2 More Aircraft Carriers Join
US Expedition to NK
by Ben Marquis
{} ~ Everyone has been talking for the past week about the aircraft carrier strike group President Donald Trump dispatched toward the Korean peninsula as a warning to North Korean dictator Kim Jong In... but Kim seems not to have gotten the message thus far, considering his grand military parade and continued provocative missile launches. But according to a report from South Korean media outlet Yonhap, there are rumors circulating that Trump just upped the ante by ordering two more carrier strike groups deployed to the tense region, placing a tremendous amount of air and naval firepower at the disposal of the military’s regional commander. A roughly translated version of the article, which cites South Korean government officials who claimed knowledge of the deployment orders, stated that in addition to the USS Carl Vinson, already steaming toward Korea from Singapore, the carrier strike groups of the USS Ronald Reagan and USS Nimitz were also ordered to head for the region...
We’ve Lost A Generation That Hates America...
by Rick Wells
{} ~ Tucker Carlson takes on the issue of rampant education system failures that is being evidenced by a wide range of social aberrations... starting of with the refusal to honor and to claim being offended by the American flag. He had originally booked representatives of the Student Senate at the University of California at Davis, who had just voted to stop requiring the flag at their meetings, to come onto his show and attempt to defend their position. They got cold feet, apparently aware that they had no legitimate basis for their stance, and stopped returning his phone calls. Instead Tammy Bruce was more than willing to join him for an analysis of what’s going on with these lame brains. It just so happened that this was also the topic of a column she is writing for the Washington Times, so the information is readily available and fresh. Bruce says, “There are now so many strange issues, that it’s not just about being snowflakes and wanting safe spaces, it now has turned into violence, like what we saw at Berkeley” and shutting down speakers they don’t agree with...
Entire Western World Helped
liar-nObama WIRETAP Trump
by John Nolte
{} ~ If you are wondering why our national media has pretty much dropped the whole Trump-Is-A-Russian-Manchurian-Candidate thing, it is because the naked truth about the liar-nObama administration's chilling spying... something the media has covered up for months -- is finally coming to light. Last week, both The Washington Post and The New York Times quietly reported that the liar-nObama administration had "wiretapped" (their word, not mine) a Trump staffer. In other words, the whole world was spying on Trump, not just the liar-nObama administration, and even with all of these resources the Democrats and their media got exactly squat. There is no evidence of any wrongdoing between Team Trump and Russia. There is, however, a growing pile of evidence that Team Barry needs to be investigated by Congress and the Justice Department. Hinderaker's second point is that everyone in the world was so sure liar-Hillary Clinton was going to beat Trump that all of these countries believed it was safe to "curry favor with the new administration" by spying on her opponent, by offering her intelligence-oppo during the campaign that was then leaked to a MSM that was 100% complicit in this illegal behavior -- because leaking intelligence is a felony...
Democratic Senator Says His Own Party’s Fundraising Emails Are ‘Bumming People Out’
by Chuck Ross
{} ~ A Democratic senator blasted his own party’s fundraising apparatus on Monday, saying that the party’s congressional campaign committee is “bumming people out” with fundraising emails full of hopelessness and despair... “Who writes these? They really need to stop bumming people out. In order to win we must communicate that we BELIEVE,” Hawaii Sen. Brian Schatz wrote on Twitter. Schatz was responding to a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee email asking for financial support ahead of Tuesday’s special election in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District. “Kiss all hope goodbye,” is the subject of the email. “Georgia Democrats’ early vote lead PLUNGES,” the headline reads.
This might be how Trump
approaches picking a new Fed chair
by James Pethokoukis
{} ~ As I wrote yesterday, Donald Trump used to talk about the “highly political” Fed boss Janet Yellen. He has suggested Yellen probably wouldn’t get a second term heading the central bank. No more inflating the “false economy.”... It really might not be a whole lot more complicated than that. Potential center-right Fed picks — the folks President Jeb Bush might have considered — tend to be more hawkish than Yellen. Here is what John Taylor told a congressional panel last month: ” … the Fed should normalize policy and get back to the kind of policy that worked well in the past.” And Martin Feldstein in the WSJ last October: “All of this suggests a willingness to continue the current dangerous policy of low interest rates—regardless of its effect on asset prices, inflation and financial stability. It is past time for the Fed to shift gears and normalize interest rates more rapidly.” And Kevin Warsh, also in the WSJ, last summer: “The conduct of monetary policy in recent years has been deeply flawed.” Finally, Arthur Laffer, in the FT last December: “Markets really know how to give you prices and Janet Yellen doesn’t. She’s never been forced to bear the consequences of her own actions.”...
Calloused Americans
by Tom McLaughlin
Look! A working class white guy!
{} ~ After a few hours of writing on my laptop, I need to get up, change my clothes, and do another kind of work that involves more than my brain and my fingers on a keyboard. I have to use tools invented and manufactured in previous centuries — tools like saws, hammers, drills, chainsaws, tape measures, rulers, squares, scrapers, and the like. I have to think and work in three dimensions. I have to feel my tools and materials, and smell things like earth, sawn wood, or paint. I have to move my body, lift things, climb ladders, set up saw horses — either fix something or build it.
There are callouses on my hands and I own a pickup truck. That makes me different from most Americans on the east or west coast. That I’m also a heterosexual, white guy (HWG) makes it very likely that I voted for Trump. When the uncalloused try to analyze what happened last November 8th, they refer to us as “non-college-educated white men.” It’s ill-concealed condescension, but if called out on it, the uncalloused hastily add a Seinfeldesque: “…not that there’s anything wrong with that” as a further effort to camouflage contempt.
They were the ones laughing last September 9th in New York City when a smug liar-Hillary Clinton put half of Trump supporters into a “basket of deplorables.” We’re not nearly as sophisticated as she and her audience. We’re calloused, deplorable, HWGs. We’re “irredeemable” because we can never be as smart as they are — even though we’re the ones they call when something doesn’t work and they cannot figure out why, or something breaks and they don’t know how to fix it. They think our intelligence is limited, but we know it’s the other way around. We know more about their world than they know about ours, but they never suspect that.
NBC Pajama Boy in shock
We were the ones laughing on November 9th — at the shocked faces of the uncalloused sophisticates on NBC, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, as well as the tearful faces on college campuses. We’re still chuckling at pussyhat marches and the rest of the protests.
Non-college-educated white men didn't borrow against their future to spend years being inculcated with progressive pap. They don’t have to spend still more years learning that what they purchased with those tens of thousands of dollars was worthless, or that it could all have been picked it all up just be reading a few books here and there. We respect the college-educated who studied the hard sciences: physics, engineering, biology, chemistry, nursing, IT, and so forth. That kind of college is worth something. It’s grounded in the real world, unlike: sociology, education, art history, journalism, or any of the “studies” — like “ethnic studies”; “queer studies”; “women’s studies”; “gender studies”; and so forth.
In the interest of full disclosure, I had to get some degrees because they were necessary for a teaching certificate, thought they shouldn’t have been. They didn’t teach me to teach. To do that, one must know the subject matter, and then be able to impart it to others. There’s no need for college “education departments.” I endured dozens of worthless courses before I could get into a classroom, but I wasn’t brainwashed by them: I worked full-time in the real world throughout the process and stayed grounded. I knew academic baloney when I heard it, and that was more than forty years ago. It’s exponentially worse now. There was a gulf between academia and reality back then, but it’s an ocean today. The 21st century college campus is La-La Land, and you won’t find anyTrump voters there. You might be escorted off campus if you even utter his name without first issuing a trigger warning. Trump voters exist only in the real world.
"Black Bloc" leftist thugs
Leftists dressed in black and wearing masks are attacking people pro-Trump rallies and conservatives on college campuses with fists, clubs, and pepper spray. Last Saturday, however, they got their butts kicked in Berkeley, California. Videos indicate the butt-kickers belong to a demographic that might be described as non-college-educated, white men with callouses. Will the left escalate beyond fists and clubs next time? Let’s hope not, but as David French writes in National Review:
We are now teetering on the edge of a truly terrifying incident, one trigger-pull away from a slaughter. Campus and urban progressives have a choice to make. Is this a nation of laws? If it is, then it’s time to grow a backbone, protect free speech, punish rioters, and expel those who disrupt the educational environment regardless of ideology.
Okay, enough of writing. Time to go outside and move my body — do something in three dimensions, stay grounded.
