-Mogg occupy high office with such views on abortion and gay marriage which are not the accepted views of Western liberals? We see examples like this one every day in interviews and debates in which politicians of the left and right participate. This interrogation is just the newest example of traditional religious politicians being tested if their views conflict with the established views of modern society. In the case of the West, this established view is based on liberal Christianity being the acceptable face in the public sphere of Christian teachings...

CAIR & Huffington Post target private citizen @AmyMek

{ trevorloudon.com } ~ More evidence of the left’s tendency for tyranny is apparent in the terrifying story of a private citizen who uses the handle @AmyMek on Twitter... Mek was viciously doxxed by a particularly vile “journalist” named Luke O’Brien of the Verizon-owned Huffington Post, who unapologetically revealed the prominent Twitter personality’s real name and that of her husband, ultimately resulting in the loss of his job at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). The irony is that in the wake of the attack, the most cringe-worthy, vitriolic sputum has been aimed enthusiastically at Amy Mek, while these same – often anonymous accounts – are simultaneously and self-righteously promoting tolerance. They are only tolerant of a lock-step philosophy that dare not be challenged. According to one of the few trustworthy journalists, Paul Sperry, Amy was not a random target. The Council on American–Islamic Relations (CAIR) specifically targeted Amy Mek, along with President Trump’s National Security Council appointee Fred Fleitz...

Israel thwarts major terror attack and assassination plot

{ jpost.com } ~ Israel’s Shin Bet internal security agency thwarted a terrorist cell... directed by an operative in Syria who planned to harm senior Israeli figures and international delegations, it was announced on Tuesday. According to the Shin Bet, 30-year-old Muhammad Jamal Rashdah from the Shuafat refugee camp in east Jerusalem planned to carry out significant attacks against a variety of targets, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat. Rashdah, a former security prisoner with an Israeli ID card, also planned attacks against a Canadian representatives residing in Jerusalem who train Palestinian Authority forces in the West Bank as well as against buildings belonging to the American consulate. DACA fix will spur new wave of illegal immigration: ICE chief

{ washingtontimes.com } ~ Passing a “clean” Dream Act to legalize illegal immigrant “Dreamers” will spur a new wave of illegal immigration... and create a new population that will need an amnesty 10 or 20 years in the future, the government’s chief deportation official said Tuesday. Tom Homan, who has been acting as the chief at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement since the beginning of the Trump administration, said even the talk of a renewed immigration debate on Capitol Hill will entice people to make the perilous journey to try to jump the border, saying during his nearly 35 years in immigration enforcement he’s seen it happen “every time you talk about some sort of benefit” such as legal status for illegal immigrants. “It certainly increases illegal crossings, that’s been proven for the last three decades I’ve been around,” Mr. Homan said at an event sponsored by the Center for Immigration Studies...

The SPLC is Indifferent to Muslim Anti-Semitism

{ investigativeproject.org } ~ Muslim anti-Semitism receives scant mention from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC)... an organization that is supposed to be dedicated to "fighting hate and extremism." Its website has 1,327 articles about non-Muslim anti-Semitic actions, statements or hate crimes. Less than 10 articles out of thousands on its website mention Muslim anti-Semitism. Instead, it allies with Islamist groups and leaders, including the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), while giving their anti-Semitism a pass. SPLC's credibility has been questioned. It took down its media guide this year after Quilliam Foundation co-founder Maajid Nawaz pointed out that its media guide contained fabrications about him. That guide also attacked IPT Executive Director Steven Emerson. Planned Parenthood Profits Off of Child Sexual Abuse 

by Jordan Candler:  In 2012, Barack liar-nObama said, “The outrage of human trafficking … must be called by its true name: modern slavery.” Calling it “barbaric,” “evil” and something that “has no place in a civilized world,” he admonished: “American tax dollars must never, ever be used to support the trafficking of human beings. We have zero tolerance. We mean what we say, and we’ll enforce it.”

             Conversely, in 2013, liar-nObama adoringly told America’s most notorious abortion mill: “Thank you, Planned Parenthood. God bless you.” Here’s the irony: Half a billion taxpayer dollars go to Planned Parenthood every year, which means that taxpayers aren’t just funding abortion-on-demand, they’re also helping sustain a form of human trafficking that liar-nObama once deemed “barbaric,” “evil” and something that “has no place in a civilized world.” The proof is provided by a new Live Action report. Zero tolerance? Hardly.
               The Live Action exposé documents numerous examples of abuse, including incestuous child rape wherein 12- and 13-year-old girls were taken to Planned Parenthood clinics for abortions after being impregnated by family members (multiple times in at least one case). As horrible as this is, the worst part is that the perpetrators got away with their crimes thanks to Planned Parenthood’s nonexistent convictions.
               As one former manager explained it: “We were all required to be mandatory reporters, but … we really were discouraged from calling [the abuse] in, just because they didn’t want to have the trouble — the angry parent, the angry boyfriend, whatever it was. So, more than once I was told, ‘No, that is not reportable. You don’t need to call it in.’” Furthermore, Live Action says, “Planned Parenthood’s repeated failure to report such incidents has allowed abusers to continue abusing their victims, often for years. This reputation has led to Planned Parenthood becoming a haven for sexual abusers and sex traffickers. Planned Parenthood is a favorite place to take their victims to cover up their crimes.”
               Matt Walsh writes, “I don’t believe that staff members at your average Planned Parenthood clinic support rape, per se. I think they just care much more about the financial and ideological bottom line. Financially, rape is good for business because it brings in money. Repeated rape, especially the repeated rape of a child by a family member, is extremely good for business because it creates a sustained revenue stream. And ideologically, it would hurt the cause of ‘reproductive rights’ if people began to understand just how often women are coerced or outright forced to ‘choose’ abortions.”
               Amazingly, Democrats have literally asked God to bless an organization that doesn’t just perform hundreds of thousands of abortions every year but shields rapists. And it’s no wonder. As the Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 6:10, “The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.”
