Just how did the FBI's "Crossfire Hurricane" investigation into the 2016 Trump presidential campaign get started? What led the FBI to look into whether President Trump was working on behalf of Russia? Why did the Justice Department use an ancient, never-enforced law as a pretext to interrogate then-national security adviser Michael Flynn, leading to one of the most troubling court cases in recent years? And more. Each investigation involved highly publicized leaks that led to many headlines and endless discussion on cable TV. Anti-Trump voices stood firmly in support of more and more detailed inquiries of the president and his allies. But now, as Barr looks into how it all started, some voices that were part of that frenzy are changing their tune about the value of investigations. They now express concern about investigations, concern that Barr is politicizing the Justice Department to go after perceived political enemies. "The power to investigate is the power to destroy," a former U.S. attorney, Gregory Brower, told the Washington Post recently. "The ability to simply point to a pending investigation against a person can have devastating effects on that person and can have a potential political benefit to the person orchestrating the investigation." "President Trump appears to be now using his power, with an assist from the Justice Department, to exact revenge on some perceived political enemies," said NBC's Chuck Todd. The president is "weaponizing the Department of Justice against perceived enemies," said CNN's Anderson Cooper. Not to be too blunt about it, but where were these voices the last three years? Where were they when the Steele dossier burst onto the scene in January 2017, with its extremely damaging and unsupported allegations, leaked to undermine the president right as he took office?...

a Severe Prison Term for Roger Stone

And neither are other elected Democrats who have mounted a full-scale attack against Attorney General William Barr... for recommending a reasonable prison sentence for Roger Stone, rather than the draconian sentence Barr’s subordinates advocated in a court filing. scumbag-Schumer, D-N.Y., wants the Justice Department inspector general to investigate Barr because scumbag-Schumer thinks Barr gave Stone a sweetheart deal at President Donald Trump’s direction. Barr denies it. Whether the inspector general takes up the issue is anyone’s guess. But if his office does, its report no doubt will highlight the fact that all lawyers in the Justice Department work for the attorney general, and that every attorney general has the right to overrule and even fire his subordinates in any case. For his part, Barr told reporters that “the essential role of the attorney general is to keep law enforcement, the criminal process sacrosanct to make sure there is no political interference in it. And I have done that, and I will continue to do that.”Contrary to the claims against Barr of unfair “political interference” in the pending sentencing of Stone, his handling of the over-the-top recommendations by prosecutors demonstrates that he is doing exactly what attorneys general are supposed to do and that he is committed to restoring evenhanded enforcement of our nation’s laws. No one disputes that Stone was accused and convicted of several serious crimes—obstructing a congressional investigation, making false statements to Congress, and witness tampering. The military brass was lobbying for 6,000 special immigrant visas for Iraqis who worked for American forces in the country. These visas were once again billed as helping “interpreters”. That’s a lot of interpreters considering that there were only 5,200 American troops in Iraq. How could there be more Iraqi interpreters for American troops than there are troops The Special Immigrant Visa scam has been sold for over a decade using the same claim that it’s needed to save the lives of Iraqi and Afghan interpreters who are risking death by helping American soldiers. In one decade, the United States has handed out 75,250 of these visas to Iraqi and Afghan employees, and their dependents. Between 2007 and 2017, they represented 1 percent of all immigrant visas. The truth is that the military brass has wrongly used the incentive of Special Immigrant Visas to recruit local personnel and cut costs by promising them resettlement in the United States. Considering the costs of resettling even the nicest Iraqi or Afghan families, it would have been cheaper to pay each of them a six-figure salary. But that would have come out of the defense budget. The SIV scam passes the buck to local cities and states, to ordinary taxpayers and communities who have to hire interpreters who speak Pashto to interact with the children of the interpreters who are swamping local school systems. One Iraqi or Afghan employee brings a lot more dependents and expenses with him. In 2017, the 4,677 Iraqi and Afghan employees brought 13,713 dependents with them for a total of 18,390 refugees. The phenomenon is so striking it even has a name, Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), though such a label risks trivializing a truly serious problem. Whatever the case, Fox News reports on the issue: A startling rash of threats and violent incidents targeting Republican voters in recent weeks is raising concerns about the increasingly toxic political climate, just as the 2020 presidential primaries are getting started. The incidents began earlier this month when a Florida man, Gregory Timm, 27, allegedly rammed his van into a Republican Party voter registration tent. According to reports, Timm ran over chairs and tables, and witnesses said he recorded the scene moments after the incident, made an obscene gesture and sped off. Timm has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a person 65 years old or older, one count of criminal mischief and driving with a suspended license. An arrest report said Timm told deputies he did not like President Trump and “someone had to take a stand.” There have been other recent cases, too. On February 11, 34-year-old Patrick Bradley of Windham, New Hampshire, slapped a 15-year old boy across the face and then assaulted two other adults who intervened. The victims were manning a Trump campaign tent. “Bradley is also accused of throwing Trump campaign signs and attempting to knock over the campaign tent,” Fox added... China’s Xi Threatens More Crackdowns As
Scientists Say Coronavirus May Have
Originated From Wuhan Labs

This is being pushed as Chinese scientists in South Beijing have said the virus’ origin was the long-suspected Wuhan Virology lab or another Wuhan Center for Disease Control lab. The government must “strengthen the management and control of online media,” and “crack down on those who seize the opportunity to create rumors” on the internet, Xi said. “It is necessary to increase use of police force and strengthen the visible use of police,” Xi said, calling for a crackdown on behavior that “disrupts social order” including hoarding medical supplies. This is amid a lockdown of over 400 million people forbidden from leaving the country and in some cases even their own homes. Xi’s call to police the internet comes after a Chinese professor, Xu Zhangrun, published a rare public critique of President Xi Jinping over China’s coronavirus crisis. The man was then placed under house arrest after his report according to the Guardian. Other Chinese scientists in South Beijing just recently released a bombshell study from the Beijing-sponsored South China University of Technology that states the Wuhan Center for Disease Control (WHCDC) could have spawned the contagion in Hubei province. “The possible origins of the previously named 2019-nCoV (COVID-19) coronavirus,” are claimed by Botao Xiao and Lei Xiao to originate from either the Wuhan Virology Institute or the WHCDC which kept disease-ridden animals in laboratories, including 605 bats. The paper also mentions that bats – which are linked to coronavirus – once attacked a researcher and the “blood of a bat was on his skin,” which resulted in the researcher quarantining himself after the incident for 2 weeks.
