Gohmert Calls For New GOP Leadership –
End of Senate Filibuster For Spending Bills

{ rickwells.us } ~ In the setup for his interview with Rep Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Stewart Varney plays a clip of President Trump saying... that this was the only time he was going to sign a garbage bill like the one he just held his nose and signed, the backstabbers Paul Ryan – Mitch McConnell disaster that was once again the fulfillment of the Democrat Party’s wish list. After noting that Gohmert didn’t vote for the bill, Varney asks if it’s time for backstabbers Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan to hit the dusty trail. Gohmert points out that the spending bill could end up costing the Republicans the majority and in that case there’d be a total change of leadership in the House no matter what. Evidently he’s choosing to battle Ryan later, if need be. Gohmert points out that the Senate likes to hang on to bad leadership, so there might not be any changes on that side. He says, “You’ve got to remember, Stewart, when you’ve got McConnell, Cornyn, clown-Schumer in the room from the Senate. You’ve got Ryan, you’ve got Pulosi,” somehow he’s not sure about Steny Hoyer, “I don’t think he’s for a wall,” saying that apparently “there’s nobody in the room that wants a wall.”...

{ news.usni.org } ~ The Marine Corps is planning for a future that will pit Marines against an enemy well-versed in fighting and hiding in crowded urban areas... and equipped with high-tech weapons and communications systems. Current events have validated these assumptions about future operations, including the use of bomb-bearing and swarm-capable drones during recent attacks on a Russia base in Syria. Such threats loomed large as a Marine infantry rifle company took to the streets of a Camp Pendleton combat town this week to experiment with several dozen new technologies and prototypes designed to make them more lethal, effective, efficient and agile in an urban fight. About 180 Marines are participating in the Urban 5th Generation Marine Exploration and Experimentation 2018 exercise at Camp Pendleton. U5G 2018 runs from March 15-25 and is the first in a progressive series of exercises this year focused on identifying potential technology enhancements for the Marine Corps rifle company and its subordinate units...  https://news.usni.org/2018/03/26/marines-experiment-new-technology-concepts-urban-battlefield?utm_source=USNI+News&utm_campaign=612bae35f3-USNI_NEWS_DAILY&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0dd4a1450b-612bae35f3-231491269&mc_cid=612bae35f3&mc_eid=3999f18767

{ ickwells.us } ~ A simple look at the banner containing the reporter’s name and the hash tag #neveragin reveals the content of the report isn’t going to be objective... The reporter points out that “students” have been “demanding more gun control” since the Parkland shooting and takes the position that we should let children, most of whom have never read the Constitution, determine the content of our laws for us. She says, “And now we’re starting to see some action,” with the grotesque Debbie Wasserman Schultz targeting “a major loophole she says she’s planning to close.” Having never been investigated further for her role in the Pakistani Awan espionage ring, Schultz still has power and her position. After first referencing the disarmament march on Saturday, Schultz rolled out the next phase of the globalist’s orchestrated gun confiscation effort. She said, “Saturday was a launch pad. So anyone that thinks that that was the end is sadly mistaken.”... https://rickwells.us/wasserman-schultz-after-ammo/
NATO Braces for Putin’s Next Military Move in Eastern Europe

{ dailysignal.com } ~ Since 2014, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s military aggression in Ukraine has rearranged the national defense chessboards of countries across Eastern Europe... In turn, the NATO military alliance has deployed weapons and troops eastward, to “make clear that an attack on one Ally would be considered an attack on the whole Alliance,” said NATO’s website. And the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has approved delivery of American anti-tank weapons to Ukraine. Yet, U.S. and NATO military leaders may have it wrong when it comes to anticipating Russia’s next military move in the region, a U.S. think tank says.  “The Russian military is well-positioned to launch a short-notice conventional war in Ukraine and a hybrid war in the Baltic states, the opposite of what Western leaders seem to expect in each theater,” Catherine Harris and Frederick Kagan wrote in a March joint report for the Institute for the Study of War and the American Enterprise Institute’s Critical Threats Project... https://www.dailysignal.com/2018/03/26/nato-braces-putins-next-military-move-eastern-europe/?utm_source=TDS_Email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MorningBell&mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiTXpaaU9UTmtaakU1T1RsbCIsInQiOiIyNFZuWU9kVFNBRXNSV1FlMGFQaWRDSWs3bVozcHg4bjNaMG01bEdrRjczeXdtQlhlUmpnclUyVWpjcXhSTEFjUHNIRlY4ZnpONGJyWFVKc0hUaUpHWmpLYm9LaW5kSWx4b1BrbkR5d3IyeGtIR25JNkdMazMxeUZzckErMjhFcCJ9

Bell Tolls for Cuomo

{ judicialwatch.org } ~ New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been slowly sinking in his own personal purgatory lately... beset by the corruption trial of a former close aide and a primary challenge from the Left by actress Cynthia Nixon. Things got worse last week when news emerged that a Cuomo-appointed parole board was freeing cop killer Herman Bell. The news sent a shock wave across New York. Bell was one of three members of the radical Black Liberation Army responsible for the brutal 1971 slaughter of two New York City police officers, Joseph Piagentini and Waverly Jones. Judicial Watch told the story when Bell came up for parole in 2014. Piagentini and Jones were ambushed at a housing project in Harlem, lured there by a fake 911 call. Readers of Investigative Bulletin will recall a fake call, a year later, lured NYPD Patrolman Phillip Cardillo to his death in Harlem. Jones died immediately in a hail of gunfire. Piagentini took longer to die, pleading with his killers that he had a wife and daughters at home. They showed him no mercy, firing twenty-two bullets into his body. Justice caught up with Herman Bell in 1973 and he has been in prison ever since. For decades, he insisted he was innocent. His story began to change only when it became obvious that he would never escape prison without accepting responsibility for his crimes. But as late as a 2012 appearance before the parole board, he still insisted he was “a political prisoner.”... https://www.judicialwatch.org/bulletins/bell-tolls-cuomo/?utm_source=deployer&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=tipsheet&utm_term=members&utm_content=20180327161452

Two School Shootings, One Media Narrative

nnYp4NHtNE3IOpnJVaRzA01wIkz_FD79OSiRCMmZ3ludU4FOatMLp9R3kAHGYpsj_L3SjQ3jB5dAx9QqVfoZZqYSxxCjXyVQb_0lAC1WxzvAkZvESxxzbAP7VDSe83ow9ylCV8Ybv9w65VCRIddd2srFIZH2kW0EmvL2Q0UFVO8=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?width=450by Arnold Ahlert:  Perhaps nothing reveals the increasingly blatant bias of the mainstream media more than their coverage — or conspicuous lack thereof — of events that either align themselves with the progressive political agenda, or run counter to it. A tale of two school shootings, one at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, and the other at Great Mills High School in Southern Maryland, is highly indicative.

Despite a plethora of evidence to the contrary, the Parkland  narrative continues to be framed as a gun control issue, and thus remains front and center. This includes the latest expletive-filled diatribe by the media-anointed anti-gun “authority,” Parkland student David Hogg. By contrast, the Great Mills narrative of a “good guy with a gun stopping a bad guy with a gun” has, by comparison, been relegated to the ash heap of history.
The Parkland atrocity occurred Feb. 14. Every day since, South Florida’s Sun-Sentinel newspaper has published either a front page story, an editorial, a steady barrage of anti-gun letters to the editor, or some combination of all three. Sunday’s paper was no exception. Both the front page and the editorial section were entirely focused on the March for Our Lives, the progressive-controlled anti-gun demonstration that took place Saturday in Washington, DC, and in other cities around the country.
This writer checked every page of the Nation & World section in the same newspaper, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Not a word about Great Mills — despite the reality it occurred on March 20, more than a month more recently than Parkland.
What has become “ancient history” with regard to Parkland? The massive failure of government at every level — including the race-based liar-nObama administration school discipline policy that enabled the massacre. A Google search of “policies responsible for Parkland shooting” reveals the most recent story written about the colossal failures evinced by both the FBI and Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel’s department was posted March 5, by the conservative website RedState. A Feb. 23 Washington Post article mentions one of the prime players in that failure, deputy Scot Peterson.
Yet the point of the Post piece was not about the armed deputy’s cowardice but about clinical psychologist Laurence Miller’s assertion that arming teachers is “a recipe for disaster.
NPR columnist David Desroches adds a racist angle to the progressive push-back against armed presence in schools. “Studies have shown that students do better when they feel safe, but there’s a line,” he asserts. “If a school is too secure, it can have the opposite effect. Especially for students of color.”
What about an armed police presence? Following the Newtown shooting in 2013, Chicago public school teacher Ashley Lauren Samsa derided that proposition, insisting it “will only add to a culture where guns are commonplace, making them part of every day life rather than weapons to be used only when absolutely necessary.
Perhaps Samsa was unaware that guns in Chicago — in the hands of criminals — are already commonplace and have turned that city into a killing field, despite it having some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation.
That guns in the hands of the law-abiding are a recipe for disaster, inherently racist, or culturally deleterious goes a long way toward explaining why the heroic efforts of Great Mills High School resource officer, Blaine Gaskill, who directly confronted and ultimately killed the shooter, remain largely under-reported.
And when stories about guns saving lives are reported? CNN  pointed out that “students at Great Mills High School walked out of class as part of a student-led protest against school violence in the wake of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School” and that students from the Florida school were “offering their thoughts and calling for an end to gun violence in schools.
That would be the same CNN that apparently canceled an interview with Kyle Kashuv, a Parkland student who is pro-Second Amendment. Why? In an interview with The Daily Signal, Kashuv stated the obvious: “There’s a clear media blackout for people that don’t have the same agenda as the news organization.
CNN’s agenda has been clear for quite some time. Its orchestrated  anti-gun town hall following the Stoneman shooting was reminiscent of George Orwell’s “Two Minutes Hate,” with NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio alternatively playing the part of 1984’s  Emmanuel Goldstein. What is the likelihood CNN will host a similar town hall where Second Amendment supporters can air contrasting opinions? Zero.
Several Google searches using a variety of terms centered on the media bias that accrues to the two incidents yielded a single piece by The New American, a conservative website. Columnist Bob Adelmann took the usual suspects to task, rightly explaining the incident in Maryland provides no “grist for the anti-gun media.
He further notes The Washington Post, which assigned seven reporters to the story, framed the issue as one crediting Gaskill “with  possibly saving lives by quickly engaging the shooter.” (Italics added.) Yet three paragraphs later, and exactly like CNN, the Post reminded its readers that the incident “comes days before thousands are expected in Washington for Saturday’s March for Our Lives rally, a march against gun violence and school shootings.
The end of the piece reeks of anti-gun calculation, courtesy of the Maryland killer’s neighbor, Toni Foreman. “What’s next, world?” she asks. “What do we need to do so our kids can be safe and go to school? How many more kids have to die?
As many as those who eschew an armed presence in schools, while maintaining a reverence for the intellectually bankrupt notion of “gun free” zones are willing to countenance, Ms. Foreman. Reflexively anti-gun people so out of touch with reality that the Blue Mountain School District in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, will be “arming” students — with buckets of river stone. “If an armed intruder attempts to gain entrance into any of our classrooms, they will face a classroom full students armed with rocks and they will be stoned,” district superintendent Dr. David Helsel warns.
Such lunacy will be aided and abetted every step of the way by a mainstream media that would rather advance a narrative than report the facts.
And there is nothing more inimical to the media’s “assault weapon” ban narrative than the inconvenient fact that the Maryland assailant used his father’s legally owned, 9mm Glock handgun to commit his crime.
What now, for that narrative — other than the American Left’s desire to ban guns outright laid bare?
On March 14, during the National School Walkout — as in the prior leftist-orchestrated, student recruitment effort — a New Prague High School student holding a sign that said, “Guns Don’t Kill People, People Kill People,” was removed from the march by the school’s principal. According to fellow student Kenny MacDonald, the “offending” student was also threatened with arrest.
Ironically, that violation of the student’s First Amendment rights was an object lesson regarding the need for the Second Amendment. That this immutable reality is disdained by a thoroughly corrupt media who are the greatest beneficiaries of a Second Amendment that protects a First Amendment that protects them — is even more ironic.   ~The Patriot Pos
