{ freebeacon.com } ~ Victims of the Palestinian Hamas terror group are suing a prominent Turkish-controlled bank with business ties in the United States... over the financial institution's backing of the terror group and its violent attacks. The estate of Eitam Henkin, a U.S. national who was killed in a Hamas terror attack in 2015, alleges in a suit filed Monday in a U.S. court that Turkey's Kuveyt Bank, knowingly provided "substantial assistance via financial services" to Hamas from at least 2012 to 2015. While Turkey’s ties to Hamas have long been a flashpoint in its diplomatic relations with the United States, the suit could unearth new ties between the Middle Eastern bank and Hamas. The suit could also deter U.S. banks from working in the Turkish banking system for fear of incurring risk. Kuveyt Bank carries out U.S. dollar-denominated transfers via several American financial organizations, including Citibank, HSBC Bank USA, Standard Chartered Bank, and the Bank of New York Mellon, according to financial records offered to the court as part of the case. During the time Kuveyt was dealing with U.S. banks, it also was providing funding to Hamas with the knowledge of Turkish officials, according to the suit. "Kuveyt Bank aided and abetted Hamas knowing its own role in facilitating funds transfers through the international and U.S. financial systems on Hamas’s behalf and fully aware of Hamas's violent activities," the suit alleges. "Kuveyt knowingly maintained bank accounts for, and provided financial services to Hamas operatives, institutions, and fundraisers fully understanding its role in Hamas’s illicit and violent activities." The bank maintained Hamas-affiliated bank accounts and is accused of transferring funds through its corresponding accounts in the United States. FDD's Schanzer, one of the leading experts on jihadi groups in the Middle East, said the lawsuit "draws a direct line between the Erdogan government and Hamas, but more importantly alleges ties between the terrorist group and a bank that operates here in the United States."... .

{ townhall.com } ~ Over the past four days, the media has been consumed with an allegation President Trump "bribed" or pressured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky... to look into Hunter loose lips liar-Biden's business dealings inside the country. The claim comes from a whistleblower, who filed a complaint with the Inspector General and said he or she heard, but did not directly witness, President Trump pressuring a Ukrainian official. The whistleblower who sparked a mounting controversy over President Trump’s July phone call with Ukraine’s president did not have “firsthand knowledge” of the conversation, a person familiar with the situation told Fox News -- even as the issue fuels impeachment calls from Democrats. The source said that it is made clear in the complaint itself that the whistleblower did not have direct knowledge of the July phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. But it turns out, it was former Vice President loosev lips liar-Joe Biden who actually admitted to doing what President Trump is currently being accused of. During remarks to reporters Sunday before leaving for the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, Trump said he did discuss loose lips liar-Joe Biden during a recent call with Ukrainian President Zelensky and cautioned about reading too far into what was said. "The conversation I had was largely congratulatory, with largely corruption, all of the corruption taking place and largely the fact that we don't want our people like Vice President loose lips liar-Biden and his son creating to the corruption already in the Ukraine and Ukraine has got a lot of problems. Nunes: Ukraine Will Sink loose lips liar-Biden’s Campaign, Not Trump’s Presidency

Devin Nunes predicts former Vice President loose lips liar-Joe Biden’s presidential campaign will be over if his activities in Ukraine are fully revealed... While holes are starting to appear in the whistleblower story that suggested Trump somehow coerced the Ukrainian president in a July phone call, Nunes told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” this week that the reports about loose lips liar-Biden’s son’s business dealings “first originated back when scumbar/liar-Hillary Clinton was trying to make sure loose lips liar-Biden didn’t get in the race.”The prediction comes just as loose lips liar-Biden’s front-runner status in the Democratic presidential nomination race is seriously being challenged by Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth dinky-Warren who leads loose lips liar-Biden by two percentage points in a The Des Moines Register/CNN/Mediacom poll, 22% to 20%. Nunes, the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, says all this talk about Trump and Ukraine is not only turning out to be a hollow shell but could ultimately lead to people asking questions about whether loose lips liar-Biden interfered with the Ukrainian government and pressured it not to investigate his son’s significant business interests in that country. On Saturday Russian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said Trump exercised “no pressure” during the phone call. { danielpipes.org } ~ As Israeli frustration mounts about violence coming out of Gaza, the idea of a ground invasion, and once and for all to finish with Hamas aggression, becomes more appealing... Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has endorsed this approach, saying that "There probably won't be a choice but to topple the Hamas regime." While sympathetic to this impulse, I worry that too much attention is paid to tactics and not enough to goals. The result could be harmful to America's foremost Middle East ally. Attitudes toward Gaza are in flux. Efraim Inbar, the strategist who heads the Jerusalem Institute for Security Studies, for years advocated "mowing the grass" as "Israel's strategy for protracted intractable conflict." By this, he advocated an occasional reminder to Hamas' rulers and other Gazans of Israel's overwhelming power. Implicit in this approach is an acceptance that, most of the time, Israel accepts aggression from Gaza, with its attendant damage to property and life. As recently as May 2019, he dismissed the Palestinian threat to Israel as a "strategic nuisance." But Mr. Inbar recently recognized the high costs of this passivity and now calls for a "restricted ground invasion" of the territory: Why? Because "a short-term ground operation will bring better results than Israel's activity thus far i.e., mowing the lawn. We need to maneuver inside enemy territory, locate them, and destroy them, or tie the hands of its members." Others agree. For example, Ayelet Shaked, leader of the New Right party, calls for a widescale military operation in Gaza: "We must choose the time that is best for us, evacuate the Israeli citizens who live in towns along the Gaza envelope in order to give us maximum flexibility, and we must uproot the terror from within Gaza."To these analyses, I respond with Carl von Clausewitz' simple but profound counsel: first decide on your policy, then your strategy, then your tactics. Or, in plain English: Start by figuring out what you wish to achieve through the use of force, then decide the broad outlines of your approach, then the specific means....

{ dailycaller.com } ~ Conservative activist Scott Presler organized a street clean-up at a homeless camp in Los Angeles on Saturday and estimated that he and his team cleared about 50 tons of trash from the area... Presler has organized clean-ups across the country in Baltimore; Los Angeles; Newark, New Jersey; and Virginia Beach, Virginia. He’s also planning to organize more cleanups in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Detroit in the coming months.“If people are feeling inspired, don’t just tweet and Facebook,” Presler told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Stop talking, start doing.”The pro-Trump activist said he got a group of about 200 volunteers together in Los Angeles by using Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to get his message out and encourage people to sign up for his nine-hour cleaning haul. His team was equipped with hazmat suits — many of which were donated — as well as masks to cover their mouths, heavy-duty gloves and safety instructions to avoid being exposed to life-threatening diseases including typhus, typhoid fever and flesh-eating bacteria. “L.A. is completely different than Baltimore,” Presler said. “How crazy is it that it’s 2019 — not the Stone Age — and here we are, having to worry about these kinds of diseases?” He added that the CEO of a Christian homeless shelter in Los Angeles called Union Rescue Mission, Rev. Andy Bales, inspired him to take such protective measures after reading Bales’s story about how he lost his leg to infection after stepping in human waste while helping homeless community members on Skid Row....

Thomas Gallatin: Why does the Ukraine phone-call scandal feel eerily similar to Russia-gate? It’s almost as if those same anti-Trump players are hitting the replay button. An unnamed member of the U.S. intelligence community “blows a whistle” against President Donald Trump over a private phone conversation he had with a foreign leader, alleging that Trump made a “problematic promise.” Ah, the whiff of collusion with a foreign leader, this time with Ukraine’s president, as Trump targeted a political opponent. And, as with the Russia hoax, Democrats and the Leftmedia are all too eager to condemn Trump as guilty as they demand his impeachment without any evidence yet produced.
For starters, it has now been learned that this “whistleblower” did not have direct access to the phone conversation in question; rather, CNN reports, he or she “learned information that was not obtained during the course of their work.” So, this individual blew the whistle over information he or she learned secondhand rather than through direct knowledge. Consider us skeptical. How did this “whistleblower” come across this information in the first place? Should it not be concerning to every American that our president cannot have confidence that his private phone conversations remain private — not only to prevent them from being exploited by his political opponents but also for the sake of national security?
And now turning to the actual developing scandal that has Democrat presidential candidate loose lips liar-Joe Biden squarely in its crosshairs. A scandal that, ironically, he brought to light himself.
Back in May, to demonstrate his tough foreign-relations bona fides, loose lips liar-Biden regaled us with the tale of how, as vice president, he demanded that Ukraine fire its then-top prosecutor for what loose lips liar-Biden alleged was significant corruption. loose lips liar-Biden warned that the U.S. would withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees if Ukraine did not follow through on his demand. Lo and behold, the prosecutor was fired and Ukraine got its loan deal.
That’s where loose lips liar-Biden conveniently ended his story, but here’s where the twist comes in: The prosecutor in question was at the time leading an investigation into one of Ukraine’s largest natural-gas companies, Burisma Holdings, which just happened to have sitting on its board of directors one Hunter looswe lips liar-Biden, loose lips liar-Joe’s son. After the prosecutor was fired, the investigation was ended. There is at the very least an air of corruption swirling around this event and its not likely to dissipate anytime soon.
Finally, who’s the biggest winner in all this? Elizabeth dinky-Warren, who is certain to take advantage of loose lips liar-Biden’s suddenly exposed position as she trumpets herself as the Great Corruption Fighter of our time. ~The Patriot Post
