{ algemeiner.com } ~ A number of dramatic developments emerged on Sunday as Israeli political parties met with President Reuven Rivlin to make their recommendations as to who should be called on to form a new government... in the wake of the country’s general elections last Tuesday. The majority of the Arab-dominated Joint List party chose to recommend Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz. The Yisrael Beiteinu party of Avigdor Lieberman recommended no one. Rumors circulated that Blue and White wants Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be given the first chance to form a governing coalition. The September 17 elections, the second this year, resulted in a stalemate in which neither Blue and White nor Netanyahu’s Likud received enough Knesset seats to form a government. Yisrael Beiteinu leader Avigdor Lieberman has refused to commit to either side, thus holding the ability to prevent the larger right-wing bloc from forming a government. The decision by the Joint List was historic, as it is only the second time an Arab party has recommended a candidate from a Zionist party, the first time being Yitzhak Rabin in 1992. Firebrand Joint List MK Ahmed Tibi said of the move, “We’ll make history today: We’ll do what needs to be done to bring down Netanyahu.” Joint List chairman Ayman Odeh said the Arab public was a vital factor in recent elections, motivated by what he called right-wing incitement against them. “Our voters have arrived,” said Odeh, “and they wanted to do everything in order to replace Netanyahu.” “We want to live in a place that has real equality and justice,” he added. “Most of the Israeli public has said its piece — no to the rule of Benjamin Netanyahu.” “We don’t usually recommend,” Odeh said, “but there is a historical aspect here — we want to end the Netanyahu era.”...  https://www.algemeiner.com/2019/09/22/israeli-political-parties-take-unexpected-positions-in-first-day-of-post-election-consultations-with-president-rivlin/?utm_content=news1&utm_medium=daily_email&utm_campaign=email&utm_source=internal/

{ jpost.com } ~ After completing his consultations with all nine political factions represented in the incoming Knesset, which is set be inaugurated next week, President Reuven Rivlin emerged to thank the media for its attendance... but explained that he still had not finished the process for giving a mandate to one of the two main candidates, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu or Blue and White leader Benny Gantz. For this reason, he refused to answer questions before meeting with Netanyahu and Gantz on Monday night, saying that whatever answer he gave to any question would provoke another question.  Relating to the fact that the consultations had been live-streamed so that all of Israel would be privy to them in real time, Rivlin said that he was happy to be able to do this in matters affecting the nation as a whole. Despite what was a virtually foregone conclusion, Rivlin on Monday morning entered into a second round of consultations with the four remaining factions out of nine. He had conducted consultations with the larger factions on Sunday night. First to meet with Rivlin on Monday was the delegation of United Torah Judaism.  Media interest had waned since the previous evening. The television crews and still photographers were still in attendance but most of the reporters who had crowded the President's Residence on Sunday night were absent.  Rivlin told them that the nation had gone to sleep the previous night with 46 recommendations that Blue and White leader Benny Gantz be the next Prime Minister and 40 for Netanyahu. The number of  supporters for Gantz had been reduced to 43 when 3 members of The Arab Joint List had withdrawn their recommendation. UTJ support for Netanyahu  had given the prime minister a lead for the first time, said Rivlin, who asked if UTJ would be willing to go with another candidate...

Evidence that Iran Violated the
Nuclear Deal Since Day One?

{ gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ The Iranian government is advancing its nuclear program at a faster pace. Recently, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) declared that Tehran took the third step in increasing its nuclear activities... by activating advanced centrifuges: 20 IR-4 and 20 IR-6 centrifuges. The previous two steps that Tehran took included: increasing the enriched uranium stockpile beyond the 300kg cap, which was set by the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and enriching  uranium to levels beyond the limit of 3.67 percent. As part of its rush to a nuclear breakout capability, the Islamic Republic of Iran is also expanding its research and development work beyond the limitations set by the JCPOA. Iranian nuclear agency spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi told a televised news conference, "We have started lifting limitations on our Research and Development imposed by the deal ... It will include development of more rapid and advanced centrifuges." The ruling mullahs are claiming that Iran's recent moves and violations of the nuclear deal are the fault of the US government, because the Trump administration withdrew from the JCPOA, but the claim is a lie. New evidence shows that Iran's theocratic establishment was most likely violating the nuclear agreement since the day the scumbag/liar-nObama administration and Tehran struck the deal in 2015. To clarify: Do you remember when the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Yukiya Amano immediately to inspect an "atomic warehouse" in Iran last year? Netanyahu stated in his speech to the UN General Assembly that Iran had a "secret atomic warehouse for storing massive amounts of equipment and material from Iran's secret nuclear weapons program." Tehran claimed that the warehouse, which is located in a village Turquz Abad in the suburbs of Tehran, was a place where carpets were cleaned. At the same time, two non-partisan organizations based in Washington, DC -- the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) and the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD) -- released detailed reports about Iran's undeclared clandestine nuclear facilities as well...

{ spectator.org } ~ Watching the events of last weekend’s bizarre Iranian attack on Saudi installations, I predicted that the global price of oil would spike but that the increase would be manageable... Thankfully, these assertions have proven true. Iran has had decades to seek an amicable peace with the West over its nuclear and geopolitical ambitions, but each time it has remained stubbornly obstinate in rejecting Western negotiation attempts. Even when the West grotesquely compromised itself on the altar of appeasement with Iran, as it did during the scumbag/liar-nObama administration’s piteous nuclear “deal” in 2015, the ruling mullahs in Iran proved to be entirely untrustworthy. Since 2015, Iran has engaged in a massive surge of nefarious activity throughout the region, confirming that it is not a regime interested in achieving peace with the West. Instead, the mullahs desire regional hegemony at all costs. Thankfully, though, since Donald J. Trump became president in 2016, the United States has completely reversed course on the scumbag/liar-nObama administration’s Iran appeasement plan. Rather than weakness through mindless giveaways to the terrorist-sponsoring state, the Trump administration has insisted that Iran comply with international law and imposed onerous economic sanctions upon the country. And, with each provocation from Iran, U.S. resolve has only strengthened and increased cohesion between and among its Israeli and Sunni Arab allies in the region. On top of the Trump sanctions, the Trump policy of promoting domestic fossil fuel production has helped to insulate the United States from the geopolitical risk of Iranian attacks on the world’s oil supply. Therein lies the purpose of Iran’s attacks on Saudi Arabia’s oil production capabilities. Iran’s hope was to negatively impact the world oil market so badly that prices would spike to unmanageable levels, hitting American energy consumers — people like you and me — hard. The logic was simple: Americans vote with their wallets. If Iran could increase the direct costs on American voters for supporting hardline policies against Iran, the regime might force favorable domestic political changes in the United States. Plus, with the Trump sanctions in place, Iran’s economy has been slowly dying, increasing political discord in Iran and threatening the stability of the regime. If the Iranians had managed to take out Saudi Arabia’s oil production capabilities over the long term, they could benefit economically, as desperate countries that are dependent on Saudi oil, like China or any of the European states, would come clamoring for Iranian oil...  https://spectator.org/iran-will-strike-again/?utm_source=American%20Spectator%20Emails&utm_campaign=78e1c9076f-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_09_23_01_05&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_797a38d487-78e1c9076f-104608113

Ukraine ‘Bombshell’ Will

{ spectator.org } ~ The Democrats increasingly resemble those wannabe jihadis who blow themselves to rags by mishandling homemade explosives. Their animus for President Trump is such that they consistently underestimate the danger to themselves presented by “bombshell” revelations when managed with insufficient care... The already questionable credibility of Elizabeth dinky-Warren was recently damaged when, based on a now-debunked New York Times story, she precipitously demanded the impeachment of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. A similarly impulsive Democratic response to the “explosive” claims made by an anonymous intelligence official about a telephone conversation between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will inevitably explode in their faces. loose lips liar-Joe Biden is particularly vulnerable on this score. The substance of the call involved Trump’s request for an investigation into the business dealings of loose lips liar-Biden’s son, Hunter, according to the “whistleblower.” The erstwhile VP is extraordinarily foolish to draw further attention to a son who has long been suspected of improperly leveraging his father’s prominent role in Ukrainian relations with the United States. loose lips liar-Biden, however, is not exactly renowned for his critical thinking skills. Consequently, he responded defensively to a reporter’s question about his son’s Ukrainian activities during a Saturday event in Iowa by calling for an investigation into the whistleblower’s accusation: “You should be looking at Trump.… Why is he on the phone with a foreign leader, trying to intimidate a foreign leader?” This is rich, considering that loose lips liar-Biden has bragged in public about using his own position in the scumbag/liar-nObama administration to get a Ukrainian prosecutor fired. In 2018, loose lips liar-Biden spoke to a meeting of the Council on Foreign Relations and boasted that he had threatened to withhold $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees from Ukraine if Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin wasn’t immediately canned: “I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’” The ostensible reason for this heavy-handed pressure to get rid of Shokin was the man’s corruption. Presumably, it was just a coincidence that this particular prosecutor was planning an investigation into Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian company for which Hunter loose lips liar-Biden worked as a “consultant.” loose lips liar-Biden was not alone in denouncing President Trump for his alleged attempt to “intimidate” Ukrainian president Zelensky. Julián Castro, another unemployed scumbag/liar-nObama administration official pursuing the Democratic presidential nomination, tweeted the following: “Donald Trump is a criminal. He must be impeached immediately.” Saturday, Castro began a speech with another demand  that the House take immediate action to remove the president: “Let me begin with a message for our House Democratic friends — it is time for you to do your job and impeach Donald Trump.” This was a big applause line for his audience, but it contained no constitutional justification for such action by the House. As Jonathan Turley, Professor of Public Interest Law at George Washington University,  writes...

Democrats Are a Party Divided

Political Editors:  The Wall Street Journal and NBC News recently released their latest polling on the Democrat presidential candidates. The results are both predictable and yet surprising, with former Vice President loose lips liar-Joe Biden continuing to lead the pack at 31%, Sen. Elizabeth dinky-Warren closing in at 25%, Sen. commie-Bernie Sanders continuing his slow fade at just 14%, and none of the other 487 candidates in double digits.

That’s the predictable part; the surprises are in the details. For example, while loose lips liar-Biden is still solidly in front, his numbers have slipped, especially in terms of voter enthusiasm. This may explain why dinky-Warren has begun to surge over the last couple of months. Fauxcahontas is fiery if nothing else, and she can stir up a crowd far better than “Sleepy loose lips liar-Joe.”

The poll numbers also show a clear divide among Democrat voters. loose lips liar-Biden, who is widely viewed as the most centrist candidate (graded on a hard-left curve), receives his strongest support from older white and black Democrats who appear less favorable to the socialist agendas of dinky-Warren and commie-Sanders. Meanwhile, both dinky-Warren and commie-Sanders see their strongest support coming from young white Democrats. The two-part question, then, is whether dinky-Warren can continue her surge, and whether loose lips liar-Biden can close the enthusiasm gap.

The Resurgent’s Steve Berman observes, “More and more, it appears to me that the Democrats don’t know who they want to run, only that they want Trump out. Given the candidates on top right now, it will be Republican voters who determine the general election results, which means what we’ve been saying all along is likely true. This is still, right now, Trump’s race to lose.”

Here in our humble shop, we still believe there’s something of a strategy behind the Democrats’ obsession with identity politics. As Mark Alexander wrote earlier this year: “The current Demo presidential primary strategy to defeat Trump dictates that the Left should field a lot of candidates, with the objective of raising a lot of money to build each candidate’s respective constituency. At the end of the primary, fold all those identity-politic constituencies into one massive amalgamation of general-election voters — a ‘collective constituency of dunces,’ as I fondly refer to it — adolescent dupes of all ages. Then focus that amalgam on defeating Trump.”

The real question, then, is whether the surviving candidate will be able to bring all those factions together by next November.   ~The Patriot Post
