.Iran seizes oil tanker carrying 'smuggled fuel'
in Persian Gulf, state media reports

{foxnews.com} ~ Iran's Revolutionary Guard last week seized an oil tanker in the Persian Gulf that was supposedly carrying "smuggled fuel" from Iran state media reported Sunday... The ship was carrying 700,000 liters 185,000 gallons of fuel, according to state TV and the semi-official Fars news agency. Seven crew members were reportedly detained during the vessel's seizure.The ship was seized on Wednesday near Farsi Island, where an Iranian Guard Navy base is located, the news outlet reported. The island sits in the Persian Gulf between Saudi Arabia and Iran, north of the Strait of Hormuz. "This foreign vessel had received the fuel from other ships and was transferring it to Persian Gulf Arab states," Gen. Ramazan Zirahi, a Guard commander, was quoted as saying. Further information on the vessel, and the nationality of crew members, was not immediately clear. The seizure marked the third such incident involving a commercial vessel in recent weeks — and the second accused of smuggling fuel. The U.S. Fifth Fleet, based in Bahrain, told The Associated Press it did not have information to confirm the reports. Maritime tracking experts also said they did not have any immediate information about the incident or the vessel...

Burrell sentenced Hamid Hayat of Lodi, California, to 24 years in prison for... as the U.S. Department of Justice explained, “a series of terrorism charges related to his 2003/2004 attendance at a jihadi training camp in Pakistan and his 2005 return to the United States with the intent to wage violent jihad.” As prosecutors charged, the man with “a jihadi heart and a jihadi mind” intended to target hospitals, banks and grocery stores. Hayat boasted about giving money to Sipah-e-Sahaba, a group that Pakistan declared a terrorist organization. The case was one the first major prosecutions of terrorism in the wake of 9/11. Nearly 14 years later, judge Burrell, an appointee of George H.W. Bush, has vacated the sentence and conviction of Hamid Hayat, now 36. This action was based not on new exculpatory evidence but what amounted to a post-facto performance review of Hayat’s trial attorney by magistrate judge Deborah Barnes. In May of 2006, Hamid’s father, Umer Hayat, pleaded guilty to making a false statement to the FBI and United States Customs and Border Protection. He was tried by a separate federal jury but the proceeding ended in a mistrial and Umer Hayat gained release in August of 2006. Hamid Hayat’s attorney Wahzma Mojaddidi, a former CAIR president in Sacramento, contended there was no evidence that Hamid attended a terrorist training camp and pushed for a new trial. In 2007, federal authorities argued against a new trial, and as their legal brief noted, Hayat claimed that jihad was the duty of all Muslims. In recorded interviews, Hayat gleefully stated he was “so pleased” that jihadis had cut Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl “into pieces.” Hayat said Pearl “was Jewish” and that as a result of this “good job,” now “they can’t send one Jewish person to Pakistan.” In 2013, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Hayat’s conviction and in 2014 U.S. District Judge Garland Burrell denied Hayat’s motion for summary judgment to vacate his conviction. Following that ruling, former U.S. Attorney McGregor Scott, who headed the Hayat’s 2006 prosecution, told reporters it was “a righteous prosecution and a just result.” Two judges accept the claim that Wazhma Mojaddidi was incompetent, therefore her client Hamid Hayat is innocent and should be released. By this reasoning, an incompetent attorney constitutes exculpatory evidence, and a judge’s performance review is sufficient to turn loose a man convicted of “a series of terrorism charges.” A higher court might have trouble with that, and more, but for Hayat’s legal team it’s a done deal. According to the Sacramento Bee, the day after Burrell’s ruling, a prison counselor told Hamid Hayat, “start packing your stuff, you’re ready to go home.” If this absurd ruling stands, other terrorists will also be heading home, bringing on more cases of no justice and no peace....

{ clarionproject.org } ~ Democratic presidential candidates comkie-Bernie Sanders and Julian Castro have agreed to speak at the convention of a radical Islamist group with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood... and hostility towards progressive Muslims and values. commie-Sanders and Castro will participate in a “presidential forum” held by the Islamic Society of North America(ISNA) during its convention in Houston August 31, 2019. ISNA says it is inviting other Democratic presidential candidates and President Donald Trump to address its audience. The U.S. Justice Department lists ISNA as an “entity” of the Muslim Brotherhood, a radical and often violent arm of the Islamist global political project. The Brotherhood’s goal is a worldwide caliphate with all of humanity living under sharia law. The Trump administration announced three months ago that it was considering designating the Brotherhood as a domestic terrorist organization. As we reported in June, Trevor Noah, the progressive host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, is also slated to speak at the ISNA convention. He, like commie-Sanders and Castro, is apparently unaware of—or is unconcerned with—ISNA’s radical ideology, including expelling Muslims for Progressive Values, a pro-LGBT group, from its conference in 2017 or the fact one of ISNA’s past presidents endorsed the execution of homosexuals by sharia-based governments. By speaking at the event, Noah, commie-Sanders and Castro are helping ISNA appear as moderate leaders of the Muslim-American community not to mention helping ISNA raise money through ticket sales. The presidential forum is also being hosted by Emgage Foundation and the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), a group that has an inflammatory and Islamist-friendly history but has taken a stronger public stance against the Islamist ideology in recent years....
Trinidad’s Darkest Hour

{ frontpagemag.com } ~ Last month saw the 29th anniversary of an Islamic coup attempt to take over the government of the Caribbean island nation of Trinidad and Tobago... It was the first and only such Islamic terrorist attack in the Western Hemisphere attempting to overthrow an elected government. At the time, the coup was much underreported by the media due to the First Gulf War in Kuwait, occurring simultaneously. On Friday, June 27, 1990, 114 members of a Trinidadian Islamic group, Jamaat al Muslimeen, stormed the Trinidadian parliament, also called the Red House, and Trinidad’s television and radio station. By the time it was over six days later on August 1, 24 people were dead, including one Member of Parliament, a policeman and security guards. Much of the country’s capital, Port-of-Spain, was left a burnt-out ruin. This tragic event has been called Trinidad’s “darkest hour,” shaking the country “to its foundations.” “The coup staggered the Caribbean country’s sense of itself as an easygoing land of calypso, cricket and British-style democracy,” stated an Associated Press report, sounding like Trinidad’s 9/11 moment. Forty-two rebels took over the parliament building, taking 50 people hostages including the prime minister, ANR Robinson, while another 72 seized the Trinidad and Tobago television and radio station. The television station was the only one in the country. The rebels also exploded a car bomb, blowing up Port-of-Prince police headquarters after first warning the police. “It was the last thing on the minds of anyone that individuals would arm themselves, storm parliament and claim the government,” stated one Member of Parliament who was taken hostage, saying he was “shocked” to see men walking into the Red House with guns. Shortly after taking over the Red House, the leader of the coup, Yasin Abu Bakr, a convert to Islam, went on television and announced that the government had been overthrown and called for calm. But his call had the opposite effect. His coup announcement set off massive looting with accompanying fires that reduced much of Port-of-Prince “to rubble and destruction.” Looters were also killed in clashes with security forces. The rest of the county, however, remained calm....

{ americanthinker.com } ~ After the spectacle of Robert Mueller’s real time crumbling apart like a stale cookie, pundits took to the air to voice their frustration that Democrats are simply not tough enough to take on the Trump machine... For what it’s worth, recurring mosquito Joe Scarborough buzzed, “If you want to stop Donald Trump, it is time to ... roll up your sleeves and go after him and do whatever it takes to win”. Michael Moore tweeted that Trump wins because “he understands that Dems aren’t street fighters”. It’s a crude but successful tactic. It’s the I thought I married a real man, but I guess I was wrong attempt to shame your partner into dealing with life’s challenges more forcefully. Over at National Review, Michael Brendan Dougherty opined that Trump’s victories are the result of a timid opposition. He writes that “aggression is not the natural language of our political class”. I would argue that he is half right. Many Republicans, especially the self-proclaimed "principled" types, are loath to use not just aggressive language, but any uncouth monosyllabic brogue they consider beneath their pedigree. But aggressive language seems ominously natural when leftists speak about pretty much anyone who disagrees with them. It was aggressive language when then-candidate Barack scumbag/liar-nObama told a Philadelphia crowd, “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun. Because from what I understand, folks in Philly like a good brawl. I’ve seen Eagles fans.” Ever the politician, scumbag/liar-nObama had enough sense to add the cute football reference, giving him the wiggle room needed for a future cop-out. It is aggressive language when, in reference to Tea Party voters, Teamsters president Jimmy Hoffa Jr. told a Detroit rally to “take these sons of bitches out”. Attending the rally was President scumbag/liar-nObama who, taking the podium shortly thereafter, passed on his chance for a Sister Souljah moment....

{ /spectator.org } ~ The forum could not be more “progressive.” And more obsessed with the politics of racial supremacy — identity politics. There in Houston, Texas, on April 24 of this very year... one Democratic presidential candidate after another stood up at a “She the People” forum to proudly and quite openly endorse the poisonous racism of identity politics. She the People itself is quite boastful of their devotion to the racism that is identity politics. Its website features headlines from media that repeatedly use racial terms in their headlines. Samples? Washington Post: “This presidential forum will have 2020 Democrats answer to women of color” USA Today: “2020 Democrats commie-Sanders, Klobuchar, dinky-Warren, Gabbard to join forum on women of color” NBC News: “First-ever forum on women of color for presidential contenders” The She the People site also points to this New York Times article that again quite openly says this of the internal Democratic Party debate over how to defeat President Trump in 2020: The dispute is not merely a tactical one — it goes to the heart of how Democrats envision themselves becoming a majority party. The question is whether that is accomplished through a focus on kitchen-table topics like health care and jobs, aimed at winning moderates and disaffected Trump voters, or by unapologetically elevating matters of race and identity, such as immigration, to mobilize young people and minorities with new fervor. Got that? The Democrats are debating about “unapologetically elevating matters of race and identity” to win the presidency. Of course they are....
